The moment when Jermaine looked left and smiled at Mike brought a tear to my eye.
Because it’s a nice moment?
that little skinny boy was the real deal. Miss you mike mike.
💯 and that's fo sho
MJ is so energetic
I just called him 'the energizer battery' Lol❤
The word is grit and of raw something. Oh good ness
It's so clear and obvious Michael's ambition far exceeded just being on stage with his brothers. He had tasted solo success and there was no turning back. The energy and hunger in his vocals here are incredible - he outperforms and overshadows his older brother easily. Such a moment.
Still all the brothers together were fantastic
"Outperformed? Overshadowed?" This isn't a competition, this is a performance. Everything you hear in this song was designed, concepted, written and produced to sound like it did. This song was written by Michael Omartian for Jermaine (his key, the chords he's most comfortable in___and designed to be sung while PLAYING bass!). Omartian knows them well____they have worked together almost a decade at this point. Michael's role (by design) is as a featured vocalist taking advantage of his ability to scale higher chords. That's what makes the song work as well as it did. You guys are gonna need some education and sophistication along with your fandom if you're gonna continue to post commentary on the internet.
He’s the main vocalist on literally every song duh he’s gonna outperform them😭
Huh? You're making it up to fit YOUR understanding of things. Jermaine went solo first. You want to revisit that little blurb concerning "ambition"?
@@texsion Ditto.
I would've given anything to see Michael with his brothers one last time. ♡
This❤
I've seen MJ twice solo and him with his brothers 5 times. There's nothing that even comes close to seeing the entire group together.
@@yourfairyking That's because you probably never experienced them together in a live setting. I MUCH prefer the J-5/Jacksons material over his solo stuff. The true magic is all of them together. His brothers NEVER got in the way. Rather they all enhanced each other. I've seen the original Jackson 5 twice, The Jacksons 3 times and the Bad Tour twice. As great as the Bad Tour was, The Triumph Tour in 1981 remains one of THE best concerts I've ever seen in my life. That's the concert that became the Jacksons Live album.
There was them at 30th anniversary in 2001 that’s literally the one last time you ask for…
I saw Victory Tour spectacular!
daaaaamn mike tore that thang up. I know jermaine was like 🙄 when michael started singing cause it made it look like it wasn’t his song, but jermaine did great too!
Lmao.
It's both of them song
It’s his brother I’m pretty sure he was happy y’all always try to make it look like MJ family was always jealous of him, but Mj gives the song more attention which is another good thing for jermain
😂😂😂
A trick: watch movies on Flixzone. Me and my gf have been using them for watching loads of movies recently.
In love with the 'shake' in his voice when he sings " you slipped into my roooommm" and when he sings "whispers in the dark", I love the grit... it's Soo sexxyyy!!!! RIP MJ MY Bae!!!😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😍😍😍🎤🎤🎤
Yessssssss!!!
Jermaine seeing to comment section:
*i'm going to make a doccumentary.*
It's called vibrato ❤
I gotta give credit to both jermaine and mike for making this song hella incredible!!! Jermaines pulling doublle duty on bass and singing. Mike is just flawless and phenomenal.
As someone who plays bass and sings I can tell you that it's not easy. I cannot do this song or Let's Get Serious pulling double duty. It's one or the other. His coordination is next level.
@@chrisgambaro-vega9504 this!!!
@chrisgambaro-vega9504 Well you can thank their Pops for that.. 🤷♂️
This was the Michael we grew up with and enjoyed his music
Wym
Subelia Little Michael was the greatest till his death
Due to so many false allegations, Pepsi incident, lupus, laryngitis, vitiligo Michael's live abilities decreased
All of his albums (including Xscape) were the best of the year albums
Doc Showtime still is the greatest :)
Jermaine voice + vocals always on point.
This was the sh*t! Jermaine & Mikes vocals are on point!
the jump in energy when michael joins the song is very real. nothing against jermaine (i love the man's voice) but michael was a talent so many levels above most other performers...so glad we have the chance to continue to be witness to it even when he is gone physically
The song was written to have that effect. Has nothing to do with whether an artist has "energy" or not. The song was written to take advantage of Michael's ability to scale chords. Jermaine is not supposed to match tenors in this song.
@@fostermac7170these people just can turn anything into upping Michael and pushing down the brothers, there’s no point in arguing it atp😭 cause like duh the energy goes up that’s how the song is written and how jermaine wanted it 🤦♂️
@@texsion You said it better than I ever could. Thanks for logical response.
And yall downplay MJ’s talent, it was written this way sure but it was designed this way because MJ had the talent to pull it off, it’s literally a different “feel” when Mike hops on, there’s a clear difference between vocal talent here regardless of how the song was “designed”
I’m not dreaming
I’m not dreaming mama
I’m not dream brotha
Im not dreaming
And hence, his bad era persona was born here on the victory tour.
I feel like I'm not gonna be dreaming
God I just love the breakdown at the end
I remember seeing them perform this on the Victory tour. True Jackson fans were ecstatic to see the brothers reunited but the 'Thriller-come-lately' newbies treated Jermaine's segment like intermission. It's one thing to leave for the restroom, etc., but to openly talk while the dude's performing...good grief. Couldn't wait to get from beyond those idiots' sphere.
The brothers really don't get the exposure and love they deserve.
Are you serious? Smh that's so disrespectful
Your comment is EVERYTHING. Sadly, those idiots continue to post on UA-cam. Some of them on this very thread.
the disrespect! horrible
Much the same dynamic continues today, sadly - the brothers' talents being consistently dismissed by the more 'stan'-like solo MJ fans. I wasn't born in the Victory days, but I've seen the group twice since their 2012 touring 'comeback', and they put on great shows.
The way he sing "I'm not dreaaaming" in 3:05 always gives me chills, damnnnnn
He is not dreaming that he is the King Of music and Dance.
Esse é o momento que ele atinge o ápice da satisfação na música isso é cantar com muito amor ele já pressentia que iria se tornar o maior de todos os tempos 🔥🔥🔥 espírito de vencedor 🔥🔥🔥
MIKES A MONSTER ON THAT STAGE!!! There is no single artist I can think of who can command a stage better than Mike! Beast Mode! Turnt All The Way Up!!
I love this comment so much. It is SO true.
That’s nothing, fast forward to “The Dangerous Tour” well even the “Superbowl” … Tell me, who in the hell could stand on stage, by himself doing nothing but posing in front of 100K + people for 2 mins and have people LOSE THEIR MINDS, they were mesmerized. He turned his head and removed his shades, people Could Not take it and just pass tr out! 😂😂😂
He is only entertainer besides the Beatles who had people going crazy. But what was sad he couldn’t go anywhere without drawing a huge crowd but he had to deal with it
@@sharonanderson6161 Do you know of any celebrity who doesn't draw a crowd when they go out?
@@HypnoticHollywoodmikes crowds were different 10k at a hotel in romania
The most incredibly unique voice iv ever heard! THE KING!
Michael jackson loved his brothers. And they love him. No "competition" they all inspired each other. Michael had charisma but the only other sibling that wanted this as bad as him was Janet. All the Jacksons have more talent in their pinky finger than most of these key board warriors do in their lifetime
Im Me Marlon was Michael’s older brother.
@Im Me Did you notice that MARLON comes up with the bulk of the group choreography? Of course you didn't.
@@Jewel77777 Indeed. You'd think he's know that since he's a "real" fan. FOH !!
@@chrisgambaro-vega9504 not Michael's moves though
@August Butterfly marlon is older than Michael
Oh man. I LOVE the Jacksons. And Michael... no words 😪❤️❤️❤️🙏🏾
I like the solo bass of Jermaine
I love his noises!! ♡
I honestly love those noises as well! So unique and precise......only Mike!!!
Music Trivia-When Jermaine signed with Arista Records, Jermaine asked Michael to come to the studio to record a duet. Michael asked what was going to happen. Jermaine informed him that they was going to be recording a duet and sing lead and backgrounds by themselves. Michael was excited. Sadly record label politics prevented the song to be released as an official single. Epic didn't want Arista to release a single with their artist despite the fact it was his brother and idol. The single was released as a radio single and it hit # 1 on the Adult Comptemorary and Dance charts and earned them brother a Grammy Nomination. The jacksons decided to perform this classic on their Victory tour.
Wow... someone who actually knows what they're talking about and doesn't devolve into pitting one against the other.
It is not meant to be a competition but MJ’s record company, Epic and Walter Yetnikoff are the people/person to ask or Clive Davis since they were the ones who agreed how to release the single (promotional single as the B side of Do What You Do. Another fantastic song and recording. Yetnikoff has stated in an interview he made the call to Clive Davis based on Michael’s concern. The record received a Grammy nomination and wide radio play and is a great song. It is a No. 1 song for sure!!
3:02 The face of a crescendo just formed in his mind on que to the music....Mikes talent pushed a ferocious expression there. Absolutely BREATHTAKING...otherworldly energy!!!😮🔥🔥🔥
3:45 is one of MJ's only perfect moments on stage. You see, Michael is a perfectionist, and so he does everything to get a performance right. When Jermaine started to do the background vocals, Michael did a 1/8 beat instead of the rehearsed 1/4 beat. This result sounded quite better, and that's how it ended up with that.
Michael is full of Energy
Go Jermaine! Love all yall!
Rough like a lion & swift like a pecock his voice is like electric.
JERMINE ROCKED THAT SHIT !
I always notice those little details while he's perfoming. Look at 3:22 when he swaps the microphone to the right hand in order to make that gesture with the left hand. I don't know, it look like he would make a mistake but he didn't, it was so natural to be on stage for him
He was a perfectionist and would practice the least move over and over.
3:23"Tell me are you yeah" This part was played in another video and i hunted this video down. Just the way he sings with the music there gave me a very loving nostalgic feeling when i was younger and a feel over grandma house at night and the candles lit in which i still do today looking for that old feel again 😢❤😘😊😍🥰🤩I love the stage light and feel. ✨🧨🌠🎤🎹🎼🎧🎵🎸🥁🎷🎺🎻🎙🎶🔈🔉It felt like just MUSIC The ENERGY and POWER I would've loved to live in the 80's , I'm not even 20 yet, theyre very inspirational.
this is my jam people just dont know
What do you mean?
I know bro cause it's me n my son jam
Dam Mj killed Jermaine on his own song 😂😂😂
That never happened. You must be one of those post Thriller MJ fans.
@@yourfairyking Because the post Thriller MJ fans make everything he's ever done with his brothers into a competition. Which is a high sign of stupidity and fantasy. They've created this world where MJ is God and the best at everything. It's actually quite frightening.
megavega4 ThAts cuz he is lol
Kevin Alberto I worry for your mental
@@kevinalberto6198 yeah....not really.
Mike & Jermaine shoulda more songs 2gether...their voices are perfectly matched
They've got a whole Jackson 5 discography.
@@chrisgambaro-vega9504 he meant post Jackson 5 as adults
Too funky! Jermaine was doing it as well. Great song with these two.
The JACKSON'S as a whole.... Are Phenomenal!
Wow, that sounds as close as you can get to the recording of that song! Just amazing performance!
The 1984 Victory Tour was a financial disaster but the music rocked! RIP MJ! Still miss U alot!
the tour made a lot of money
@@semiribrahim8956 It could have been a World Tour outside North America but MJ had enough of the outside nonsense with ticket scalping and the Brothers milking on his Thriller album success
"I'm not dreamin' brotha'!" Love that part.
1:25 Michael was like bitch have some Jerri-curl juice.
😂😂😂😂😂😂
That bassline intro tho 🔥🔥🔥🔥
How am I almost 47 years old and literally hearing this song for the very first time?!? This song is the TRUTH!!!! Jermaine and Mike!
Good Morning. This song was released on Jermaine's solo debut for Arista Records and became a huge radio hit. Michael's label Epic wouldn't allow Arista to release it as a single so Clive the head of Aritsta released is as a B-side of Do What You Do. This duet hit # 1 on the Dance Charts and earned them a Grammy Nomination.
I Love Michael Jackson!!!
MJ IS just the MUSIC 😍😍😍 The power of his moves and his voice, his style and his PASSION, his amertume too. The gimicks. Jermaine seems to be the featuring

Un bon duo entre Michael et jermaine. Michael toujours puissant dans sa voix puissante de ténor
I love how he taps Randy on the bootie! I love this whole performance.... my fav concert
Victory Tour has to be the only tour where the promoters didn't make money but the performers did. Usually the act gets screwed.
Now i really love the VICTORY tour(= Thx 4 that info❤
The song shows the brother truly united and that is the magic of the Jacksons....and that's the truth!
MJ and Jermaine killed it
The Jacksons with Jermaine Jackson and the King Of Pop Michael Joe Jackson👑 performing a duet is very precious.😊
At @2:22 When Michael Pops Randy😂🤣... As To Say Let's Jam Bro!!! Gotta Luv The Family Doing What They Love In Their Gifting!!!
AND.... There Better Not be a Negative Comment becuz Football Players Do It All The Time...Period!
Just for his brothers!!! What an amazing loving person!!
He was the band's leader. Leaders always have a little pressure to do. I was reading about the leader of another group saying how she feels guilty sometimes leaving the group. The media want people to think their is an upset with the brothers but its not. I enjoy seeing how all the Jackson siblings rally for each other. That bond taught by their parents is coveted by some other families, including mine. Does anyone else like to hear him say "yea yea"?
There was no leader.... he was the lead singer
They all killed this song, instrumentals, harmony in the vocals.❤
It's funny how this song is Jermaine Jackson feat. Micheal Jackson but Micheal makes it his song
Timmie Glover lmao and Jermaine sounds tired AF and off key.
look at my last name lol
Like Beyonce did to Alicia Keys
Fun Fact : This technically wasn’t Jermaine’s song....this was recorded for The Jacksons “Victory” album but instead they chose “Torture” and Jermaine kept this song for himself....
Interesting
Wow MJ the best
This family had the music industry in a chokehold 🔥
I've always loved this song ❤
YES MICHAEL ❤❤❤🥵🥵🥵
That was funny as hell when michael tapped Randys ass by the keyboard!!! LOL!!!
wow never heard this that sound so outstanding perfect on this song
❤
They are too good to be true. Omg
First time listening to this and I freaking love it... 😍
Does anyone have footage from the last show in LA where MJ was on one. Especially when he dropped the news it would be their last tour together. He had so much energy for that one show alone jumping and sliding across the stage.
_There's was one full footage of _*_Victory Tour_*_ live at LA and it _*_The Jacksons "Shake Your Body Down To The Ground"_*_ it was stated when Michael Jackson said it was his final tour_.

I love it very good song
aouuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu michael jackson
People don't have to put down the other brothers just to lift up Mike.
Yes, Michael was the standout, but they all had their roles.
Don't act like Marlon was BRINGING THE ENERGY this entire tour. Keep an eye on him, he's right there keeping up with Michael.
Or Randy's wonderful percussion work. I especially love his bongo solo on Workin Day n Night.
Let's respect and appreciate all of them for what they've done.

"Tell Me I'm Not Dreaming" made a great alternative for "Torture". The way MJ sung,"Help my soul!" made ways.
