- Maren Morris and Brittany Aldean are feuding. It all started when Brittany posted a caption that some viewed as transphobic, where she thanked her parents for not ‘changing her gender’ when she was going through a ‘tomboy phase.’ While some stars reacted positively, Maren slammed Brittany and called her a ‘scumbag human.’ Not long after, Maren’s husband, Ryan Hurd, and Brittany’s husband, Jason Aldean, chimed in to support their wives.

The two aren't even remotely connected, and so why Brittany brought transitioning up in the first place is baffling. But then to imply that being trans is just a phase? That's pretty harsh and damaging if you're trans.
When I was a kid I would wear my Mum's high heals. It was a phase I grew out of. I spent a lot of time with my Mum and I wanted to be the kind of person she was - kind, loving, caring, supportive and so incredibly strong. I didn't feel that I was in the wrong body and never have. I'm not trans and I didn't suffer from gender dysphoria. My Mum, however, was a tomboy when she was a kid, and likewise, she grew out of that phase. She wasn't trans.
The issue Cassadee and Maren, and indeed a lot of people have with Brittany's statement is that no one is changing their child's, or indeed their own gender because their child is a tomboy or dresses up girly. Being a tomboy does *not* make you trans. And being trans is definitely *not* a phase, and implying it is a phase is so damaging, it belittles those emotions, make you feel invalid, unimportant and unworthy. By comparing a phase a lot of children go through with actually transitioning, Brittany, intentionally or not, made a lot of trans men and woman feel insignificant - we've all heard stories or experienced gay and bisexual people being told "it's just a phase, you'll get over it" and that cuts deep and can cause a lot of hurt and damage.
Had Brittany commented about how she feels their should be an age restriction on gender affirmation treatments then I doubt we'd have an issue. To a point I agree with some of what she has come out and said AFTER being called out. But to start out by comparing a phase with transitioning? That's the issue. It's time people stopped belittling others, it's time some people stop mouthing off about things they don't know anything about. But that change only comes when we stand together, hand-in-hand and speak up to people who put others down, and that's exactly what Cassadee and Maren did.

A child is not fully developed. They lack the maturity to make mature and well thought out decisions. A CHILD SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO MAKE SUCH DRASTIC AND PERMANENT CHOICES. they are unaware of everything that comes along with the transition process. Transitioning is not simply waking up after surgery and being their desired gender. The medical complications, the physical and mental trauma is grueling. If a fully developed, mentally capable ADULT wants to make that decision, that’s perfectly fine. Subjecting children to that degree of trauma is abuse. Saying so is not transphobic by any means.
Not Marren being the bully and throwing with mean girls like insults at someone. The Aldeans never said one insult nor targeted these women’s appearances. And it isn’t wrong to care about the children who are being used and abused by their parents and our government in order to push an agenda and ruining them for life by putting them in these kind of surgeries and mental abuse.

I would rather go with my kid to talk to a counselor first to process what is going on than make a flippant decision about letting them transition with hormones and surgery at such a young age. Your correct I don’t know what it’s like to transition.. I can say that I watched a little girl at the age of 12 decide she wanted to become a boy. Her mother found her a therapist who specialized in transgender, which also convinced her furthermore. Her father knew that she was confused and needed help with finding and excepting herself. When she was 17 she realized she no longer wanted to be a boy and was not going to start hormones. If her father would not have protected his daughter her mother would have had her on the hormones. I’m not saying this is the case for everyone.. clearly everyone’s story is unique. I respect everyone! I just think that as children we have trauma and sometimes we may be completely unconscious of why the trauma is there. I think we should focus on healing internally before making changes externally. If we do that then maybe we can find away to love thyself truly. My religion is LOVE!❤️

Fast forward a decade or so later, and she had extensive medical issues regarding her "bottom surgery" because the hormones blockers they pumped her with at a young age prevented growth of the male anatomy and so she didn't have enough "material" to transform during the surgery. The problem with society today is that parents or peers will see a girl as a "tom boy" and tell her "you can be a boy if you want to, let's put you on puberty blockers" parents, teachers and society are confusing these kids for their own sick agenda. Transgenderism remains a wholly incoherent worldview. Every time I ask a trans person or advocate how they "know" they're the opposite gender, the inevitably answer by confusing the inclination/disinclination to adhere to certain gender roles or norms with gender itself. That, or they say something like "I just feel like a man". But that's incoherent too since none of us have a basis for that comparison. We've all only been just the one gender, so we'd have no way of knowing the difference between "feeling like" a man vs. "feeling like" a woman or indeed if there is such a difference at all.
