After suffering my spinal cord injury i have really had to adapt in life. So Im showing you my disability lifestyle to raise disability awareness. As a disabled woman and a woman in a wheelchair who is paralysed, I thought it would be interesting for you to see, and hopefully give you some inspiration and motivation so that you can live more independently. wether you are paraplegic or quadriplegic I hope that I can help you. The wheelsnoheels message is “so no one has to feel alone.”
I have lots of interesting disability videos, a lot of videos on how to cope with a disability and living life in a wheelchair, wether you are a girl boy woman or man. i have some paraplegic exercise videos, and advice. its important to keep your fitness levels up as much as possible as this can when physically and mentally with depression.

Hi everyone. If you found this video helpful please consider sharing. 🤗 If this is your first time here don’t miss my other Disney videos, linked in the description box. I’m taking a much needed break, I’ll be off for a week, but there won’t be a new video for two weeks. I’ll see you in September with my Rollettes LA dance vlogs 😍

I am not disabled, but I am still finding your videos so informative and really useful. As I haven’t been to Disney in such a long time, it’s making me feel like I need to plan another holiday and soon. Animal Kingdom looks great. Look forward to the next one.

Hi Gem, I’m not a wheelchair user but have issues with my joints so I really appreciate the discomfort level you do for the rides. I learn so much from your videos 😊

"Those with a fear of heights should bypass this experience" That's the first time I've heard that warning and it's exactly why I don't do roller coasters. Even though I'm fine on a plane, I don't do heights and I hate the sensation of being whipped all over the place and unable to control it.

Sad to hear that Na'vi river is such a difficult transfer!! After watching some of your other vids it gave me hope that the new vehicles were a LOT more accessible and it's disappointing that this was an exception.

Gem, you’ll be happy to know that Primeval Whirl has been out of service since June! Rumors are that it’s been permanently closed. Thank you again for your videos. Even though I’m a Disney passholder, I haven’t been on Kali River Rapids since becoming a wheelchair user. Now, that I’ve seen your video, I know that I’ll be able to go on it.

I know I'm very late to these vids but thank you so much for making your Disney series. My daughter is a full-time chair user and I'm researching for our December 2021 trip. Your vids are fantastic. I can't wait to watch all your other non-Disney videos, too 😊 #subscribed

Good video. Looks like fun. I have to do this when we go to six flags. Sometimes at six flags they are always like we never have people in wheelchairs wanting to ride rollercoasters. And I'm like well I like to ride them. They are always surprised. Have never been to Disney though. Love the channel. Keep up the good work.

Wow, that roller coaster at the end looks like something I would not want to go on at all lol. In general, I avoid roller coasters. Also that ride that says you should avoid it if you have a fear of heights (I do), gives me a little bit of surgery ptsd 😱😱. Your little girl looked like she was having a blast though. 👍🏽

Gem I have been watching a few of your videos & I think you are an amazing lady, I don’t have the terrible injuries that you have suffered with but I have multiple sclerosis PPMS which means my condition is getting worse by the day! Shit happens but that’s life I have picked up lots of tips from watching you in your wheelchair and I’m going to try and get some of the simple but effective aids you have for your wheelchair 🦽, I hopefully will have some of these bits before we head back to Florida in 2024. Keep battling on Rich

Looks like a fun day! I’m going to Disney World at the end of October and I’m renting a scooter so my parents don’t have to push me around in a wheelchair. Do you know if they have wheelchairs at all the rides if the lines can’t accommodate a scooter?

Interesting that a ride based on a movie with a paraplegic protagonist is so difficult to access for paraplegic riders

  • @sarahasbury6608

Why did they ask if you were comfortable standing for 10 minutes? Like sure some wheelchair users can stand/walk but 10 minites is a solid bit kf time and if you add 10 minutes for every ride that'd be EXHAUSTING even if you COULD.

I've heard that flight of passage has a room you can transfer into another wheelchair that cranks up to the level of the seat on the ride. Is this true?

Gem, (...or anyone) can you help me?
(Well you did mention a smart drive!)
I bought a smart drive in September last year (I’m in the UK) and it completely died in October/November so I took it back to the shop for it to be repaired.
Despite many, many phone calls I’m still waiting for it to be returned.
According to the shop I bought it through they are still waiting to hear back from smart drive, apparently the issue is that they don’t know whether to repair it or replace it.
We are almost at the end of August, so I’ve been waiting ten months.
It cost £5,000, and it took years to save up for it, if I’d have known it would have taken so long maybe I would have just bought a second hand power chair for a fraction of the price.
As anyone else had to wait so long for a repair?

    • @Wheelsnoheels
      @Wheelsnoheels  4 роки тому +2

      Hi Billie.
Im so sorry to hear this. I don't have any experience with smart drive. But the way you have been treated is unaccepitbe. to leave a disabled person with out a mobility device for this many months in unacceptable. If i spent 5k on something, and it broke in a few months, id want it replaced striate away. Its not fit for purpose . If i were you I would be ringing them constantly and seriously fighting for a new one. Keep bugging them. Have you tried to contact smart drive directly? Also I would threaten to go to the press about it..... Also find out your legal consumer rights so you can back yourself up. And you could also threaten to sue for compensation. Have you had to hire another equipment while you have been with out it? Have you missed out on events while you have been without it? All of this could be compensated. I hope this helps. Don't just sit back. you have to fight. Don't let go. Im taking some time off. But you can email me when Im back at the beginning of september. xxx (all of this is advice only, and just what I would do based on what you have told me. I accept no responsibility.) (sorry but i have to say that. x)
