Nice. Don’t live in the UK now but this brings back memory’s my friend lives down Peartree Bridge and I have been over this double round about thousands of times over the years. And your right you need to watch for the people not familiar with this layout. Subscribed. Just so I can see my old stomping grounds.
Thanks James. I hope you don't mind me pointing out James, that I feel, it should never be viewed as a 'choice' of 2 lanes to go same direction.. Its same principal as any dual lane road , use left unless you have a known reason to use the right.. Eg busy in left, or slower vehicles etc in left. It's the word 'choice' or 'allowed' which I am uncomfortable with.
I think whenever offered more than one lane which goes in the direction you wish to go it is best to choose the one which is furthest to the left. This should ultimately guide you to the normal driving lane after completing the junction. Typically these junctions are prone to having drivers who change lanes mid-junction not realising they are doing so and avoiding being alongside other vehicles is sensible.
@@JamesTravis In my experience if you use lane 1 (where permitted) to turn right you are vulnerable to being cut up by lane 2 users who are oblivious of both lanes being acceptable to use to turn right. This can be handled by driving next to a space and not next to a vehicle if they change lanes. If you use lane 2 you are vulnerable to ending up in lane 2 at the end where you are vulnerable to a combination of tailgaters and others in lane 1 not undertaking but driving just off the back of you and when you reach the speed limit you are a bit snookered. In general motoring you could do a rapid burst of acceleration up to 10 mph above the speed limit, moving across and dropping to within the limit. Not a test option but I do not see remaining in lane 2 at the exact speed limit with congestion building up as a viable choice.
Yeah very true because if it’s your first time driving in that area or a area similar to this one, things can go upside down very quickly, even for experienced drivers 😂😂
These small but unusual roundabouts need to have clear road markings to assist drivers. MK Council are not doing a great job of maintaining some of them; e.g. I've noticed that the markings have worn away on parts of the Roman "B&Q" double roundabout and it seems that some drivers approaching from the Denbigh roundabout are actually crossing over the "Give Way" lines and entering the "first" roundabout without realising it.
I totally agree with you and I just recently moved to MK and am fairly a new driver. I am seriously struggling with finding the right lane as the markings are worn off. That's why I am here and watching @jamesTravis...
So you don't need to come onto the roundabout signalling right if the right hand lane is for going straight forward, I noticed that going straight is slightly past 12 o clock but people don't indicate right when entering the roundabout?
Hi I have a quick question regarding manouvres as I have a test in 2 weeks, if you could please answer I would be so grateful thank you. So say you are performing the reverse parallel park, and the road is too narrow for oncoming traffic to get past you if you were to stop. What should you do? Should you finish the manouvre once oncoming traffic has stopped and waited for you to clear the road or do you ditch the manouvre and move off?
That’s a great question, thank you. If during your manoeuvres a car approaches you should give way when they are about 6 cars away. When they stop, you check round and proceed, if they move forward, you repeat the procedure.

Thank you Travis! I passed today and your videos helped me so much especially this one
Great job! Congratulations 🎉
Sir you are way better than many instructors in uk your videos are enough to clear a lot of doubts ❤
Thank you and safe driving
Hi Travis. Thank you for uploading these.
I really struggle with these, so i will be watching your video a lot 😊
Again, thank you.
Happy to help

Good old MK 😃@@JamesTravis

Good point!

It is interesting that whenever I go through roundabouts like these, I find that each student tends to have a favourite side.

This is where having local knowledge can actually help.

Yes local knowledge does help

Hi there can you make a video for roundabout right lane to change left.,
On a single roundabout or a spiral roundabout?

@@JamesTravis thank you so much, are you available for mock tests at all at short notice? (Northampton)
Is it true your area in Milton Keynes has so many roundabouts? 😮😅
Thank you for the video
its more than true, there is way to many
Yes there is over 50
Was that your dog in the trunk?
😂
This is so confusing
These are a lot harder to master. Just takes time and practice.
