- In this episode we learn an essential practice rhythm. This pattern will open up your mind and make everything easier. If you practice this riff you will be able to play and create fills, solos and easily transition between sections in a song. I finish with an example of how to apply it directly to a beat. One hand plays triplets and the other hand plays eighth notes, then you switch back and forth. Stick with it, practice everywhere and have fun.

It takes a while to master. My trick was slow and concentrate on the triplet, slow, and pause on the eighth note. The eighth note hand gets automatic after a while.
