Aww that's amazing for him to be seen and heard for so long. I've heard that tune your grandpa played many many times at Fiddlers Conventions in the past.
This was my Grandpa Lonnie Goforth, and yes he could cut loose. My Uncle Arthell was even better! I loved those years, and want to thank Mr Hoffman, and Mr Lunsford for making the film's about the wonderful music from the mountains of Western NC.
What's that tune called? I hear it a lot. I have a Mike Seeger record where he calls it The Fishin' Blues, and another record from a band named Fiddle Fever which I think calls the tune the Tennessee Blues. Mike sings, "Here's a little something i'd like to relate, any fish'll bite if you got good bait, I'm a goin fishin, yeah im a goin fishin, you're a goin fishin too."
Doing some listening, this song is very likely "east Tennessee blues" i think fishin blues is just a similar sounding song, or the East Tennesse blues with lyrics. Again thats thats East Tennessee Blues, not the Tennessee blues.
As I watch this, I wonder what Grandpa would say in the 60's if we told him that he would have so many people still listening to him play!!!
That is your grandfather?!?
@@jesekawika375 yes. He lived in Spring Creek, NC. When I saw this I just sat in the floor and cried. I Love you!!! ❤

Look at the modest way he looks around almost as if he's unsure why the fuss ... cold chills
