Alex, you'd often bring up yearning for more KB backstory, yet fall short of analyzing the breadcrumbs writers left for us regarding KB. For example, the possible anomalies of KB being either an autistic child or partly enhanced cyborg, as per her fears of corrosion from the chemical-rich hot-spring baths. Perhaps KB has medical vulnerabilities liken to Mikey's asthma from the Goonies, which Mikey controversially overcame his need for his inhaler. From the top, both KB's parents/guardians are women. This may or may not imply that KB may be biologically engineered or enhanced in a world overrun by droids. KB supposedly suffer "conditions" which may impede her functioning in her coming of age adventure. The owl Kh'ymm also sported head gear, hinting that Kh'ymm may also be biologically engineered/enhanced to compensate for her vulnerabilities, which explain the moment of sympathy the two characters shared for one another before escaping the X-wings. Unlike the other kids, KB didn't exhibit fight or flight when headless statue got blasted, but she just stood and stared w/ curiosity. Granted freezing up is also a common reaction in time of danger. In this episode, when Vern and Jod accused one another of being too scared to reactivate SM33, Vern told KB to do it, possibly knowing her friend didn't endow similar fear-based reservations. Some gifted autistic children may be great with numbers (e.g. calculating complicated math/odds), but are poor at processing emotions. In KB's enigmatic wiring/upbringing, she was less familiar with using her own "gut" as cost-benefit assessment (as advised by Jod). The character growth of KB as an autistic or enhanced cyborg who could tear up for her friend Vern as Jod betrayed their trust, would be an intriguing side plot.
Neel is not related to Rennod and the captain is 100% dead because his jacket on the recording matches the skeleton's jacket on Onyx Cinder. But the first mate who betrayed Rennod is Neel's grandfather. We see his statue in the captain's lair and we see also his (first mate's) portrait in the Neel's garage in the episode 1.
Oh, and of course the statue of supervisor in the episode 1. is the same species as Neel! Also this "grandfather" is dressed as a jedi in the garage and in the lair. So it could be that the first mate was a jedi or the supervisor who oversaw the At-Attin mint was a Jedi of Neel species.
I keep missing the livestreams! But I can catch up now. This latest episode was great! Really curious about who the owner of the tool the Wim grabbed was.
Yes, Molly ! Like you, I still want to know more about KB especially "what her motivations are". And I agree that "they have put her aside" as you so accurately express it. I feel like we got the biggest dose of her character development in episode 3. But I still want more. And Alex, you say we don't know "who she is at her core". Both of you can be so expressive and spot on about things such as this, not only KB but other details we are missing and which we've gone 5 episodes without knowing, some of which should be at the heart of the story they are putting forth. And Alex! I also love how weird this episode is.
SM33 has now remembered how his captain actually died. Fern was never his captain in the first place. I think she'll work that out tell him he has no master.
Sorry but Palpatine and Dooku definitely both have British accents. 😂. Also I think I’m the only one who doesn’t have a problem with the miniseries/‘long movie’ format. I watch a lot of masterpiece dramas and mysteries on pbs so I guess I’m used to it? (And used to waiting a week to find out what happens next!)
SM33s despair at the gentrification of his favorite punk hangout was so real actually

Dude that is a giant laptop.

23:26 hey Mollie… I just came here to post that I thought your wig joke was flawless… you fitted in in seamlessly.
Hahaha thanks 🙏

I am thinking so many of these shows should be movies. Maybe only mando works as a show?
It was always planned to be a show
Mando wouldn't work as a movie and ironically does not work as a show either
@ do you know if skeleton crew was always a show too? Also, this one wasn’t announced in 2020 like the other slate of projects, right?
@ 😭😭🤭

OLED tv would help with the darkness of these SW series'. I just got one and I can see everything!
When Jod gave the Qui-gon quote, my mind went to Xanatos, but quickly realized he's too young.

What they ultimately did made more sense, but i kept thinking Wim was going to surprise Jod and take his arm or hand off.
The kids escape, call Ky’hmm and Mando picks them up.
So you want a more serialized sci-fi show, Alex? May I introduce you to a series called Star Trek: The Original Series and The Next Generation? 😁
Built the Onyx Cinder with my son so long ago. I was like...now we wait...
It would be wild if he was Ben Kenobi's brother
What is that laptop 😭
I loved episode 5 , i'm starting to think that jod could , be a grey jeci.
