Let's be honest. There will never be another band as electrifying as The Jacksons. This family is just legendary!
I love this video.
A very talented dynasty.
That because their will never be another man electrifying as MJ
Don't forget Janet.
The entire Jackson family is the most famous family in history no other musical family has ever had the kinds of career this family has because Michael is the greatest entertainer that’s ever lived with a legacy so big it would take forever to write and he’s influenced the entire industry and Janet is one of the greatest entertainers ever and has also influenced the entire industry and paved the way for women in the industry and just like Michaels her career is so massive it would take forever to write it all she without a doubt has the second biggest impact ever after Michael and the Jackson 5/the Jacksons are the 3d biggest selling group ever and without a doubt the most influential group ever they have influenced so many bands and solo artists there influence is literally everywhere and Jermaine Jacksons song when the rain begins to fall has been sampled and coved by countless artists if it wasn’t for the Jackson family especially Michael Janet and the Jacksons none of these artists of today would be what they are today
When MJ’s voice comes in, it just takes it to another level
Like a whole level no one will ever reach..same when he sang with 3T..im telling you this guy was too good for this planet.. what a voice, what a talent. Cant get over it. Amazing

So true....i always said like you👍
A whole different level indeed.
RIP MJ..

The way MJ can tell a story through his voice is pure magic.
MJ’s voice in the 70’s-80’s was pure electric. What a gift, what a talent.
Even in 90s and 60s

U ain’t never lied!
I couldn t agree more as Jermaine s talent has always been underrated, more masculine man with an elegant voice whereas Michael kept his youthful incredible voice ...nevertheless remain a Jackson 5 plus motown fan and MJackson fan forever. ❤ this song is à masterpiece 😊
I agree. If Jermaine focused on building his own brand and legacy and not trying to compete with his brother, he would have been dynamite. His vocals are amazing.
Mike begins his verse and the song suddenly elevates to a level so high it's practically knocking on heaven's door. Fucking magical that man was.
A song about hell and you're making idiotic comments about reaching place beyond your comprehension.
Mike was other-worldly !!✨
Yep.
Bro you said a lot!! I listen just to hear his cameo and it never fails to elevate this song 🎵
I agree 💯👍🏿
To this day Mike’s verse still gives me goosebumps 🙌
It’s not that bad but there’s hundreds more people that have been singing just as good 👍 but didn’t get the recognition that they did, the Jackson family) they were just pretty much determined than others or just better
For real. As soon as his verse starts it just CUTS THROUGH EVERYTHING like a knife...
Works a little like can you feel it, with a brother having the softer verses and Mike the electric ones. Wouldn't work as a solo song.
So true. One of the many beautiful things about music.
Cool music
They are all talented and Jermaine’s voice is beautiful but Michael was something else, out of this world. The best!

@@shrim1481 oh shit did the cops catch me already?
mah voice anti-torture.
Wtf is this
Tito was Flat out Killing it on that solo. 🥶🔥
The Guitar solo was played by a guy named Jack Wargo
When MJ sings it's over, let's not discount Jermaine that is a great singer as well and Tito's electric guitar solos and melody, the entire family is Blessed with talent. Great piece.
When Michael sings. It's a godly ability. His voice not natural. It's given to those who are worthy.
I appreciate the comment about the other Jacksons. I like Michael as a performer but the hero-worship of someone who was a flawed man makes little sense to me. But I have a God and Lord, so perhaps I can understand people's need to elevate others, even flawed men like Michael Jackson.
It's not like I haven't heard people talk bad about Christ. And some say he did not exist, but that's a lie. Many non-religious records of him exist and have existed, but the revisionists are hard at work destroying history. Though at least my Lord died for something and not due to a medical mistake/ though perhaps it was murder. The worshippers need it to be murder otherwise he died like a mere man and not a martyr.
Michael believed in Jesus as far as I know (as a youth and later in life) so please honor him and seek to understand Christianity from its own perspective and not the perspective of men and the world. Do the work yourself and see what it says and is like. It's not what the World and haters say.
Any way, I hope this finds you in a good place and be blessed and peace.

So true. Listen to "Can You Feel It" and his duet with Jermaine "Tell Me I'm Not Dreaming" ... Mike saved those songs.
We've been blessed by many musical families, The Jacksons, The Sylvers, DeBarge, and the list goes on and on.
MJ was simply as rare as True African American history. Rare and untouchable. You just knew it had that SOUL TOUCH! Stop calling him the King of POP. He was and forever will be pure soul.
Your just as RACIST as the white people calling him the king of pop something they invented.... Didn't MICHAEL TOUCH EVER #RACE ON EARTH WITH HIS TALENT... DID THEY CARE ABOUT THE SOUL PART OF IT? OKAY THEY WEREN'T RACIST YOU ARE BECAUSE YOU AN BLACKS LIKE YOU USE HIM AS A BLACK WEAPON OF MUSIC DOMINANCE UNMATCHED BY ALL ARTIST ON EARTH.... OKAY WHAT IF THE OTHER RACES HATED HIM FOR BEING BLACK WITH TO MUCH TALENT? THEY MADE MIC NOT US BLACK PEOPLE BUT THE WORLD FULL OF EVERY COLOR PEOPLE.🤔🤔🤔🤔
Michael becoming a solo act was ultimately inevitable. The brothers are good but Mike was magical. The dude was in a different league.
Than everyone
I agree. MJ was something else!!
Being honest I think that Michael leaving on his own was the worst thing he did for his family him and his brothers were magical together you single out one person but that would be like if you saw me and my family and I was the s*** of course people love hearing that but the truth of Michaels life was that he was lonely he didn't need to be alone he needed to be with his family or be with a wife he needed a life that was worth living that's why he was constantly looking for love in all the wrong places he was looking for friends all of you people worship him now but truth be told how many of you were really there when he needed you
This album was better than Thriller, not BAD levels of good though.
@@wadereynoldsdeadpool5768 The thing is Michael felt used and pressured within the family. He was among the youngest of the bunch, yet the family relied a lot on him. He would do "family" tours and albums mainly to please/help them("Triumph", "Victory"). That was not easy to handle, hence his desire of emancipation. I agree with you when you said that he needed to be with a wife who would have given him real support and stability, but Michael has had emotional scars since his teen years, he was very sensitive and was looking for the approval of his father...

MJ's voice is so damn smooth
(Verse 1 - Jermaine)
It was on a street so evil
So bad that even hell disowned it
Every single step was trouble
For the fool who stumbled on it
Eyes within the dark were watching
I felt the sudden chill of danger
Something told me "Keep on walking"
Told me I should not have come there
(Chorus 1)
Baby, 'cause you cut me like a knife
Without your love in my life
Alone I walk in the night
'Cause I just can't stop this feeling
It's torture
It's torture
It's torture
(Verse 2 - Michael)
She was up a stair to nowhere
A room forever I'll remember
She stared as though I should have known her
Tell me, what's your pain or pleasure?
Every little thing you find here
Is simply for the thrill you're after
Loneliness or hearts of fire
I am here to serve all masters
(Chorus 2)
She said reality is a knife
When there's no love in your life
And merciful is the night
When you just can't stop this feeling
It's torture
It's torture
It's torture
(Bridge)
Jermaine: And I still can't find the meaning (Michael: No, no)
Michael: Of the face I keep seeing
Jermaine: Was she real or was I dreaming?
Together: Did the sound of your name turn a wheel, start a flame in me?
(Chorus 1: Repeat)
(Chorus 2: Repeat)
(Outro - Jackie, with the other Jacksons)
When you call my name
(It's torture)
It's heading 'round the flame
(It's torture)
When you call my name
(It's torture)
Hey
(It's torture, it's torture, it's torture)

Yessssss its so good
I've listened to the entire Victory (1984) album (all eight songs) more than six times in these past eight days, and I have to say that Torture is the catchiest song on the album. This song is pure 1980s pop and pure Jacksons collective, and that's why the song still stands up to true 1980s music enthusiasts or fanatics like myself.
I remember when Vh1 had “Pop Up Video” and they had an episode specifically for The Jacksons and they played this. If I remember correctly, the videos they played were:
“Dynamite” by Jermaine
“Heart Don’t Lie” by LaToya
“Billie Jean” by Michael
Every Jackson had his signature move: MJ had the moonwalk, the spin, & the leg kick (among many others of course), Marlon had the body roll, Randy had the shimmy-shake & the pelvic piston thrust, Jackie had the side strut -- & then there's Tito, who has his guitar LoL.
Tarantulisimo and jermaine has his bass lol
Marlon got the leg kick 2 a li bit
But both marlon & Michael dance a like a li bit

What???😮 Where have you been?
I agree, I never dug into his Jackson 5/Jacksons stuff before, I figured I wouldn't care for it since my mom likes J5 and we don't agree on most music. But I have to say, J5/Jacksons are phenomenal and I would now say I'm more of a Jacksons fan than I am a MJ fan. His vocals in the mid 70s thru Triumph/Off the Wall can't be beat. You're so right, their catalog has so many hidden gems!
That guitar riff at the very beginning, gets me every time!!!! Such a great song by the Jacksons. Imagine if Michael and Jermaine had appeared in this video.
Do you know why they wasn’t in the video?
@@RonJP-pm7jp I've read it was scheduling and animosity. I've read Michael wanted to be completely free from the family and Jermaine didn't want to be involved in the Victory album and only showed up at the end. In the '80s, if you didn't have cable or MTV, these videos were really hard to find or see on local tv. In the NYC area, Video Music Box, Friday Night Videos (NBC) or Hot Tracks rarely played a video like this cuz it was too expensive.
