I visited hawaii back in mid 2004. This album was for sale at a shop. I didnt even know who these people were. I just got it because i wanted some hawaiian music to take back to the states. I was completely blown away by the music. I feel instantly in love with this album. It reminds me of my visit.
I'm so very proud of my tutu kane "IKUA PURDY " and his legacy. Which is what this song is about. Basically IKUA PURDY, and 2 other paniolo from Hawaii went to Wyoming, to compete in the rodeo. When all the dust and dirt settled and the event was over, the one and only IKUA PURDY stood flawlessly victorious and also setting a world record. I'm so proud to be the great grandson of the great, late IKUA PURDY as well as a part of the purdy ohana. Thank you kuana Torres kahele, and the rest of na palapalai for honoring and remembering my tutu kane and his historical accomplishments in hawaii with this beautiful song. Mahalo nui.

Ben Low and Archie Kaaua. All 3 of them very historical figures in Paniolo and Hawaiian culture.
