    What I loved:
    - The shape and form factor
    - The weight
    - The consideration of lifetime
    Questionable aspects:
    - Why does a vehicle like this need to go any faster than 90 mph?
    - Why bother with the back seat instead of having batteries there and leaving the front free for a frunk?
    - Why not make it more affordable, especially if you want to make a new Beetle? Would be far more popular if it were in the £28-32K range. Start by having a less powerful motor with lower top speed.

      As Tesla has proven, it's a good strategy to go for the high-end market first, since it's more profitable. The money made from that can then be used to develop a lower-cost version, leveraging economies of scale. Trying to build a production line from nothing with no revenue is a tall order for investors.

      I think, that this is form factor that would we viable for ~$10k, mostly for ppl 18-30 yrs old before they start a family or for single ppl of any age…

      I personally think it doesn't look bad at all. Unlike most EVs which look atrocious. However a car like this won't be street legal in most countries, and I doubt it will be around as long as those cars it seeks to emulate.

The Trailer could have fully-charged batteries, built into the underside of the Trailer, nothing fancy, say an extra 15kWh would (or could) be your Reserve Energy Supply, to carry you an extra 50 miles. I absolutely love the idea of emulating the VW people’s car, but then he said £40,000 and it became “wealthy people’s car”. They can figure out innovative battery chemistry, but can anyone master a basic sedan without a super computer than can be produced for a £12-20,000 retail price?

      Yeah I agree, but computers are cheap so that is NOT the reason these things are expensive.
      The reason is greed and that it's a new tech.

    • @walterrowntree7031
      @walterrowntree7031 2 роки тому

      A learner/newer driver version: that's an interesting thought. I'll pass it along to the CEO - maybe in a few years we can do something like this. It would have to be very much distinguishable from the 'real' versions so as not to dilute the brand image. Maybe something with similar styling, but clearly different, and maybe under a different brand name, possibly even licensed out. I'd be concerned about sacrificing safety, but maybe a model limited to 25 mph?

      Yeah I've been following the Nobe for a couple yrs. Same with Aptera. Nobe would be great for the European old cities. But when you have space the F150 base at the same or less price just smokes this. Now if they can bring the price point down to 3/5th of the base f150 then it might have a US market. At least the Nobe can be a 3 seater.
