DREAM ACADEMY: What went wrong why were they eliminated? (talent-wise)
Вставка
- Опубліковано 16 вер 2024
- While evaluating the trainees of Dream Academy, I had an interesting thought. Usually, when we discuss the winners of a survival show, we focus on the "moment we knew a member would debut." What if this time, we take a look at the trainees who didn't make it and explore why they weren't able to secure a spot? Surprisingly, not many creators have delved into this content as much as the conventional one.
This video aims to provide viewers with a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by trainees who don't debut, shedding light on the criteria and factors that contribute to their outcome. Please note that explanations for some members might be a bit vague, as this was primarily meant to discuss their overall performance.

I feel like Marquis and Ezrela will definitely go far in the industry
and nayoung, i really wish Hybe would keep these 3 for a future project!
@@RoyaleMusical if Hybe has any bit of commonsense they wouldn't let go of Ezrela, Samara, Emy. mei, Marquise, Ua. These girls are well trained and talented to debut in another group..Nayoung would complete the group.
@@Chakka_roo7 honestly, they’re all so talented and the ones you listed would be perfect as idols, i really wish we coulve had a larger group than six because seeing Ezrela, Nayoung, Marquise & Emily not make it was super hard for me…😭 like nayoung is literally the perfect idol, shes stunning, literally Korean, THE VOCALLLSSSS? the dancing…incredible
This takes time, but if HYBE were to debut, some would be the Japanese ones, through HYBE JAPAN

Sorry, but none of the debuted 😢 I’m still sad
@@user-annoyingbrituo5nr5bv8si can see them being a backup dancing in a Kateye music video
@@darkcircle1009 bro whaaat which one?
Emily had the highest support in Asia and Ezrela is talented and multilingual. With the rising media attention towards Blackswan, I think Hybe should take a risk and see if they'll do well in another survival show geared towards creating a Jpop group. Jpop has a long history of foreign idols in the industry, and it would be interesting to see them on another show if they're willing. It'd be nice to see UA and Mei there too!
I don't agree to them going through training and wasting their years anymore, rather guarantee them a spot and intriduce a new group of short gurls if that was the reason they were eliminated, why cabt shorties be a pop group? Just because they don't pass a certain height at the finale, their outstanding takent and training don't matter!!!!...I am furious because these gurls worked so hard...Ezy can speak her mother tongue also korean, japanese ( huge fan based countries). They should've considered that, as well as Samara and her Brazil fans who loves kpop...Well good luck to them, after tgeir unfair decisions and picks I personally lost interest in Hybe x Geffen altogether.... 😁
@@Chakka_roo7the judges are beings bias that's why they give Megan high score so that she can make it cuz they know she's not5 that popular, and give ezrela and Samara low score cuz thay have solid strong fan base and ezrela is fans fav but sadly they can't take two Indian members, this is so unfair for ezrela and i feel bad for, i will keep rooting for ezrela Emily morquise samara and i hope they will go far in the industry, hybe disappointed me this time
*&TEAM*
They should definitely do another survival die for the female counterparts of &TEAM
@@dokessezeaka5159 sadly i don't think they will, considering that the girls are not Asians 😔
man.. i was so sad when emily wasnt in the group i feel like she wouldve been great TT.. hopefully she doesnt leave hybe, she has seriously so much talent, and she was one of my favs :((
Most girls had voice lessons when they were young but Emily and UA were full time main dancers who never sang before. For just starting lessons, they were not bad at all. Lots of potential. With time, they will be ready for debut for a future group or other activities.
I think Emily peaked late. She killed it in Wannabe.
I think most of them left hybe though
She'll make a good backup dancer for someone
I feel like if the Popstar academy came out first she would have had waaay more fans she was nice to everyone and ranked number one, was the only girl to move on to rank A by the judges at the start etc but I feel like Dream Academy did not showcase her talents and personality enough leaving people not really interested in her 😢
Emily was such a loss . Her dancing skills are insane
she would be the best dancer of all of HYBE female artists if ever
They went by looks
Ezrela and Emily, those 2 girls not getting it was rly hard to watch cause they’re both so talented :(( marquise too tbh I wanna see all 3 of these girls on stage again
A group can't be together just because they are talented. They need to compliment each other to form a good group dynamic in performance. These girls were talented but many were more like soloists or didn't fit together for me when performing. I hope some are given another chance with others that fit better with them later and Hybe also needs strong female soloists.
I think with time and practice, the debuted girls can do great! Obviously they haven't officially debuted yet, so we're not sure how it will be.
The Nayoung situation is interesting and i think at the end of the day hybe wanted to debut yoonchae more. She’s their Korean representative in the group and she’s the youngest which means she has a built in longevity over Nayoung not to mention it’s clear she wasn’t that fluent in English while yoonchae speaks and understands a lot more English than her and since the group is supposed to be global they needed members who could communicate fully to make the group be as successful and smooth as it can be. Her leaving makes more sense that way bc she seems way more like she was misunderstood and really wanted to debut in the group and her voice would’ve been SO necessary to the music industry
Yea I really wonder what all went on behind the scenes
@@Jjangbunbunshe made a silly comment that I feel was taken too seriously
Yeah I think they wanted an excuse to kick her after she expressed thinking of “solo” and Nayoung accepted it only bc they made a point saying she shouldn’t think that if she wanted to be in the group
it really was a tough choice between Nayoung and Yoonchae.. but if I'm also the exec and had to choose, let's be real, Yoonchae indeed would be the better fit for the group.
@@DemonaLlamaYeah.. She literally participated in another group project survival show after Dream Academy, so it's not like she was dying to be a soloist.
Fortunately, she won that survival show. Unfortunately, the group is giving nugu vibes.
10:03 Definitely agree on Emily. She's clearly the best dancer. The fact that she's a professional dancer who won many awards in competitions since she was a kid already proves that she's a gem. I'm glad you praised her versatility since that's many of Dream Academy viewers refuse to see. They think she's only cutesy when she actually do various styles of dances from hip hop, contempory, ballet, jazz, heels. She can adapt well to different genres and concepts. Her dancing skills and stage presence is on another level. She's not a great singer, but she has good vocals with a clear, sweet yet strong tone. In "All The Same", her line is only short but she showed her angelic vocals. In "Girls Don't Like", she managed to make her voice deep at the last line. In "Wannabe", her smooth flow is amazing. She's absolutely talented and undeniably a solid performer, but it's sad how there's still people who underestimates and discredits her.
People also think she didn't fit the concept/image that's why she wasn't chosen for the group, when in fact the judges gave Emily high score and she tied with Lara at 4th place. They also specially mentioned her in an article for being the dance leader of trainees. Aside from her talent, her work ethics and relationship with the girls are important to the group. Emily is essential and Hybe wants her, but the low fan votes is the only thing that brought her down. She was an early applicant chosen for her excellent background and trained for 2 years. She has less support and people already didn't like her from the start due to her race... It's so disappointing to see the results and I feel bad for her.
Anyway, Emily might do better as a solo artist. She gives that Britney Spears vibes which many people has been mentioning in her videos. I hope she keeps on working hard to debut. She has that star factor and her future is so bright.
it’s really sad that people didn’t vote her all because she’s white. it really does show that racism/discrimination towards white ppl does exist
@froggy8567 This is facts but people just don't want to admit it. Back when they just revealed their profile photos, people were already hating Emily and openly saying "we don't want white people" and it's just okay for them. But if the same thing was said to other races, it would instantly be racism and there would be riot for it...
Emily is really talented but it's sad that her talent got overshadowed by race/country supporters of others which she didn't got. But anyway, I hope she could be more successful if she pursues solo career.
@@froggy8567 don't try to make it seem like reverse racism exists lmao
Unfortunately K-pop fans have an agenda against white people in kpop even tho this was a global group the fact it’s connected to kpop all the white girls got shit on. Megan in a way too tho she did so well at the beginning like Danielle but the others gave vibes of typical white girls which K-pop fans probably see as their past bullies. The hate Brooklyn got was insane and Emily was jsut seen as the dancer that Megan and Danielle was enough since they jsut killed it like Meiky dancing wise even tho arguably Emily is a better dancer. If Emily could sing that might have gotten her there but she made it to the end at least so enough people saw her potential; it’s jsut Megan and Danielle stood out more
Let's just be honest. The reason they weren't chosen mostly came down to how they look... talent is not always enough. This isn't saying there's anything wrong with them, but a big part of stardom is having that it-girl appeal and that includes looks. Manon had a pretty big advantage over the others for that reason, her looks and style stood out in every video. Unfortunately some really talented, hard-working girls were passed over for that reason
I miss Emily soooo much and you could tell she wanted this so so bad. I still hope she can debut 😢
Personally I think some girls got the short end of the stick bc of how badly structured voting was and the show itself started with mission 1 tbh. So Adela was out of luck. As for mission 2 it made sense why they picked the bottom 4 got voted out and mission 3 was definitely deliberate to get rid of the girls that only had nationality support was obviously the weaker of the performers
I’m also angry we didn’t get to hear them sing more! Seeing those clips of Iliya made me genuinely frustrated bc her voice is BEAUTIFUL and I had no idea about that from the show. I’ve also seen TikTok’s of Adela singing beautifully and we never even got to hear her sing once on the show. Mei sounded great during fearless, and Karlee was hella sick singing the main vocal part of anti fragile and i feel like if they let them pre record the way the fearless teams did she would’ve stayed till the finale at least. Either way I AM IN LOVE with the lineup we ended up with, I’ve voted for all of them at least once and I’ll be anticipating their debut even more than i have baby monster’s
i will do anything and everything to help and support Ezrela! i love her so so so much she has such potential as you pointed out she just fits being an idol so so much!! and she is fuluent in many asian launges and korean's also seams to love aussies and i just need her to debut somehow somewhere someday, i need t so wholeheartedly
I hope HYBE would keep and debut Marquise, Nayoung, and Mei another time. I also hope to see Emily and Ezrela again one day.
Why do you guys assume they’re still with HYBE?
nayoung gonna pursue herself as solo artist in the future btw but idk when she gonna debut
@@moozie996and we will be seated when she debuts
UA and Marquise has the potential to make it big into kpop. They just need more training and time.
UA just turned 15 and only had 3 months of vocal lessons in her entire life. If she works hard on vocals, I can totally see her debuting in a Japanese idol group as a main dancer in a few years.
Marquise's dance and vocals are okay and I can totally see her debuting in a year or two. She needs to work on dancing with more power, being more confident and comfortable in front of the camera and facial expressions. If she improves in these things, I can see her in either a kpop/kjpop group. Her biggest thing is stage presence and being comfortable enough to show her personality on camera.
And marquise needs to dye her hair so tired of the red
@@areanaangel8964 UA should also train with her pronounciations with words, especially her line in fearless, which is "step on the highway, highway", which made her sound like a baby tbh
@@Jjangbunbun who even are you to tell that to Marquise bro? It's her life and choice, she can dye her hair whatever she wants, if you hate Marquise for her red hair, then you should hate Celeste for her pink hair then
@@Jjangbunbunuh what does that gotta do with anything?
For Samara i personally think with or without the controversy she wouldn't have debuted
It was obvious hybe had a vision for the girl group and she really didn't fit that image but no one can deny that she was one of the most talented trainee
I hope to see her in the future she is too talented to be abandoned
In my opinion, she would debut. The company itself went after Samara. Unlike the other girls, who spent 2 years training, Samara joined the reality show 2 months before it started. In the Dream Academy trailer she sang in Portuguese (suggested by the company itself) and they even used Brazilian funk. I think they really wanted her in the group, but because of the controversy, they didn't put her in.
Edit: it's also worth remembering that Samara was the only one to record the Back for More challenge from the txt with Anitta (they made Samara learn the choreography), obviously to promote the song in Brazil (because Anitta is Brazilian), but for a company to do that, they had the chosen people, and Samara was one of them.
Fr it’s so sad too since the controversy wasn’t even true
@@cellular7881it's true i saw it with my two eyes liked some questionable content on her tiktok accounts and also a religion in IG that supports problematic acts but i don't know what her real reasons why she do that since some of the videos she like is in Portuguese the only only one i understand is the making fan of Indian street food.
Hybe is opening a Latin American branch, so they'll probably debut her there. Especially since there's still a sizeable fandom for her there.
@@goldyd144She's not going to debut with her controversy I dont think she'll reach far even if she does it will be like the garam situation but only this time it will be true.
emily was literally in my top 6 mann i was hella sad when she didn’t get in : (
SAME
Nah she didn't fit the image of the group that's why she didn't get in. Higher ups of Hybe knows what they are doing
The judges gave Emily high score and she tied with Lara at 4th place. They also previously credited her in an article for being the dance leader of the trainees. Hybe sees her talent and work ethics which is essential to the group, they definitely want her, but the low fan votes is the only thing that unfortunately brought her down from debuting. It's just Dream Academy fans who didn't want her in the group so they keep making excuses.
Emily deserves better and I hope she can debut in the future.
@@Whalien-jb7gffr that person above said that as if Emily didn't have one of the highest judges scores😭
@@ShemmwellElmidothe judges wanted her in the group the voters didn’t cause they racist 💀💀
But like Emily just ate inasenly on every mission when it comes to dancing and singing, especially her wannabe part with ezrela
I loved Emily so much! Personally I did wish her singing was stronger in Wannabe (and Ua's). Wannabe had the best song, vibe, energy, facial expressions, outfits and dancing. The only thing I would liked more is stronger vocals. Emily sang great in Were All the Same Though.
She did, but, I feel like she was just a filler vote for many which was her downfall
She just did a little too much. If she was more controlled in her execution it would be better but she was like level 1000 power throughout choreo
Yup Emily did great in each missions with the hip hop, intense and energetic choreos that really matched her. She showed her solid dance skills in OMG and Antifragile, but she did the best overall in Wannabe. She was so natural and she embodied the song (she also resembles Baby Spice from Spice Girls.) She showcased more of her vocals in All The Same which is a ballad song, she only had one line but her voice was so angelic.
@@Jjangbunbun Really? I loved how much she went out, and I thought she executed it pretty well
After watching the Serie, the girls generally are amazing for all their hard work. I think, for what they showed looks like Manon was always spoiled by everyone. The girls were right about her about work ethic. All the best for the group ❤
Bang Si Hyuk should've been the one choosing the members....not random people throught a survival show. I'm sure some people regret their choices after watching the documentary.
why? i think all of the members fit the group
agree😭
Brooklyn choosing the stylistic path and sacrificing technique was unfortunate because that is what led a good number of people to feel confused and think that her singing was "subpar" when it was more of a choice as an artist. She CAN sing and she's very skilled, she just chose to sing in a style she felt fitting for the songs and image. I think if she focused on technique during the competition and saved her personal style for later, it would have increased her chances of getting into the group.
I'm so sad about Nayoung and Emily..
They should’ve shown more of the girls’ personalities during the show like jyp does
I don't know, but without Emily the group kind of lost the spark
samara fumbled her bag SO bad... like if she at least kept her tiktok likes private she definitely would be in the group
Ela foi prejudicada isso sim, essa polêmica foi forjada e todo mundo sabe disso, como você disse se ela tivesse comentários xenofobia ela com certeza não deixaria o tik tok aberto
The minute Samara did what she did she signed her own resignation letter
It was taken out of context
But if she doesn't have issues will she debut?

Now everyone is sad about Emily, but when it was time to vote back then she had VERY little support (me and sum others)
if nayoung did not leave, yoonchae would be nowhere to be found in that line up
Right..
Well, Nayoung shouldn’t have said that she’d pull a Camila and leave the group after a few years to go solo. Then ppl will think that she’s using the show and the group for clout. Even if it was “made oUt oF cOntExT” it’s still a rlly shitty and selfish thing to say. Makes me wonder why she even participated in the show in the first place.
True
I'll tell you what Marquise lacks, confidence. The moment she cried saying the public already chose who they like I knew she wasn't going to debut. Every contestant was afraid of the results and not being liked, but no other showed that level of insecurity, which came throughin the performances too, something the judges also pointed out. Personally I'm very pessimist myself so I didn't want to support someone with that attitude, she is good and gave up too early, not the kind of attitude I would look for either if I was in charge of forming a group
I love all the debut members of dream academy and can't wait for them to debut... Emily broke my heart though. She was really my favourite. She was also SO popular in Korea and Asia in general and she was so talented! I wish they debuted as 7 but at least 6/7 of my faves got picked. All the best for Emily
Lee Nayoung now debuts as 1 of 5 members from Girls On Fire (JTBC).... Pos #1 👑 🎉
as she should ! well deserved !
Marquise and Ezrela deserve to debut soon
I just realized how the Wannabe team are the shorter contestants (idk if they're the shortest but they seem shorter than the other contestants)
Am I the only one who thought that Marquise was kind of restricting herself at times, like she was hesitant to really show everything she has? Maybe it was nerves or something, I’m a bit unsure.
I’m excited to see where else she goes! She was in my top six toward the end.
Is no one gonna talk about how Manon just kept getting vote? When none of her performance was good.
agreed.
manon is in the group because of looks, diversity and star quality, not because of talent. they were pretty transparent about that in the documentary and kept saying she was a lower skill set. she was popular in fan voting too which helps
I hope Mei keeps trying to be a idol also I loved her
Is she the same Mei that trained to debit as XG
Marquise grabbed my attention from the first mission, she displayed great charisma on stage along with Ezrela in OMG, their interactions and facial expressions were great + they dance well! As you pointed out, both have a very strong idol star quality, and I would love for HYBE to consider them for another project if they both want to stay.
Geffen should consider making another group with Ezrela, Emily, Lexie and find a 4th and/or 5th member. I think they also take into account the visual of a group and the 6 girls that are in Katseye undoubtedly look great together. I’ve noticed, personally and might be something stupid, I’m more drawn to groups that have similar heights lmao idk something to think about.
Not Lexie she quit
I hope Emily debuts soon 😭😭
Samara 😢❤
marquise and ezrela are star quality trainees that was put up to elimination due to that they did not fit what they want in that lineup
The moment they announced the final members without ezrela marquise samara and Emily i confirmed the show is rigged
The only motive why Samara didn't make it to the top was because of the controversy, that's why the juries didn't choose, but my girl really deserved a place
EZRELA SHOULD'VE DEBUT... IT WAS SO UNFAIR THEY JUST DUMPED HER ... SHAMEFUL...
From the start, none of the dance trainees stood out to me because im not a dancer and dont really care for dancing. But Marquise stood out to me, I thought surely she should be the center of the final group. She definitely has star quality, I think she will debut in kpop one day, potentially in hybe
Her red hair and visual stood out to me. Her and UA. I think the biggest thing is stage presence since her singing and dancing was okay. I would have liked to learn more about her personality. For example, Ua's speciality and favorite style is heels dancing and I thought that was unique and neat. Marquise is an INTJ and she's more shy and reserved. INTJ's are known for being analytical, reserved and smart. She did that one video where she showed off her shopping haul but she seemed a bit uncomfortable in front of the camera compared to other girls who also did shopping hauls. She was drowned out by all the extraverts on the team, like Sophia (not bad or good, ppl are just different).
I would have loved to see her do something different from the crowd to stand out. Maybe sharing her favorite books as an INTJ, starting a bookclub (there's lots of bookworms out there). If she's an animal lover, sharing more about that. I'm just guessing an potential interests based on MBTI because I actually don't know what she likes. Looking forward to more. SHe was the first person i followed on insta and her and UA may be the only girls i keep
Marquise isn't extroverted enough to be a good center.
Ezrela is so talented. I was so sad she didn’t make it. But I’m sure there is only good things ahead for her. I really think Nayoung would have debuted if she hadn’t expressed doubts, and I believe Samara would have also debuted (they even let her do a tik tok with a TXT member) they wanted her to debut but then the controversy started
Samara, Lexie, Emily, Ezrela, and Ua would make a good group
im super happy w the line up i only had 3 favs and they all debuted but best of luck to ezy ik there would only be one sa debutting so i was prepared :[

Samara is good
SAMARAS VOICE WAS OUTSTANDING... SHE SHOULD'VE DEBUT ALONG WITH EZRELA.
I so sad Nayoung didn’t debut :(. Her voice in the group along side Lara would’ve been so amazing
I just realised whether you have a strong talent, if you are problematic it’s useless in this industry.
Always gunna say this but I really feel like Adela should have stayed longer she wasn’t bad at all like she was really good and had insane presence and her performance was no where near the grounds of elimination
They should make another group from these girls
The final 6 should have been Sophia, Lara, Emily, Ezrela, Daniela, and Marquise.
I really do see mei in a jpop group 100% think me:i speed or when she is older MAX
Karlee needs to debut in slayful kpop group maybe under yg or even in japan under avex. She can really sing and she has amazing presence
Brooklyn tbh isn't enough i don't even think she could compete as a white popstar, nothing really stood out to me when it came to her.
lexi is definitely a pop star in the making, her look is very marketable, i definitely see her having a pop career one day.
IF UA GETS VOCAL TRAINING IN FUTURE SHE WILL BE DANGEROUS THAT GIRL WAS TOP 3 DANCERS IN THE COMPETITION AND SHE IS SO YOUNG, I HOPE SHE GETS VOCAL TRAINING .
IF SM DOESNT NAB NAYOUNG AND DEBUT HER, THAT WILL BE A WASTED OPPURTUNITY.
MARQUISE WILL DEFINITELY BE IN A GROUP IN FUTURE She is definitely a star, her talents did fall a bit short towards the final but that girl is going somewhere.
Ezerelas stage presence is so good but i dont know if she might debut in Asia i feel like her best bet is being part of an international girl group.
EMILY SHOULD DEFINITELY BE A CHOREOGRAPHER 100% HER DANCING ABILITY IS INCREDIBLE.
Mei screams Kpop idol
I really needed Ezrela to debut, she was my motivation to stan the group 😞
I literally laughed when Manon debuted. Gave us nothing for the past 2-3 months but ppl ate it up. She would've been better as a soloist considering she lacks synergy with most if not all of her lineup.
She just got the visual
@@Jjangbunbun if ":/" is considered visual for 3-4 challenges in a row
Manon was a better singer than Emily and ezrela and had more voters than marquise so she brought promoters to the group plus samara was a racist so they would obviously choose her over them it’s not hard to get why she debuted
@@BloodyHowl69visual is about being pretty which she is
@@vickyyyn8555 I agree that Manon has the best vocal of the remaining 5 contestants. But it is staggering that she is consistently voted performance by her cohort (not fans mind you) to the point that she was only saved by fan votes barely, week after week. IMO, I saw no reason for her to stay around after challenge 2. Had it been up to me, I was hoping for either Marquise or Emily. Emily unfortunately was unlikely due to her lack of a strong fan base since day 1 despite her abilities to crush performance week after week.
The bottom line is that despite her above average (yet not spectacular) vocals, her "visuals," dance, and synergy with the remaining contestants left more to be desired especially at the final challenge.
Having visuals is more than just being pretty (there was objectively no contestant who wasn't pretty even among the 20 contestants). It's about knowing how to express the performance using facial expressions. We saw the same "visuals" week after week and ultimately gave us nothing. If those voting for her did it solely bc they think she's "pretty," yikes.
I'm going to keep my eyes out for Ezrela, Emily, Nayoung and Lexie...
Also, do we know why Lexie ended up leaving in the middle of the show?
I hope the Japanese trainees are going to debut in Hybe's first Japanese girlgroup.
Perhaps together with some of the Japanese contestants from R U Next.
There is a video about why she left "Farewell to Lexie" on Hybe Labels Plus
I think she realized last minute that being in a group wasn’t for her
People kept going on talking about how the judges chose who would win based on height.... guys, thats not true. Someone calculated the combination of the judges scores and the votes and the only people the judges score would really affect was anyone already placing 8th and above in terms of voting. Votes ultimately played a bigger role and the only real tossup was who was going to be like the last two members.
This. Dream Academy fans started having a weird obsession about height since their Break Free photoshoot. They see the short girls and brought them down as "they're ruining the group, they don't fit the concept, they look like kids". While they praised the tall girls as "they look better, they have chemistry, they look like models". Saying like the tall height is important for the cohesion, chemistry, concept of the group. It convinced many people and the short girls were tossed away. People are just being silly. But for the judges, they scored Emily high despite her being short, so height didn't matter. She was 4th place (tied with Lara) for the judges scores while 10th place for the fan votes. So she couldn't get in the group for it. The criteria is 50-50 but the fan votings really had a bigger role to the final rankings.
@@Whalien-jb7gf Exactly, Megan's the only one who really benefited from the judges score but even then it was really close. People keep coming up with reasons like "____ wouldn't have gotten in anways bc they don't fit the concept" when the rankings are right there. People needed to vote consistently. I didn't know why the height thing started so thanks for telling me!
I kinda feel like they set nayoung up because imagine telling someone your deepest secret in the comfort of your or their home and for them to just tell It to the evaluators. They set her up
Nayoung set her self up really, that's not something you tell a future employer
Wait what happened??
Nah. Her fans are overreacting and in denial. It's not a "deepest secret in the comfort of your or their home". If they focused on the evaluation video, the judges clearly said how they consult the girls if they're sure about their paths and Nayoung told them how she can see herself more as a solo and quitting the group in the next years. That's obviously a red flag to a company who is forming a girl group, especially for a Western group where easy break ups are common. They can't take the risk for her that's why she got eliminated. It's also a fact that before Dream Academy, she's always expressed how she wanted to be a soloist, that's why she left SM because she didn't want to be in a girl group. Nayoung only saw an opportunity in Dream Academy and used it as a stepping stone for her solo career.
She knew it was a reality show and they’re gonna make a documentary out of it as well on top of all the UA-cam clips that not what you’d call a set up.
@@Whalien-jb7gf weird how shes in another survival show now
If UA improves her vocals, I have no doubt that she’ll be one of the biggest idols in the industry
And we ofc know we will see nayoung soon
And nayoung is in a group of vocals girls right now!
I've heard opinions on survival shows, saying that they don't work because of a strong bias towards certain contestants or an unwise/unfair voting system. While i agree to somewhat of an extent, i think survival shows would be best if judges with professionalism, great understanding of musicality and are non-biased would be in charge of who gets to stay or go, not an audience who most of them are probably choosing unwisely out of favouritism.
Survival shows has always been biased especially regarding visuals stans that makes up for the popularity and unfair votings. But it's even worse in Dream Academy because they made it to a race war. People are so biased about races and some girls only got to use their race card despite being obviously less talented compared to other girls. Stupid fans also get mad when the judges make criticisms or give out basic infos that involves the girls' work and artistry. They can't accept the facts so they always try to twist it to victimize their picks. But the judges are actually the professionals who see the girls' talents and hard work and they know what's happening behind the scenes. Survival shows really needs to make the decision exclusive only to the judges/producers.
Nayoung could have a hard time making it as a solo artist. It’s just super competitive in Korean music industry. She also hasn’t shown enough or built up her popularity enough.
But if she debuts under hybe she definitely will be very popular. Even if she doesn’t, a lot of people know her from dream academy and the voice of Korea
@@Mimi-zm9ry yes if she debut under HYBE, but there is no indication that any of the eliminated contestants will stay with HYBE. Even debuting with HYBE, it’s still a long shot.
This! Idk why nayoung just didn't keep quiet and then go solo after the group has reached enough popularity ( like most idols do) that's why I don't even blame hybe for dropping her, cause that's just not something you tell a future employer.
Also if she does go solo in korea like you said, the market is so so so competitive especially as a solo artist idk how she is going to manage to stand out if she doesn't debut under hybe, hence why it would've been much much smarter of her to have joined the group.
@@tsuyuasui7297 exactly…also even debuting under HYBE as soloist is still tough. You have Eunbi, Yena, Somi, Chungha, etc. A dog eat dog world out there.
I hope nayoung debuts in korean group or as soloist she is so talented
she did ! Girls on Fire (jtbc)
I find it suss how multiple people left
i genuinely think adela should’ve made it farther in the competition. i feel there may have been some issues with her and hybe that made them want to eliminate her so early on
I’d love to see Ezrela, Emily, and Marquise stay at hybe. When watching dream academy those three gave me a huge kpop vibe! But even if they’ve left hybe for good I have no doubts about their future, they’re gonna do something amazing and I absolutely trust them to!
I honestly was pretty bummed about Nayoung. I just knew she was debuting. I’ll miss her. But even more, I can’t believe Samara didn’t make it!!!!! 😢 if they remake Dirty Water, I’ll be devastated to not hear her singing the chorus. My heart hurts thinking about her. I’m still happy that the final lineup is the final lineup. It was a really difficult decision to make from the beginning because they truly all were so greatly talented ❤
10:23 omg anyone has the link or name to the full dance by Emily here?
I was ready to disagree with whatever you came up with, but I almost entirely agree with everything you presented.
Definitely agree about Ua and Emily and Nayoung.
Ezrela speaking Japanese to Ua 🥹🐙
I fully expect Katseye to try to emulate Blackpink's style, especially with their member selections.
Thank you!
karlee had laryngitis during the antifragile performance. i wish we saw it when she didn't have it
Ezrela the princess ❤❤
emily is such a loss she was such a powerful energy
Naisha didn’t debut bc of betraying the company not skill set wise (I didn’t watch the video yet and I’m not sure if I spelt her name correct) Naynoung (I think that’s how to spell it) said she wanted to be a soloist and that made the judges question her and kick her out.
Lara is the most skilled singer but her tone doesnt sound that great, and sophia her voice sounds kinda weird tbh. Manon is only sound great when it comes to low voice that doesnt need to shout
Just lies upon lies 😭✋🏽
😂 Lol manon cant even come to level of lara in this life. Manon, she is only one least skilled in the group comparing her with top tire vocalist lol be happy she got position in the group dont come to lara she is because of talent not based on beauty or country favoritism!!
Ask the judge why they choose top rank Sophia / Lara over Manon be happy she got the position Samara deserve that spot ☠️😎
@@Arkv-o1n i just dont like her tone even shes the most skilled singer in the group
@@babyducklings6774no one cares many dont like manon existence in the group still she is the group so you can listen only her tone when they debut. Everyone loved lara and sophia lara vocal is top notch, manon weakest among many eliminated contestants
i’m confused. is hybe making a global kpop group or are they trying to make a global girl group that’ll promote in the western music industry? if they’re going to debut the girls into the western music industry, tbh they eliminated some of the girls who would’ve been a great fit for the group.
honestly without marquise in katseye i dont really care
i feel like Ezrela will debut in a cuter concept
Hybe is planning for another girl group y'all and I don't know why but I see emily and ezrela to comeback with this group !!!! They're such hybe material so I don't think so hybe will let them go that easily
Those two should must be given a spot without any vote, as they have trained for 2 yrs without a break, I don't think they have to go through all that again.. which is unfair...
@@Chakka_roo7 yup true but it will be fun to see them in a kpop group instead of a global girl group, and I think they both can be the already conformed members waiting for the other Korean members to join
How do you all this? Is there any place I should be looking for such updates..? pls let me know🙂
@@IsHello-n7g I totally agree with you.
@@sruthiarikatla3947 hybe ador global auditions are going on, you can search bout it for further informations
we didn't know what happened behind the camera. some may need to develop more.
I liked Emily... but only when she did cute concepts, which I don't think should be Katseye's image
JUSTICE FOR SAMARA 🇧🇷💗
OK NOW IM MISSING EMILY
i really hope if not under hybe that emily, ezrela, and marquise debut together hybe knew what they were doing pairing them up for multiple challenges
I hope it’s not just me but I think making an artist sing live while doing a vigorous dance is cruel 😅
Hybe fumbled Emily SOOO BADDD
it sucks that it mostly came down to her height and appearance. i feel like her vocals improved a lot and obviously she was the best dancer
im so glad samara didn’t debut.
I don't understand why HYBE drop samara over Manon... in my opinion Manon was the weakest among them ...
Agree
Samara was racist that’s why they picked Manon
@@kearanelson6955 how do u know that she was racist....🤣
@@exlguns6417 literally just go look it up everyone knows this already why do you think she not in the group
Only because of controversy they definitely have to take some one who is black samara was all set to debut but her controversy made manon path so easy
i may be the only one in the world who dont know nothing about the controversy about samara
Yeah I’ve never seen a clear explanation of what exactly was said or happened but I heard it was because she’s Zionist which is obviously very controversial right because of the conflict going on between Israel and Palestine and/or she had liked posts that were pro-Israel and spreading misinformation and then one post that was insensitive towards Indians
Its dumb she didn’t do anything
She had tiktok videos in her likes about Zionism, stereotypes about Indian food and apparently a church that promotes racism towards Chinese people.
Given the context of it being a global show people were understandably pretty mad about it. Even Lara who’s Indian who called her soulmate at 1 point unpinned their video together and they haven’t interacted since.
Her stans and other Brazilians are hellbent on the idea of the videos being “taken out of context” and it just being “Brazilian humor” as well as blaming manon because apparently 2 black girls can’t just co-exist. But there’s a strong difference between intent and impact. Samara probably didn’t mean any harm but many people from, the affected communities expressed that they were uncomfortable about it so she lost a lot of votes.
ỦA is the 2nd best dancer out of the 20 gals.
Agree
Rooting for my girls ezrela Emily morquise and samara 😢❤❤❤❤❤
