      @Denise Burroughs,
      I met a young family of 4 (Dad/husband-21 years old, wife/mother- 19-21 years old, daughter/sister- 2 years old, and son/brother- under 1 year old) a few days before Thanksgiving in November 2019 about 7 1/2 weeks ago when raking the neighbors (the husband died at age 63 little over a year ago, and the wife moved out because the house was being foreclosed on) yard as no one had raked it yet. The husband (Micheal) saw the FSBO (For Sale By Owner) sign up in my yard and was driving by in the car he and his family of 4 lives in since the tornados we suffered here in OH destroyed the land contract place he was living in the night of 27 May 2019 (I am glad they didn't lose their lives). I saw him (not knowing his entire family was in the car because I was a little distance away) standing outside his vehicles in front of my yard and told him I am in my neighbor's yard raking, waived at him and tell him to meet me over there and we can talk. He then told me his family was in the car, so we went to his car and I met his family, and I brought them inside to show them the house and to find out more about their situation.
      Michael, the head of the "household," has poor credit and no cash (the same is true for his wife- which is typically true for a lot of people at that age). The tornadoes had also destroyed his place of work, and when we were talking, he had just started one job a month earlier and was about to start a second job the Monday after Thanksgiving. I offered to house that young family in my 3 bedrooms 2 bathroom house (a single woman living alone with 2 dogs 3weeks away from my 41st birthday....a newly retired [end of Aug 2019] disabled veteran that served almost 16 years of active duty U.S Air Force as a medic) that I am selling that is sparkling and spotless after renovations. Even though the young man has no cash nor credit, he was excited about potentially getting a loan from his credit union he was banking with since aged 16 years old. Being as I have oodles of experiences with house buying and the loan mortgage system in America, I crunched the numbers on his income and knew that even if he had great credit and a small deposit that is EXTREMELY low he would be able to afford my house with his income (or that a responsible bank would approve a loan). But most young people, typically want to check for themselves (absolutely nothing wrong with that....because people give WRONG information all the time- even the so-called experts where it is their actual jobs....much less a total stranger that doesn't work in a mortgage company). Michael had my number and my e-mail. I heard nothing back from him. I was getting ready to take up someone (a "wholesaler," middle guy that link up investors, Will) on the cash offer I had received on the house 2 months prior, and I had mentioned wanting to help get Michael and his family in my house (someone that will truly appreciate it), Will and I have been communicating for over 2 months via phone at this point like old friends (even though we never met in person). Will asked me what about the family I wanted to get in the house, and I told him they blew me off (it's been over a week and no contact). So he recommended I should check up on that and also mentioned he has a contact in a bank that will be able to help the family if they had 10% down. I was excited and asked Will to have them contact me as soon as possible so we can get this family off the streets. My plan was to take a 10% loss on the break-even price the house is listed at (I tried to figure out how to turn that into a 10% deposit) and give Michael a ride on my 20 years old credit card that has a limit of ~$20K. I called Michael up, and asked what happened. The credit union told him to go get a credit card and build credit for a year and come back. I asked about their living situation, etc. I then told him my plans to get him into my house and that I need him to get a copy of his Credit Karna report to me that night so I can better advocate on his behalf with the banker who I should be hearing from any time the next day.
      Long story short, it is now 3 Jan 2020, almost a month of me trying to help Michael, and time after time he has excuses after excuses after excuses (which I am 99% sure are true....but WHEN you have someone that is bending over backward to offer you their credit they have cultivated since they were your age for as long as you have been alive, offering to give you over $10,000 in cash towards a downpayment on your house, and have since found a way [Amway] and offered to sponsor you to be earning extra income [as an Independent Business Owner] to properly support your family and you keep blowing off these opportunities) and thus does NOT truly want to change his situation even though he claims he does, his actions scream loudly, I DON'T. Seeing the Arien story on Invisible's People (her getting off the streets, and going back to watch the 3 videos on her being homeless before about 2 weeks ago [my 41st birthday week], I have decided once my temporary house is sold in OH and I move to my semi-permanent house in TX, that I was going to open my house up to take women and children off the streets and mentor them. I am planning on starting an organic urban permaculture (vegetable and fruit garden with hens for eggs and their poop for fertilizer) garden. So with some of the food, we will provide for ourselves and me imparting 30+ years of self-learned knowledge and wisdom [some school, but mostly through research and experience], as I have been taking care of myself since 12 years old (and helping my mom with cooking since I was 9 years old [for a then famil of 4: mom and 2 younger sisters [4 and 6 years older than me]). I find out through research over 2 days ago that I won't be able to open my home up to the homeless (because my mom reminded me about a story I told her probably on Veteran's Day 2019 about a veteran that housed other homeless veterans in his home [tiny homes build around his residence] that his neighbors [article now that I found it said "local-govenment] were ANGRY over, and the "town-government" sued this kind veteran, which the courts found guilty of illegally running a homeless shelter and not being considered a church (even though he has Bible Study and provided a safe place to worship) and thus his house was foreclosed on (fines and court fees because he lost the battle/case) and was kicked out (and died in Oct 2019 and the article filtered in my e-mailbox towards the end of Oct 2019). The story is here: www.military.com/daily-news/2019/10/06/retired-marine-who-fought-house-homeless-vets-has-died.html
      But I will find a way to help people that truly desires help. I keep offering and very few people pick me up on my offer. I have started the research and I am hoping to start implementing if possible before the end of 2020 in San Antonio, TX. If you are truly serious about this venture, I could use a partner on this. My home would be your home (all you would be responsible for is utility and helping me with our organic permaculture food garden [plant a few fruit trees and vegetables...as well as have hens for eggs and fertilizer] that I will be starting hopefully soon [as soon as I sell the house in OH]). The tentative gain plan is to see about getting rural land in or near San Antonio, TX that will allow us to sustain off-grid facilities where we will have solar panels, composting toilets, rainwater catchment, growing our own food, raising our own animals, have a minivan that will transport people that are looking for work or have secured work in nearby communities to drop off at central points for them to have access to public transportation. I will also provide knowledge on finance, credit, etc. to benefit these guys. I will also have a homeschool system in place through the K12 program, that will cut down on school displacement, etc. for these children so they develop stability. Contact and seek ways how we can get potential experts that can help support us with volunteer hours to help with certain drug and alcohol issues. Figure out ways we can get programs these people that need the mental and medical help from the government get. But in general, they will know that this is their home and we are family...and we foster safe spaces amongst each other [in a sort of big-brother sister type of way.....where our own experiences are used to pull each other up). I got a rough draft in my head.
      My e-mail is sylvialachienne@gmail.com. Anyone that is ready to act and what I describe sounds like something you might be interested in.....I will always need help with this....as long as I am alive and physically free. I am a retired disabled veteran, that has never been homeless, but my empathy is high and I want to help!

    Amanda is a very sharp smart lady. She has so much to offer the homeless and homed people in respect of what are truths and what are not. She really is making a very good impact on the homeless population. It sounds like she has really been through so much with her health and homeless situations.

    I was on TikTok and I saw you on “Invisible People” video post. Your positivity as you answered his question hit my emotions deep. I watched you as you held your composure but, deep inside, I felt your struggles thru your facial expressions while maintaining a smile. I had to find out who you were and luckily your name came up in the comments. SO, here I am subscribing to your UA-cam channel. Keep being who you are! You’re an inspiration (cliché, I know but, a FACT).

      Amanda, you are an inspiration to me! Your story helps me understand that as a child growing up in family violence, alcoholism, drug addiction, infidelity and complete chaos, that I am lucky to have survived and to be as happy and healthy as I am. I struggle, even at 50, but it could have been a lot worse. Meditation saved my life and health and connection to Spirit is teaching me self-love and that all things ARE possible. You are beautiful inside and out and your gift is in your heart...keep sharing it with the world. You’re making a difference! You’ve made a difference to me! You are loved deeply. Keep following your heart! 🥰❤️🤗❤️

    I would love to work with invisible people in my state of Ohio. Who would I contact to become involved in this organization that is so so wonderful? I am a licensed hairstylist and I have gone to homeless shelters and donated my time doing haircuts and believe me somebody comes in to that room all slumped over head down but by the time they get a fresh haircut they leave standing upright shoulders back with a smile on their face and that’s all the payment I would ever need! I would love to do more than just donate my time doing haircuts. I feel after hearing your story and some of the other stories on invisible people I am needed out there, I want to help.
