- HIM DARING Wig was created to be worn by men. Can women wear a man's wig? I found Daring by HIM (Same manufacturer as Raquel Welch wigs) to be large head friendly. Is this an option for women?
I purchased my DARING by HIM at Mimi's Wig Boutique: shopmimisdallas.com/

Hello, my friends! Thank you for visiting! I neglected to mention I did not have a gap at the crown. However, please keep in mind, we all have different shape to our heads. What works for one may not work for others. I recorded this video because I thought it may be helpful for wearers with a 23 - 24" circumference. Please let me know what you think and if you'd like to see more of these types of videos. xoxo Marlene
Greetings Marlene! What an absolutely great idea! Just what I need!! I would definitely like to see more. Thank you so much! Love and blessings ♥️🙏
I love your sense of humor! I don’t wear short wigs and I don’t have a large head, but I think it’s a great idea to show these for people who do need that. It looks very cute on you, Marlene.
Hi Suzi, lol, we just have to have a sense of humor and have fun with this. Thank you so much for stopping by and your comment! xoxo Marlene
I love that you reviewed this wig, Marlene! I think it’s awesome to see men’s wigs that could be worn by women! Thank you!😊
Thank you so much! I'm hoping it'll be helpful for all the wearers out there with a larger circumference. xoxo Marlene
@Marlene, I watched your vid, when you returned from Spain. I have been to Spain five times & ABSOLUTELY loved it. I spent a week in Costa Del Sol. WOW-WEE !! Later, I went to Madrid, Barcelona, Segovia & Valencia. In the mid to late 90s', were the last times I flew to Spain, France, Germany & England. But when 9/11 happened, I only flew twice more & never flew again I'm embarrassed to even mention this, but in 1983, the very first time I went to Spain, I attended a "Bullfight". For me, when I realized the poor bull is killed at the end, I became almost hysterical & left the arena in floods of tears. I really had NO idea, it ends like this. I TRULY was heartbroken & SO horribly ashamed that I even attended an event like this. Obviously, I NEVER went to another & since then, I VERY rarely eat meat. Anyway, Spain is a FANTASTIC place to visit. I went to several beautiful palaces. I accidently went to a nude beach. I SWEAR it was accidently, though no one EVER believes me. It was called the "La Vinyeta", near Barcelona. I didn't even realize the folks were nude, until an older couple walked by me. THEN, it HIT me. EVERYONE was NUDE, LOL I could NOT get out of there fast enough. But you were right about ALL the leather goods one can find. I'm so glad you are with Frannie. She & her family have the ABSOLUTE best sense of humor, THE BEST !!
Sorry this is SO long. Finally, I just LOVE your channel, you have ioened my eyes to SO many different wigs & the care of wigs. Again, MANY THANKS for ALL your HARD work !!
Awwwe, thank you so much, Beautiful! I'm so sorry. I bet that was terrible finding out about the bulls. Don't feel too badly. you didn't know. LOL on the nude beach. Yep, I knew to stay away from there but only because I have friends in Barcelona. LOL. Too funny. Thank you, I'm really happy to be working with Frannie. She's such a pleasure to work with. xoxo Marlene
Thanks for doing this! Some of the salt and pepper colors in men's styles are a lot prettier than the ones in women's so seeing this video helped me decide this lady will also try out men's wigs
Hi, thank you so much for visiting! I agree about the colors and hoping some will be added to other collections. Thank you for letting me know the video was helpful! I appreciate it. xoxo Marlene
No one would guess it was a wig for men. Same thing with jeans. I’m very short. For years I went to our western wear store & purchased men’s jeans because I could chose the length I needed. No one knew they were men’s jeans. A lot of things are unisex even though they aren’t being marketed as such. Wigs are no different. If it works just go with it😂😂Thank you for sharing❤
Hi Nancy! Thank you so much for bringing this up! I'm 5'4" and have purchased men's jeans many times. There are many items on the market that can be worn by both men and women. Why not wigs? xoxo Marlene
Great video, Marlene! Thank you very much from someone with a large head. I don't wear short hair but if I would I'd definitely try out this style. And now I am hoping they come up with a long haired male version :)
Thank you so much, Dany! Check out Admiral by HIM. It's a beautiful long style (long hair male version). xoxo Marlene
Marlene, that is a great idea! My biggest question is whether the men’s wigs are priced like ours are. Thanks for the innovative shows!
Hi Barb, thank you so much for stopping by! I just did a price check and saw that Shirley's Wig Shoppe has it for around $243, so about the same price as our wigs. Mimi's price is a bit higher, but they usually surprise us with discounts. I got mine at Mimi's for under $200 since they were offering 40%. I say shop around, keep an eye out for sales, and definitely subscribe to Mimi's UA-cam channel because they surprise us with great deals such as the one I got. xoxo Marlene
@@MarlenesWigChatStudio Marlene, I LOVE that wig on you !! It reminds me sort of like Gabor's "Notion". It just looks FANTASTIC. If I wanted to order it, please don't laugh, but how do I go about it ? What is the name exactly ? Is it "Him" or "Darling" ?? I have ENOUGH trouble just ordering a woman's wig, LOL, and how do we look it up & where ? I have a 21 inch circumference. That's why I do not order Gabor wigs, they are huge on me. Sorry for all these silly questions.
What a great concept!! I never thought of this. I have a 22” circumference, but I also still have hair to put in it. (Thin but long) Also I have a wide and long face. Pixies tend to not cover my nape and hit higher on my face. They don’t look in proportion.
I’d love to give this a try. I’m just concerned if they’ll have the same color options.
I have to tell you, I spent a couple hours at Mimi's last week! I was hoping to buy a pixie, but felt like I looked terrible. I ended up buying JR January in Shaded Peach. I probably tried on 30 wigs and had so much fun with them. Kim even showed me their studio. I highly suggest visiting Mimi's! I think Darling is darling on you!
Thank you so very much for this wonderful video Marlene. What a fabulous idea, for women that need a slightly larger wig.
I would never have known that you were modeling a "man's" wig, if you had not revealed that fact. It looked absolutely beautiful on you. ❤️🥰❤️
How fun to have gone to Mimi's!!!! I hope to get there one day soon! I love those ladies! xoxo Marlene
Thank you so much, Loretta! xoxo Marlene
@@MarlenesWigChatStudio You should for sure, it was a lot of fun. I would have moved in for the week if they had let me!
You are so funny, I had to rewind that bit and watch it again, it did make me chuckle. That style does look good on you, but then most do anyway, regardless! Xx
LOL, Linda! So happy you got a chuckle! Thank you for visiting and the compliment! xoxo Marlene
Too big for me but very realistic looking!
Thank you so much, DW! xoxo Marlene
So cute 🥰
Thank you, Victoria! xo Marlene
I have mentioned before that there are smaller sizes needed in men's styles not just larger sized heads. There are so many others with different lifestyles where a smaller sized men's wig would be the ticket! "Daring" was my favorite. Maybe Hair You Wear might consider a smaller size as well.! You look great Marlene!
Hi Mo, thank you so much for stopping by! I agree! Daring is a great style and it, along with some others, should be made in smaller sizes or recreated for women's collection. xoxo Marlene
What a great video!
Thank you so much, CJ! xoxo Marlene
Interesting idea. I have a big noggin. I tried on Ellen wille and it was comical how small it was.
Thank you so much for visiting and the comment. LOL, I had to chuckle when I read it. xoxo Marlene
I think this is great! Thank you :)
Thank you so much, Donna! xoxo Marlene
Well Marlene, i couldn't rock one but you certainly can. Also, may I ask you another totally unrelated question. I need your advice.
Here's your comment, Beautiful! What question do you have for me? xo
@@MarlenesWigChatStudio oh I'm sorry, darling! I couldn't find it at all. Marlene, I know your favourite Hot Air Brush is by Hot Tools but there is absolutely NO place in Australia that sells them(I like the one with the 1.5ml barrel). I have tried everywhere to no avail. I did manage to get one from your Amazon in the USA a couple of years ago but as countries have different electrical outlets/voltages ect, I had to buy an adaptor to make it fit into my powerpoint. The issue that I had after that was that the hot brush kept dying every single 1 or 2 minutes. Honey, it was just so frustrating that I gave up. Could you possibly suggest another Hot Brush(preferably where I can buy it in Australia as well)? I'd like one with smaller barrel as I said. Please help me! 💚
Hi Beautiful, I just did a search for hot air brushes sold in Australia and found this website. I don't know what the $$ exchange is and if these are expensive in Australia; this company seems to sell great brands such as BaByLiss. I have a few hot tools from them. If this doesn't work for you, please let me know. I'll do some more research: www.hairhouse.com.au/collections/hot-brushes
@@MarlenesWigChatStudio thank you so much, lovely. I truly appreciate your help! I just had a look at the brushes on that website(holy heck, Australia is expensive), could you be even more of an angel to me and perhaps recommend one? It can't be too expensive (unfortunately, I've just had to move out of my state due to the outlandish rent crisis here)? 💚
Thanks for this review. I've wondered about the men's wigs because some of the styles are kinda cool looking. Why can't women wear them? No reason whatsoever. My circumference is 22 and a half, and some wigs fit a little small, even large sizes. Gabor fits me weirdly, never looks right. Men's wigs could be an answer!
Hi Michelle, thank you for visiting! I don't see any reason why we can't wear wigs marketed for the male population. I'm keeping this one and have every intention to continue wearing it. After recording this review, I realized I should have cinched it in a bit more. It will certainly fit larger circumference. xoxo Marlene
Did you delete my comment, Marlene? 😢
Absolutely not. I would never do that. I saw it, approved it, but I just haven't had time to respond. xoxo Marlene
@@MarlenesWigChatStudio I just didn't want you to be mad at me for annoying you with my questions, darlin'. 💚
I'd never be mad or upset with you. You're always welcome to ask me questions, my friend. xoxo Marlene
