Kind of surprised the Unobtanium didn’t get a mention, but my favorite dual overdrive is definitely the Protein. It was the first pedal that knocked the Duelist off my board (which is also very good), and I have never looked back.

The Unobtanium is awesome! And with the extra footswitch it's a 3 channel.

The KingTone “The Duellist” is the best I’ve played. I have the KOT and Gladio as well and had some others before, but The Duellist is one of the best there is.

The right side of the Duellist, or just a Soloist, one of best pedals ever.

If anyone who has a king of tone and isn’t impressed, make sure u play with the interior presence trim pots before you go and list it for sale.
I finally got mine a little over a year ago and I really liked it but then found it a bit lifeless compared to other pedals. I turned the trimmers up and its now one of my mainstays. I ended up turning them both up to around 75%, give it a try!

    Hi people,
    I play bass...
I’ve been using Xotic pedals for many years. RC Bass Booster mainly.
They do most of their pedals now as a single pedal, but with an extra boost function/ footswitch.
So they’re more or less like a double pedal in a single housing.
Because the boost comes before the drive, I don’t like it that much because it compresses too much for my taste.
But, I think Xotic pedals are great! They’ve got the best tones and best quality.
I’ve had their RC Bass Booster on two boards (different bands) for about 12 years or more. I bought two extra ones as back-ups if anything goes wrong..., but I never had to use one.
I loved the Way Huge Camel Toe double pedal too, but it died on me after about a year...
    Cheers!
    🖖

Mason, there is a mathematical formula for how many guitars you should own. Formula = current guitars + 1 (BTW it works equally well with pedals)

I’ve used a JHS Double Barrel and it’s done extremely well for me!

My favourite Dual OD pedal is the Rodenberg TB Drive Shakedown Special. Built like a German tank, it has the gorgeous vocal midrange of a great old TS808 married with the top end punch of a TS9. Worth checking it out! Btw: Uli Rodenberg is the Mason Marangella of Germany. 🙂

My faves would be the JHS Double Barrel (love the BB), Fulltone Full Drive 2, and I use the 10th Anniversary MOSFET edition, the Crowther Double Hotcake, and the Electro-Harmonix Hot Wax.
I’ve never had a Jekyll & Hyde, so the hardest overdrive for me to put on a board was the Ibanez Tube King (the square one with the stomp switch on one corner).

I have a duellist and a king of tone and they are great but
    Diamond j drive was amazing
And the fulltone full drive 2 I loved too I know a lot of people don’t use them anymore but I love em.

I’ve been enjoying the Crazy Tube Circuits Unobtanium, playing with the Dumble side pre and post FX loop, and the Klon side running into that or stacked before other drives/distortion. It can also toggle a ‘3rd’ ODS boost with external footswitch.
I’ve also played with the Wampler Plexidrive Deluxe but that is more a Marshall drive with TS flavoured boost. Next one I’m keen to try is the Boss/JHS Angry Drive for the compact form factor and parallel mode

I’ve been hooked on the duel overdrives for years now! The BB Plus has been my main distortion for years, and I’m hooked on my Duellist that’s on my new rig Brian built for me ❤️

In my experience, it is a difficult exercise to stack two independent overdrives that play nice with your set up. However, company’s that make good duel overdrives often are designed to complement each other. I just purchased a Cornerstone Imperium, which I think is a good example. However, like you state, it doesn’t have TRS switching capability to allow my to use my Boss ES-8 to control both sides.

I have a dual Hot Cake and a Dual Hudson Broadcast in a switcher. I keep them close to me so I can use them independently of the switcher. But I love them both and have different applications for each overdrive channel. Great topic!

Origin Effects RevivalDRIVE & RevivalDRIVE Hot Rod. I have both on my pedal board. Extremely 'tweakable' but you do need to read the manual and spend some time dialing them in. They are the most amp like pedals I have ever played by far. Granted I haven't played every OD pedal out there. Very pricey but they do exactly what I want, so worth it for me.

This inspired me to dust off a Xotic AC plus that stopped working about 8 years ago. I managed to diagnose the problem (one of the pots in the active eq) and fix it (not bad for my rudimentary pedal skills). I’d forgotten what a good pedal it is.
I’d also chuck the Pettyjohn Petty Drive in there. They seem to fly under the radar a bit but their stuff is really beautifully made. I’ve got an old V1 but it hasn’t left my board in years.

I have a small board & 5 port power supply. I use the D&M drive to cover a wide range of gain/overdrive sounds. Coupled with mythos golden fleece and it’s all gravy baby

The only dual pedal I own is a TMG DRHive (David Ryan Harris signature) the ‘more’ side is definitely a germanium fuzz and quite a good one. Other side sounds great on edge of breakup but I’ve never been able to work out what circuit it’s a copy of… any ideas out there??

I have tried all of these awesome dual drive pedals. Really . . . one can have any one for the rest of your lives, and be privileged to do so.. However, until you all try the Kingsley "Harlot V3" (*or any other Kingsley dual drive) you are unfortunately not seeing the entire picture .:)

VERTEX, you should look into using DUAL compressors using one compressor pedal#1 as an Overdrive pedal driving into another compressor pedal#2 used as a SAG amplifier. The compressor pedal used an overdrive pedal you turn the RELEASE to zero while the compressor pedal#2 you adjust the Ratio and Release to act like a tube amplifier Sagging effect.

I like the concept of dual but i am more into the single versions like the BB exotic Andy Timmons and the nobles separately awesome used together they are on another level but again every ear is different use what helps you play music spend time getting better as a player then use the pedals as a sprinkle of magic.

Its amazing to me that no one brings up Stan Cotey's pedals @Fender like The Santa Ana Overdrive or The MTG Tube Distortion pedal? Or anyof the other wonderful drive pedals they came up with...smh. I guess its because Fender is a big company or something, but then again I've heard so much about The Marshall line of Drive pedals & they are a big company as well. People are really missing out on these Fender pedals that were designed by Stan Cotey & his wonderful team of people at Fender.

To pronounce Ibanez in a Spanish way, it has to be written with the letter Ñ: IBAÑEZ. And it is not written like that by the Japanese. But it's not how they pronounce it in English either.
