- NC Surf Fishing with Fresh Shrimp at Fort Fisher is the way to go because of the different opportunities that NC surf fishing offers. NC Surf Fishing could land you flounder, bluefish, redfish, pompano, black drum, and sea mullet. This is my NC Surf Fishing video where I targeted sea mullets in the surf.

You sure had the spot with that big hole in the slough... those sloughs between the bar and the beach are like fish highways, but when one opens up into a hole like that, you've got the spot! Looks like big fun. That dog is turning into nice looking critter too, by the way.
It was a really awesome day and I was lucky to find it. You could see the wash zone and where it looked like it hollowed out.

What are you doing with the knife before you toss the fish in the cooler? When I was young, we would vacay on the outer banks of N.C. What fun! Surf fishing with what they called "bloodworms" yielded lots of "spot" fish which were good eating Pleasant memories. Thank you.
I always bleed my fish out because it makes the fish taste better. I pop the gills with a knife and they bleed out in the bag.

Nice fish and your right the sea mullet is a good tasting fish great for fish tacos but puffers are my favorite, what lenght are your rods you were using, you need to get one of those jump start packs in case it happens to you again
Thanks sir. I still haven’t had a puffer yet but I do hear they are great. These are 8’ rods. I do need a jumper box, I’m considering the dewalt combo air compressor.

that’s awesome man, I’m hoping to go surf fishing for the first time tomorrow so trying to find any good spots for my first time. Any tips or recomendations?
Find deep water between sandbars and fish the edges of the drop off. Location doesn't really matter since the sand shifts non stop.

I'd say I fish 4 days to get one video, no matter the type of fishing that I am doing. You guys only see the good days but 75 percent of them are bad. It's all about being prepared and getting lucky.

@@ericwilliamsfishing That makes sense, the water near me and the outer banks is still a tad too cold for surf fishing, especially for the whiting. Hopefully that'll change in a few weeks.
@@jazzfeline5970 yeah, it is warming up pretty quickly in the last few weeks. I think we are on pace to have a solid spring run if it keeps up.

Glad to see our surf fishing picking back up!!! Im curious when u drive on the beach, how low of tire pressure do u run? I haven't aired down when i go and i make it but struggle a little bit with my jeep
Me too man. We needed this warm stretch for sure. I aired down to about 25lbs and I have no issues at that poundage. You may need to go lower with a heavier vehicle though. I think the park says you should go to about 18.

You can get lucky and catch some but spring is when we get our best push.
