    Love your Superduty videos and that PoV camera is great! I happen to be an engineer at Ford Motor Co who works on the Selectable Drive Mode Feature and since you are reviewing it today I couldn't help but want to share some information on it. For Slippery mode the vehicle response becomes tuned for optimum traction and stability. Some of the changes include: The shift schedule is optimized for slippery conditions. The throttle response becomes less aggressive which is why you felt it was less power but full power is actually still available when needed, the accelerator pedal will just require more input vs Normal mode. The AWD is optimized for higher level of preemptive torque to allow fast response to slip and most importantly the brake controls (traction control and electronic stability control) are optimized for low mu surfaces. Essentially the TC and ESC are tighter, initiate sooner vs normal mode, and help prevent less sliding.
    So there are various things happening in the background that you might not feel but are working to help enable confident driving and make the vehicle easier to control on low mu surfaces. Hope that helps! If you have any questions on the other drive modes feel free to ask :)

      @yoyo 19 LOL lights are accounting would have added $5-7K to base trucks to make standard. AND they are not serviceable the whole assembly has to be replaced. not good if you are doing CDL work.

    • @Kevin09210
      @Kevin09210 4 роки тому

      @yoyo 19 i would do it no joking. That door latch problem is a serious safety concern. The issue goes even to global ford models such as the T6 ford ranger. I have one and I've had to replace 2 latches en less than 2 years and their is no recall from Ford to replace them. I've also read that its a common issue and that eventually, all latches fail, so i have still 2 latches to go, lol. I love my truck and anything could fail and I dont mind, because im a mechanic and like fixing cars, but the door latch is inexcusable. NO door latch from any manufacturer fails in such a short time. So.. i would punch thay guy in the face, lol.

    I like the center pov camera angle. I have a motorcycle with ride modes - Econ, Rain among them. The ride modes change throttle response, shift points, suspension response, braking response... very cool that a big truck does this too. My 150 only has the tow/haul and sport modes and the throttle response and shift points are noticeably different than regular mode. Love the snow.

But those conditions look like a blast to drive in and the truck seems to handle it just fine. I'm eager to see the truck with the 37's and the Tremor air dam. Do you plan on leveling the truck or doing a big lift? Personally i love how the factory wheels look wrapped in some meaty but not overly aggressive 37's with a leveling kit.

    My old 7.3 was not for inexperienced drivers in the snow. Let off the brake at a light an she would just spin at idle. I have turned off the advancetrac off and it still intervenes when it "feels" like the truck is out of control. I hate the "nannies" on these new trucks but 90% of the new trucks since the 6.7 first came out would be destroyed. Because most people truly have no idea about what they are actually doing. 650lbft in the 6.4 would tear up tires bad if you were not easy on them. I've managed to eat through the stock tires on my 19 in 36000km(the rotation seems to always have the same tires on the rear when I'm towing th rv). I have contemplated test driving a 2020, as my dealer just got two(6.2 xlt, and a king ranch 6.7) one of the other dealers in town had a platinum tremor and it sold, at 10 hours on the lot.
