Do we really need a Pro version of the PS5 at this point?

Where’s your Final Fantasy VII Rebirth review
We better get a studio tour when that button goes up shill
This isn't Peach's first headline game - Super Princess Peach was a DS game starring Peach!
GAMERS!
Congrats Ralph; love from South Africa!
Congratulations on 1 million
I was there with the Division 1 damage calculation videos, using the excel sheet to get to the real dps; it's been crazy seeing this channel grow and even creating an avengers level podcast of folks I've followed the longest. Congratulations and wishing you well.
"Avengers level podcast". Is that the one where Lucy told Geoff Keighley about Infinity Stones of gaming? :P
I love how Austin always put a picture of himself when Ralph mentions him, most editors don't show their faces to the audience very often
Was that muscle head really him or joke? 🤔
Ralph, I'm a guy in my 40's, been watching YT since it began and you are one of my favourite UA-camrs. Genuine, wholesome, insightful, humble, but also willing to like what you like and hate what you hate, honestly and intelligently.
Thankyou for being you and doing what you do. Long may it continue.
Best video game critic since TotalBiscuit for me.
Most not always right and definitely misses things...
ok and....@@michaelmonstar4276
Definitely agree
Here for my weekly Austin Godzilla arms picture - I was not disappointed.
Here for my weekly news about layoffs
Jeez that's what gaming industry news feels like nowadays
Sadly, that’s what I’ve come to expect as part of these vids as someone who wants to get into game dev. Last few years have been pretty rough.
This is how I found out I was fired
Unfortunate, but true 😢
@ronaldkinacid9972 If you learned that you were fired through a news show, you deserve to work for a better company. Hope you find a job that trats their employees with the slightest respect.
I'am in for another week of: What publisher CEOs f*cked up this week.
ASSyper
Get into health care. They can't keep people
as if its exclusively publisher ceos lmao.
That actually should be the name of a specific segment
Let’s start with hiring useless consultancies like SBi to ruin your game for ESG scores.
Favourite weekly show on the internet. Keep it up sir, proud to have been a member for over 2 years!
Real shame that you're not reviewing Dragon's Dogma 2. I would happily have waited a week or three after launch to get your take on it, since I sense that it would have inspired a true deep-dive and video essay for the ages. Will look foward to Austin's review later though, no hard feelings. And congrats on the 1mil!
Something I wanna mention; Princess Peach Showtime isn't Peach's first solo game. She had her first solo game on the DS; it was a platformer called Super Princess Peach
That game was actually kinda fun, too!
Princess Peach Solo is not what I want to Google right now
it was such a cute game and statements like those are Perry erasure!!
@@TehMrLMAOO
It's literally 19 years old... Bit of a glaring oversight, just google "princess peach game"
ShillUp, I've watched you now for I don't know how many years. This series is the one I never miss. Your coverage and takes on the games industry and the criticism you offer in your reviews have really helped me enjoy a great many games. Thank you for the content you make, and congratulations on the 1 million!
Congrats on the 1Mil! I found your content first via Layman Gaming and followed you after you went on with your own approach to game news. It's really cool to see how things have progressed as well as all the additional people now involved.
Congrats on 1 mil!! I really appreciate your channel
It's the way me and all my mates get the latest news about gaming stuff
You're very concise/to the point which is good
Itll be awesome to watch as this channel continues to grow, can't wait for 10 Mil!
Super Princess Peach (2005) for the DS would like a word.
I sold so many copies of that to parents while working in retail.
Zelda TOTK: 18GB
Elden Ring: 60GB
Cyberpunk 2077: 70GB
Doom 2016 and Doom Eternal: between 60-70GB respectively
Doom 2016 and Doom Eternal Nintendo switch versions: 22 and 24GB respectively
Star Wars Battlefront collection: 72GB, for 2 games that were originally 4GB each.
Aspyr is literally the polar opposite of ID Software/Panic Button in terms of file sizing
With totk being 18 gig there is absolutely no excuse for games being so big nowadays.
@@GameTimeNLL Textures take up a lot of space. If you want all games to look like Zelda, then sure. Imagine CP2077 with Zelda's cell-shading graphics. O.o
@@Darion350 where did i say anything about cyberpunk? 70 gig is pretty justified. 70 for sw collection is not. Neither is 200gb for cod.
@@Darion350 Worse of all is games with excessive cosmetic microtransactions, every skin has to be on file in 4K texture on high poly models, ready to be called to memory the moment a game starts. Fortnite went from somewhere around 18Gb to 90GB over the years.
@@Darion350 It would be fantastic. Maybe they would get it right in the first place rather than making it right with 3 years delay with dozens of patches and sh*t show initial release.
I came here for the 1 million subscriber shout-out. Way to go skill-up! I still wish there was someone as dedicated, witty and cordial as you covering film news.
I’m not sure when I started watching your videos consistently but I remember your car interview with Cory Barlog and I just took in it’s been more than 5 years since then. You’ve been the best source for gaming content that I’ve come across. Your videos are thorough, wholesome and genuinely entertaining in themselves.
I have some really great memories of the N64 South Park game. Playing with 3 mates, huddled around a 14" portable TV and chucking yellow snowballs at my friend's. Man, I missed those days.
The cutscenes in that game were pretty funny too. They really nailed the early seasons South Park vibe.
Got it taken away from me as a kid lmao

'When I get that feelin', I gotta sing!'
With you man, felt the exact same!
Congrats on 1m!
Thanks
Yes at last!🎉😊
1m subs is well deserved, thanks for everything you do, Ralph! Your videos are the only ones I reliably come back to every single week, and I don't think I'd keep up with video game news if it wasn't for you!
Congratulations on the milestone! So well deserved! I look forward to these videos every week :)
Also, nobody gonna mention how the battlefront collection is 60gb?
Go on forums you’ll see everyone talking about the games size
@@YoshikiraaI mean in the comments on this video specifically, but I get you
Yeah because everything is uprezzed to 4k
Games nowadays are almost always around 100gb or more, what surprises you?
It's all those mods they 'forgot'to remove
After not seeing you on Laymen Gaming anymore, and not having a gaming news channel when Inside Gaming was going downhill, underneath them was a recommendation of your channel and a review of Destiny 2 Beyond light. The rest is history and its outstanding seeing you, your content, and especially your team grow. Best of luck, Skill Up!
Man, I miss the chemistry between Ralph and his brother Sam. Laymen Gaming was a great show back then.
Laymen Gaming was the best
Congrats on the 1Mil subs! I found you years ago with the weekly reset videos for The Division. I'm not sure I ever found the god rolled M1A Carbine. ;) Thank you for the years of entertainment and looking forward to many more to come.
Congrats on the million. It’s made me realise I’ve been watching you for literally years!! 😮 I found you when you were making Division build videos lol and looking back I’m pretty sure I’ve watched almost every “this week in video games”
Thank you 🙏
I’m just sad Laymen Gaming had to die for this channel to flourish. I miss it sometimes, your banter was top notch
Agreed. I can’t argue though that the increased output for SkillUp has been worth it, throw in the FPS podcast to scratch the more live / unscripted itch from LG and it’s definitely been worth it all things considered.
Laymen Gaming 2017 - 2020 was peak content, and always hold a special place.
@@toming727 they don’t banter in the fps podcast like they did in the lamon gamon days, I get that they rub elbows with the game devs and get sent codes to review games and all of that but I miss how savage they were back then, FPS is chill and many times quite boring.
That’s another thing, maybe I’m alone in this but I’d like a shorter fps with things a bit more scheduled or scripted over how rambly it is sometimes
Yeah, it's sad Skill Up didn't mention Laymen Gaming at all. I hope the brothers reunite one day.
@@clevelandbrown4571 I was surprised there was no mention of Laymen Gaming.
what happened to laymen gaming? im out of the loop. and where can i watch old eps with ralph?
Congratulations on 1 Milli 👏🏼🙌🏼🔥. Been following your content since before departure from Layman Gaming and you have become the go-to source for gaming news. Ty for what you do, Ralph
One of the VERY few channels I watch every single video for. Well deserved, very proud of you SkillUp!
I remember coming for the weekly vendor resets, watching the Lamon Gamon stuff and then finally the transition to your current show. I can't believe it has been 7 years already, that is so wild. All the best to you!
As a Jake Baldino fan, I learned of you and your channel through the FPS Podcast. And since the podcast lives on your channel, my algorithm naturally started feeding me your videos, and I couldn't be more grateful. My Watch Later playlist here on UA-cam is always full of stuff to, you guessed it, watch later. But when I see a SkillUp video drop, it is always my top priority to watch it as soon as possible. You are truly a master at your craft, and I love everything you and your team does here.
Although I'm relatively new to the SkillUp fam, I'm so proud of you for hitting 1 million. You may be thankful for the fans, but I think I speak for a lot fans when I say we are just as grateful for you and your dedication to your channel.
Excited to see what the future holds for you Ralph! Congrats again!
I followed regularly both Skillup and Gameranx for years, so it was a big surprise to have them do a collab podcast. It's now part of my saturday morning routine.
Enjoy the backlog, it’s really excellent. If you like the more podcast / freestyle format I’d also recommend Laymen Gaming that he did with his brother, it died when he left as naturally SkillUp carried it but some of the reviews and news videos were really good content with a nice bit of banter mixed in. I frequently go back and watch videos from a few years back like on Anthem & Fallout 76 just to get a really good barometer for where things are now and how things have changed (or not).
exactly same: "But when I see a SkillUp video drop, it is always my top priority to watch it as soon as possible"
@@toming727 laymen gaming = ralph and his brother? wow
Dude I remember your Division videos! It’s amazing to see how far you’ve come! Love your content 😊
I think the channel has come a long way and its always been fire, the milli subs is well deserved
Congrats Ralph 🙂. I’ve really grown to appreciate your view on things and you are among the first people I turn to for my news and reviews (even if something big inevitably drops on the day of upload). Thank you for everything. Please give my regards to everyone on the team as well as Sam and Alec. Looking forward to the next 1 million.
Congrats on a milly btw! Sometimes I forget that I first found you when I was grinding out the Division. Your transition to general reviews and news was so seemless. You've truly grown into one of my most trusted voices in this space and I'm so glad you've been able to grow in this space. Keep it up. Can't wait to see what you do next (and what massive news drops just after this video goes live)
HBD Ralph! And thank u so much for the only show I watch on a weekly basis on any media. The Automata review truly resonated in me and ultimately made me buy a PS4 and my Steam wishlist is just packed with your recommendations. Much love from Finland to you and the team, keep up the stellar work.
Congrats Ralph, you are legit one of the best game reviewers on here. What I love about your reviews is that regardless if I agree with your opinion of the game or not you always do an excellent job of putting in context how you got to your conclusion/opinion/score and is a pleasure listening to you talk about those games. When I found your channel I really didn't like the longer videos, I was used to and actually still prefer to watch 10 to 15 minutes reviews. Yet somehow you managed to become one of my favorite game reviewers and one I always look forward to hearing talk about a game (I was bummed you didn't end up reviewing BG3 but I understood when you explained why). Also when you started doing these Week in Videogames video they immediately became one of my favorite videos to watch every week, back when they would drop on Tuesdays I knew I had a good video to watch during my break or lunch at work.
Even the FPS podcast is the only 2 hours plus podcast I listen to, if a video or podcast is longer than 1 hour or so my chances of watching it full decrease by a lot. But I'm here for your content I'm excited to see what else you have up your sleeve, so far you haven't disappointed
Hey Ralph, congrats on the 1M sub milestone!
I was a bit sad that Laymen Gaming didn't get a shoutout during your Feel Good segment. I personally started following you during that era of your career and have really fond memories of you guys.
Either way, looking forward to all you have in store for the next year! Keep it up
Was going to say the same, but you said it better than I probably could.
@@ENDfilms44 Thanks!
@@violentpursuiti was thinking the same thing.
I thought the same thing. I've noticed before that whenever Ralph talks about his youtube past and how he got to here, he never mentions Laymen or his brother. It's a glaring and pointed omission. I hope the brothers didn't have a falling out.
Agreed - it was a big part of the late 2010’s gaming content era. It’s a shame it ended so abruptly really.
Found you through laymen gaming years ago and im so glad i stayed for the ride.
Happy to see you get that 1 Mil, even in time for your birthday (happy belated birthday!), I greatly appreciate you and your crew's work. This has become one of my favorite sources for news and indie recommendations. Keep up the great work, I am excited to see how things will continue grow and evolve in the future!
Thank you for quality videos! I’ve been tuning into this week in video games every week since 2020 and discovered Risk of Rain 2 thanks to you and now it’s one of my favorite games
Love you SkillUP I watched all those old division videos from the beginning and still follow. Appreciate you
Congrats on 1 million ShillUp, I always look forward to your videos every week.

Congrats on the million subs! I look forward to your video weekly. Thank you for all you do.
Happy birthday and congratulations on 1mil! Absolutely love your reviews, your writing and sense of humor. Much love from Brazil.
Congrats on the 1 mil - Lamon Gamon veterans salute you
Totally forgot about those days. now that you mention it I kinda miss it
Wonder how Sam and thiccccc boy are doing?
God I loved laymen gaming
Maybe Ralph will bring back the crusty couch for a special episode if the old guard makes sufficient noise 😂
I loved when thicc boi wouldncome around
Congrats on the 1 mil sub!!! You deserve all that and more!! I never miss your weekly updates.
Congrats on the 1mil!! I remember the weekly vendor videos and watching all the builds and breakdowns from the Division days. I’m happy to have been here and see you hit the 1 million mark!!
Congrats to the entire SkillUp team. You guys are all awesome. Love the content Ralph, keep it coming.
Crazy I've been here since early in the Division 2. I used to watch this channel and some other channel called "Laymen Gaming" I loved that channel, especially during the Fallout 76 disaster
The Laymen making fun of fallout, Destiny, & Anthem was great
I do miss the bros together
No Bull. I miss his bro. Hope he doing well
Congrats on the 1 million subs! Fully deserved and here’s to the next mil! Honestly some of my favourite content on YT and it’s been great to see the channel and the team expand over the last few years ❤
Damn. Remember I found you while playing The Division.
Your weekly recap videos are the best gaming related videos on UA-cam. And they arrive every week with such quality.
Love your content. 100% deserve the 1mil sub. Congrats and see you at 2mil.
How dare you forget about the Peach game on the DS.
🎉 Congratulations to the 1 000 000 🎉
Shoutout to seeing you on Laymen Gaming with your brothers. Funny seeing you guys talk about games
Love ya man. Love your channel. It was great meeting you way back at Tennocon. And as far as your new project, I hope it's Lego ASMR.

Ralph you're one of the few gaming news youtubers I genuinely look forward to hear your quirky Aussie banter and well written news updates!
I remember those division one vendor reset videos. They were great man. Always glad to see you still here and growing man.
Ive been consistently watching since your review on Nier Automata and hope to watch for many years to come. Out of all the game reviewers on youtube, I feel you are the most connected to the audience and the additions to your team have made it easier to experience that. I hope you never lose this passion and I wait for the day that I see your team hosting your own game awards (or at the very least, being a larger part of future gaming). Thank you.
Congrats for your birthday and 1mil subs! Im one of those Division 1 players who found you back then 😁 Loved the Laymen era also but these weekly news videos have become my favorite, can't live without them anymore! 😅

So awesome to see you hit the 1 mill! Been here since your division content and so cool to see you come up the way you have.
Great, now new ground breaking news can finally happen immediately after this is publish! Thanks shillup for keeping the industry rolling
As someone that has been watching you since your early Division 1 days, I'm so happy that you have blown up and have become one of the best video game reviewers out there. (Yes I live vicariously through your accomplishes).
This Week in Video Games is always my favorite video of the week, and has really expanded my love and understanding of this hobby. Cheers on the mil, you deserve it!

Thanks for all the content over the years Skill Up team! Congrats to y’all
Congrats on 1M subscribers Skill-up! I started my journey with this channel in Division 1 and it was mostly joy-ride ever since.
Summer Game Fest is still like 2% of what E3 was.
But the collection of other better showcases is well over 5x better than E3.
(Particularly looking at the Wholesome Direct to show off truly creative titles, unlike what E3 ever showed).
@@haruhirogrimgar6047 yeah sure, the wholesome direct will show off anything good. as if. its just gonna be copy paste "cozy" games with black lesbian characters trying to emulate the success of Stardew Valley. there is literally not a single unique idea in any of these cozy games that will be shown at that dogwater Diversity Direct.
I don't do comments, but this one is special for me and for you. I started watching you in your division days, at the time where you were a channel I watched because I wouldn't bother check every vendor each week. I appreciated what you did, but I didn't love it.
Then you made an announcement, you said : "Hey guys, I don't wanna do this anymore." I though this was ballsy and I wanted to see what would happen next.
Now, over 7 years later, I watch every video that comes out not because I'm bored or I wouldn't bother checking on reviews myself or reading/watching video games news sources, but because I truly love your way of doing it, your style, your content.
This is one of many comments but I'm glad I stuck around and I hope you are too. Many thanks.
Thank you for providing me with weekly entertainment and keeping me in the loop. Love you and the team, congratulations on 1 million, you truly deserve it.
Congrats on the 1M, Ralph! Well deserved, mate. Thanks for all the content over the years. I wish you and the team even more success in the future. Cheers boys!
The co-optional podcast put this channel on my radar since 2017, that introduction is one of the last things I am grateful to TB for . Have enjoyed the content ever since, congrats on 1 mil!
Oh wow, I think that's how I discovered Ralph too! I just forgot until now. Yeah, TB would be proud. RIP.
Happy belated birthday Shill Up! Congrats on 1 mil. Fully deserved and well overdue
I wandered onto this channel from Laymen Gaming years ago. I remember when you started the weekly news. You've earned this.
Happy birthday, Ralph! And a big congrats to you and the team. I've been really enjoying the ride.

Where’s your Final Fantasy VII Rebirth review
He’s still playing it
He's been traveling and said he's gonna 100% that game, which takes time. It'll come in the next few weeks I'd imagine.
Balatro coming to mobile is DANGEROUS
Congratiolations on the one million subs. I love your reviews and videos, because they are much more nuanced and go much further in depth than other yt channels do. The quality and style are great, I hope to see you surpass the next million soon.
One of my few weekly must-see videos. Never change please :)
Dude where are your reviews at…
Tbh, I prefer him focusing on WGN. There's plenty of UA-camrs who review games
who cares?? his game tastes are super mid. he unironically thinks that guardian of the galaxy game has good writing and is a masterpiece. go watch some other tuber review whatever game you are looking for, there is literally hundreds, and lots of smaller creators who arent on a publishers payroll, who could use your view.
He’s travelling, he’s mentioned it in multiple videos…
@@selectionn alright well I just don’t agree with that true and I clearly resonate with his review style and takes if he am asking for his reviews
He reviewed 3 games last month! It's just that two of them happened to be Skull & Bones and Suicide Squad, lol. He said he's working on FF VII Rebirth as well but he's been traveling, presumably for more previews that will come in the next few weeks.
Very strange that for the past 3 episodes, you haven't mentioned anything about the Sweet Baby Inc saga. That was the biggest news in games a week ago.
Yeah I'd prefer Ralph to stay outta this one. It's covered enough.
Nah he's right tho. Being silent about it isn't good journalism
@bdothitman4346 He made a big deal a few episodes ago about coving lay-offs because it was gaming news and should be covered.
It seems very strange that he's totally silent on a very big story that has been going on. He covers other issues that are political, even if it's just a few minutes mention
Except there was no actual news, it was just a bunch of conspiracy-minded losers overreacting to nothing. As if woke Twitter trying to cancel everyone isn't bad enough, now there's "anti-woke" people behaving in the *exact same way*. Can we please just be allowed to live our lives and game in peace?
@@ryanekstrom209no he isn't. Not everyone has to cover the "big" story -- that's redundant journalism, which is actually a bad thing.
Congratz @SkillUp for such an amazing growth from the beginning. I don't recall when I landed on one of your videos but since then I'm sticking and watching them all! I will still be there for a long time! Thanks for all these good videos!
Congrats on a milli man! I look forward to your videos every week and they've become an essential part of my routine. Here's to a million more 🎉

Congrats on the subscriber milestone! I've only discovered you recently but I really do appreciate your work and informative reviews :3
Congrats on the 1 million subs Ralph. I'm so happy you found what worked for you when it comes to your creative outlet and the direction of the channel.
