Very good video to DIY. Mielie (German guys) is otherwise a bit complicated compared to other north American brands. Their screws are different. Panels are at bottom. New water intake valve of Mielie is $351 Canadian compared to $45 for other American brands. Scott used just one costing $25 . I am going to try it. Thanks Scott for the nice video.

Hi Scott, I do not find Mielie Futura Classic Dishwasher intake valve in Canadian Market except at Mielie. Could you kindly advise the part # you used and shown in the video? I may get it from US thru a friend. Appreciate your help.
I am so glad I found this video. I have the same model and I think I have the same problem. My dishwasher is only 7.5 years old. Miele charges $289+tax to come out and the valve is over $350+tax in Canada. Way too expensive to repair by Miele. I will try your way first. If I cannot save it, I will just buy another one… I am disappointed with Miele. They definitely not last 20 years.

Great video. Scott mentioned inspecting the water filter (and showed how) and sure enough, that was my problem. Would like the part number to the fill valve he replaced in case I need to replace it at some point.

EASY FOR YOU TO SAY! Unfortunately my Miele dishwasher has had several 'PROBLEMS". I thought I was getting top of the line no problem dishwasher, NOT SO!
What happened with yours?
It won't fill with water, @@ScottTheFixItGuyChannel I have to use liquid wrench on the locking devise to get the door shut, and already had to replace the lower rack, wheel fell off.
I have this same model and the same problem. Going to try this fix next weekend.

Thanks for this. I fixed my Futura this weekend that was frozen open, i.e. constantly filling, after watching your video. Mine is the model with a salt tank meaning there is less room to install the new valve. There were some adjustments required to the new valve to make it fit. Worked though...thank you!
@matthewyeayer2000, I have the same model as yours which has a salt tank. Could you please let me know what adjustment is required to the new valve to make it fit into the tight space? Thanks!

I just fixed the problem I had on my Futura using your video. The dishwasher was slowly filling up due to the inlet valve not closing completely. I suspect this was due to the large rubber washer on the intake side of the valve having partially decomposed with some debris preventing complete closure. Not a great design. Also, you can find the line and the adapter for ~$30 in a kit.

My Miele has the same issue. The machine is 18 years old. I don’t want to undertake the repair myself. Is it worth having it repaired given the age of the machine?
