5G will change the world as much as flying cars have changed the world since the 1950's. lol At 8:28 man, that's a big ass 5G phone! I'm staying with 4G for now till they get rid of the cart. xD
@H R < 5G phones put out a maximum power of about 100 milliwatts which is equal to sitting in front of the regular light bulb at home, basically has no affect on the human body no matter long you sit there. 5G tower antennas on the other hand put out up to 100 watts of power which is about 10 times less than a 1000Watts microwave oven. At 100 watts it's impossible to cook anything within minutes but will probably warm up the liquid in tissue after a while at less than half a meter away. Anything further away than a meter won't get affected, and this is where a lot of people have a misconception about microwave radiation, it can only carry significant power at very short ranges. Microwave power dissipates exponentially with distance (looses power quickly with distance). You could stand below the 5G tower forever and never get affected, while a bird landing on it might feel some warming sensation after a while. So being scared of 5G is basically like being scared watching TV. Course conspiracy theorists will also say that TV waves can fry your brains. LMAO The key in life is to use use everything in moderation, including 5G and everyone will be just fine.
@H R < I understand your concern, just keep in mind that a 100 milliwatt (at max, most of the time it's less than half depending on your distance from the tower) transmitter in a 5G phone gets its microwave energy dissipated to a non-dangerous level within inches from the device, which is roughly equal to the radiation of a 100W light bulb in front of you. Most phone calls are still going through the lower frequency GSM-4G-LTE channels, only active data is being transmitted over 5G, at least till they phase out 4G completely. So if you're just browsing a web site it only sends very short burst while fetching data, while video streaming is a continuous transmission. Therefore if you're streaming just lay the phone down in front of you, and you should be fine. Not trying to give you false hopes at all, but governmental regulatory agencies have conducted extensive studies on 5G radiation, and it was deemed safe as long as you don't have the phone glued to your head all day while constantly streaming data. If it makes you feel better, just keep a few inches of distance from a streaming 5G device using wired/wireless headphones or speakerphone. There are dozens of other more dangerous things in life that kill you faster than 5G, including a lightning strike, walking across the street, driving, flying, etc. Speaking of flying, it has been measured that you get more space microwave radiation on a single flight then you do by using a 5G for a whole year. Once again, everything in moderation, and you'll be fine. ;)
@H R < Well, everyone has to make their own decision based on their knowledge of the technology. Based on industry papers I've read, 4G will be around for the next 20+ years as a backup service while 5G is being deployed, so you may opt to use a 4G phone instead. I've been in the phone repair business for over 20 years around plenty of high frequency transmitters for extended periods of time, yet still haven't grown a unicorn, nor have I gotten cancer. lol Just a small correction, when I said "Microwave power dissipates exponentially with distance (looses power quickly with distance)", it means quite literally within inches of the device gets absorb by the air before it reaches your body, it doesn't need to up into atmosphere, nor does it accumulate in the room. So, I'll just leave it at that, and wish you the best. :)
YOU ARE A GENIUS. I have never hear this explained so well (I am a non-tech person). I will share it with my buds; I don't know ANYONE who understands this stuff. We work every day depending on our devices and a seamless network, but not understanding the technology at all. Thank you for explaining and demonstrating it so well. By the way, we see those rectangular antennas going up all over the country and now I know what they are for. Great job!
Please don't slow down! This was a fantastic delivery! To everyone else, you can learn to keep up with information like this. Like everything, it takes practice. Its rare to find UA-cam content that does not waste my time with nonsensical filler and irrelevant comments. Quite candidly, I was barely able to keep pace with the knowledge you shared. You earned a standing "O" for your very informative and well-prepared presentation, and you earned a new subscriber.
When I was a kid the only people I knew who had a computer was the Mad Professor on Felix The Cat and Astro Boy's father. Somehow I got through most of my life without a computer and only have a desktop because I prefer a large screen and a mouse and keyboard. I have a 4G smart phone which I use for the phone and a few apps. I have considered winding back my life to how I lived in the 1970's. Maybe I will one day. One thing is sure, I won't be getting any deeper into this computer dependency. Not after the dark secrets I have learned about 5G.
So basically, 5G which has been around before the Coronavirus started doesn't give everyone Coronavirus. In the Future, 4G LTE Pro has got you covered when 5G goes down for whatever reason. And as more devices get "Online" and start to require more Bandwidth the world will be begging for 6G. Got it. Excellent Content. I Subscribed.

The amout of hard work and dedication required to set up these networks and make them work properly is insane. Some really clever people who work on this, truly amazing!!!!

This channel sounds like "ColdFusion" to me. And by that I mean the content quality and representation, which is awesome. I believe this channel has potential.
rossforsyth5 he is just using his skill ;) On a serious note, he is trying to convey more content while trying to keep the video small. But instead he should try to deliver the same information in fewer words (by making better use of visual elements etc)
tom rose it will eventually connect YOUR PERSON and that’s not a joke. We’re all full of heavy metals making us all antennas. Do your own research unless you don’t care about anyone or anything in this world. Like so many others, if you don’t it’s on you!
Awesome video. These are the kinds of educational videos that broadcasters should be making instead of crying that they have no viewers. I learnt more about mobile networks in this video than from reading a hundred blog posts. Great stuff and thanks for making!
This dude is awesome and takes no prisoners as to the processing rate of your brain. He is scary bright and like clever folks, expects you to keep up. I am a reviewer of technology and considered good at translating from tech garble to plain language. This guy does that to another level, with total diction clarity and yet seriously crisp-fire delivery. If it is too much for your brain to handle, then play it in bits and press pause. But if you have a bit of RAM left in your brain, this will exercise it.

A 'boat load' of information that not only describes the 'current' development cycle of the 'G' network, but also explains the misunderstood limitations we experience vis a vis the 'promised' speeds with out $1200 cell phones... Yes, it did come out 'fast'... But one has to be able to 'focus' and understand the technology that fuels their 'expectations'! Excellent oral 'dissertation'!
In watching several of your videos about Gen5, I can see the end of Internet monopilies. It is not your videos alone, but the fast and evolving Internet technologies: A. I., augmented reality, virtual reality, etc. In that , I do not see how the Internet will die just because of rolling back Net Neutrality. It would be nice if you could do a video on what I am saying here regarding. Thank you.

4g works great, that fast talking sweet story about 5g ain't exciting me, cell phones need more space and better battery life that's what needs to be done. Skipping to the next generation of internet isn't really necessary there's so much more that can be done with 4g. Just my opinion.
bold to assume 5G is only gonna benefit your phone. I bet you don't know the first thing on how it is being used to cure viruses and for VR and AR technologies, not including autonomous cars.
Even with 5G, 4G will still exist. The reason is because of 4G frequencies can pass through walls unlike 5G. 5G is just an physical extension (use when accessible) to 4GLTE that's ever expanding.
people working on telecom tech are unrelated to people working on batteries and storage tech. these areas are unrelated. what you're saying is like telling engineers to stop wasting time on better gadgets and "just" go be a medical doctor to save lives.

This is a GREAT video, but you missed speaking about the most important facts: because the wireless "cell" site is using Massive MIMO antennas to form very tight energy beams directed toward each user device, (a) the amount of energy from the cell site, per connection is reduced dramatically, and (b) because the same beam-forming is used at the cell site when _receiving_ from each user device to _increase_ the incoming signal-to-noise ratio, the user device does not need to transmit as much energy, reducing the exposure to the user. Beam-forming 5G is, therefore, a _safer_ wireless technology than all earlier wireless "cellular" technologies, and should _increase_ battery life in user devices. This really needs to be emphasized to the general population.

Best presentation I have seen. I sold my first mobile phone in Sydney in 1985 for $5k. Brand was Novatel. The tech moved at speed then. Now beyond light speed. More users should see this so they can realise how the carriers like in the Philippines are throttling back tech releases and gouging their market for excessive profit. China Telco is here soon, massive competition will blast their directors off the boards and benefit all stakeholders including the largest, the public. Then the Phillipines will soar.

I just did a speed test on my sprint phone, In Metro Detroit 4g LTE. I got a ping of a whopping 321ms. My download speed was 5.63 Mbps, which is sufficient for watching a video. My upload speed was an atrocious .74 Mbp, which is not enough for me to have a video call. I turned on WiFi and the phone immediately started downloading updates. My Ping was worse at 404, Download was 5.53, and the upload test failed to run. After the updates were done: My ping was 109, down was 7.50 and up was 2.46 I ran the same test on my laptop, on the same WiFi and got: Ping 27, Down 33.50 and up 5.19. Does this just mean my phone sucks and it not capable of handing speed?
phones are very optimized for low power use. low latency also means constant communication, which also means you're using more power. since prolonging battery life is typically more important for most people, phones are optimized to prioritize battery life.
I like the comparison to adding another lane to a highway. It's an interesting comparison because adding lanes to highways tends to make congestion worse as traffic increases to meet capacity. Seems like wireless connections could behave similarly.
downloaded and played on at slower speed; works for Olde 20th century ears :D one other point. do you see a transition to VLEO Starlink Satellite Connection for Cell Phones / Computer Tablets in the next 10 years...
Just for a bit of balance I am watching this at 2x and don't find it too fast, Philip DeFranco is pretty fast and that goes well for him, now even the iPad and iPhone versions have speed up slow down functions and I love it when the original is fast because that makes the amount of info I can absorb at 2x even greater so good for you :) and I was born in 1980 so that 20th century ear thing is noise ;)
Sandeep Jangir: It sounds like a computerised voice to me. I sometimes put the subtitles on if someone is speaking unclearly and keep my finger ready to pause the film. Cheers. Hope you aren't receiving this too late!
The whole problem with the 4G and 5G is that the microwave frequencies utilised are hopeless, they don't pass through solid objects very easily, they need to go further along the radio frequency band and use the wavelengths ham operators use, it would make them more safe and require far less antennas.
At 1:10 now that's an O.G. cellular phone folks, not much bigger than today's large screen beasts... as they say history repeats itself... ha-ha Even with 4G LTE I sometimes get 80Mbps down / 50Mbps up... who needs 5G right? wrong!
Nice work with the information sharing with the world. Still, there a question - how come you used Ericsson's video's for your own, did you buy the right's?
i think future techs _will_ require optimization from the software side of things. it doesn't matter if you have 100gbps if it's obstructed by a single wall. thankfully not everything needs fast speeds, so you could use these services for the low speed but long range bandwidths. android apps like whatsapp will be able to tell the OS which traffic is low speed but high demand (like messages) so the OS can send it with low frequency while other things (videos) should use high frequency.
As a Gamer, I am gonna be happy with this...been only ever having Internet that only goes at 1 MegaBit per Second these past 9 Years. Having a Mobile Broadband Phone that will be Hotspot capable at these speeds will be awesome no matter what speeds it dips at so long as the ping is faster than 80 ms then I'll be happy.
Could someone explain me how current full duplex solution will cause the problem when we use 5G? I could not understand why doubling the frequency spectrum leads to causing problems with current solution.
I suppose my question would be in regards to the health implications, as we will be looking at a massive increase in broadcast devices, and I presume these devices will not always be beam forming, for example when your device is looking for a better QOS it must broadcast to find a better connection. Just wondering.
wifi is at 2.4 giga hertz which is a frequency that manipulates water molecules in a body made up of 70% water that's scary. 5g I hear will be a 60 gigahertz which happens to be the frequency that affects oxygen molecules. If you don't see what's happening by this point you need to learn more about so called conspiracy theories. the controllers have poisoned our water, coated our food in pesticides and herbicides (gmo=they made the plant able to handle higher amounts of chemicals), and our sky is being polutted with aerosol, strontium, barium, aluminum and who knows what else. If you want to survive in this modern age you must detox heavy metals often, avoid gmo and processed foods like the plague and only drink spring, distilled or reverse osmosis water.
quiet americassleepin whilst i would like to dismiss your examples as conspiracy theory gone mad... sadly your not wrong. Except perhaps our ability to influence change.... if we gave a crap. It makes ideas like VR worlds more like the things of nightmare than freedom to express yourself. The freedom to be brainwashed and think it was your idea.
Very instructive video! In the graph at time 3:30 you write KHz, that is, Kelvin . Hertz, when is clear you wanted to write kHz (1000 Hz). It is a small difference but it is also a small effort writing following SI standards. Thanks for fixing on the next video!
Hi guys Ajit Pai here aka PaiBoi just letting you guys know that me and the FCC are now considering the cell network to be under the "broadband" network so now the new rules to replace net neutrality applies to sell data, you're welcome 😊

Amazing video with tons of information, though as many have said, slowing it down a bit would help the ingestion of so much info. Also, better structure and transitions would be appreciated. The last thing would be slightly more variation in speaking tone, your somewhat mono-tone and for many that in itself can be distracting. Sorry for so much criticism but I wanted to put in my two cents. Hope your channel continues to grow and I look forward to future content! Subscribed!
I must be the anomaly because if you cant talk fast go do a makeup tutorial. as for monotone, your not a singer your an informant. if i wanted tone I'd go listen to David bowie. all you need to work on is clear pronunciation. aside from that this video was great.
berzerkfurry477 Tone matters regardless of what your doing. Go to a college lecture about anything with a monotone professor and tell me the same thing.

I find it annoying when someone sounds like they're obviously reading from a paper. This kid is not a good speaker. Sorry. Aside from that, the other content (e.g. interviews, animations, etc.) doesn't fit the narration which leaves me to suspect this content is not original.
haha, clearly you dont know anything. eatch 5g hub needs fiber connection to operate and currently 5g is limited to 20-100meter range so good luck with that...
I've been wireless for about 4 months now with a 4g router. Good speed, fair price, no problems so far. Check 4g antenna shop. It's service thru T-mobile, costing half what my cable company did, and it's not down every other day. I'm in a rural area, but have a good shot at 2 towers. The router is 12v and they claim gigabit internet traveling down the interstate, but I haven't tried it yet... 4G internet isn not a 'future goal' - it's a good option now.
I wonder what the mentality of the 826 viewers giving this video a thumbs down are thinking, and would suggest each time someone gives a thumbs down on any UA-cam video, they be required to post a comment on why they don't like it... Something like ; "I gave this video a thumbs down because ___________". I myself found this video very informative.
Funny thing about latency of 2ms. For years I have played Call of Duty via a cell phone tethered to a PS4. I wonder if I was fucking myself over, it is however, faster than my DSL. I could easily kick ass in the match and all the lag and stuff just had to do with the game and internet configuration where it doesn't matter how good your internet is, you can still get fucked when it comes to connection.
You and your DNA stops when they fully implement 5G, so well be happy if you even get the chance to experience 6G.. only those who don't get braintumors, cancer or some other illness thx to the almighty 5G is the the only one that will experience it.. xD

I am a real tech head and love new technology, but people say that this 5G will hurt people. I don't know who to believe. Please help if you can.
You sound a little bit like ColdFusion TV (Degogo), not bad but try to be more original with you videos in the future just an advise... But anyway that's not the point for now, you've done a very good job with this video congratulation!!!!
@violetroseish the term S.M.A.R.T. is a military acronym for Secret Military Armaments in Residential Technology. The results of the 20million dollar 10 year trial on phone radiation doesn't look good and US toxicology report doesn't look promising for the industry either.
So, with self driving cars needing the bandwidth of 5G to truly work properly and effectively, is not having it yet(still on 4G network) part of the cause of some of the crashes with Tesla's autopilot?
1ms ping, yea I'm sure. I'll believe it when I see it. more likely it's 1ms only because it's still in testing and not in use. line of sight means I'll never see it in my neck of the woods. just give me fiber damn it.. enough with the monopolies.
low latency wireless communication has been a thing for a while, you just don't see it because it's not wifi nor 4G (these are optimized for efficiency and low energy consumption). i work at an ISP and we have antennas that work between 8GHz and 18GHz at constant 1ms in distances of 20km. if you have a logitech lightspeed wireless mouse, that thing works flawlessly at 1ms latency, and it uses the 2.4GHz band.
I'm in the telco field so what he is say is what is happening in the industry or being implemented at certain test sites. Be ready and great presentation.
As far as a warning about advertisers, the people who would be watching your videos are probably the smart kind that know how Cell Companies are. If not, I can offer you 10G for the low low price of 20 bit coin per month!
I recently found out that the reason why my local Internet provider, Frontier, has refused to upgrade my service from their horrid DSL for the last 10 years is that Frontier acquired (in a long chain of acquisitions) a former Bell company that was grandfathered in to not have to comply with local carrier agreements regarding coverage. And, they will not have to comply until 2023. So, I switched to an outfit called Unlimitedville.com. They provide a month-to-month unlimited data contract that uses T-Mobile and they provide a nice commercial-grade router. My data speeds have gone from, usually, less than 1.5 Mb/s to about 20 Mb/s with an accompanying reduction in latency. It is much more expensive, but, finally, I have Internet that actually works. How do you see companies like Unlimitedville.com doing in this future evolution of WiFi / Cell? And, thank you for an outstanding summary!
AI will need or needs a network that will be extremely fast, hence 5G in order to operate seamlessly. Skynet is where we are headed, hopefully without the hostile robot takeover. Will see where this future society takes us.
funny that the FCC just ruled to change the broadband definition to 10mbps down and 1mbps up. almost makes you think they are going to 2 tier the internet with one group stuck at 2011 speeds and data caps while the other benefits for 5g connectiviy

bold to assume 5G is only gonna benefit your phone.

After the updates were done: My ping was 109, down was 7.50 and up was 2.46
I ran the same test on my laptop, on the same WiFi and got: Ping 27, Down 33.50 and up 5.19.
Does this just mean my phone sucks and it not capable of handing speed?
Freedom Talk Media I guess your phone can handle speed but has an weaker wifi antenna.
Yes this means either your phone is having poor connectivity or you are being throttled due to high density of population in your area.
phones are very optimized for low power use.
low latency also means constant communication, which also means you're using more power. since prolonging battery life is typically more important for most people, phones are optimized to prioritize battery life.
@@BattousaiHBr That explains the latency but what about its inability to handle the speed the WiFi was at?
@@FreedomTalkMedia bad latency negatively affects speeds, especially TCP (which i think is probably what that speedtest uses).
I like the comparison to adding another lane to a highway. It's an interesting comparison because adding lanes to highways tends to make congestion worse as traffic increases to meet capacity. Seems like wireless connections could behave similarly.

Still, there a question - how come you used Ericsson's video's for your own, did you buy the right's?
All this and it will still depend on the strength of the signal where you are. So if you are screwed now you will be screwed moving forward as well :/
i think future techs _will_ require optimization from the software side of things. it doesn't matter if you have 100gbps if it's obstructed by a single wall. thankfully not everything needs fast speeds, so you could use these services for the low speed but long range bandwidths. android apps like whatsapp will be able to tell the OS which traffic is low speed but high demand (like messages) so the OS can send it with low frequency while other things (videos) should use high frequency.

@violetroseish the term S.M.A.R.T. is a military acronym for Secret Military Armaments in Residential Technology. The results of the 20million dollar 10 year trial on phone radiation doesn't look good and US toxicology report doesn't look promising for the industry either.
@@enigmaticloremaster1700 Thank you. I have often wondered what it "really" meant.
Are you sure you’re not just slow? 🤔
So, with self driving cars needing the bandwidth of 5G to truly work properly and effectively, is not having it yet(still on 4G network) part of the cause of some of the crashes with Tesla's autopilot?
Jeff S Tesla’s autopilot does have slow latency of 4G which causes some of its issues
1ms ping, yea I'm sure. I'll believe it when I see it. more likely it's 1ms only because it's still in testing and not in use. line of sight means I'll never see it in my neck of the woods. just give me fiber damn it.. enough with the monopolies.
What About Health
Effects on People and Animals ?? No One Said Any Thing About How Dangerous 5g is
low latency wireless communication has been a thing for a while, you just don't see it because it's not wifi nor 4G (these are optimized for efficiency and low energy consumption).
i work at an ISP and we have antennas that work between 8GHz and 18GHz at constant 1ms in distances of 20km.
if you have a logitech lightspeed wireless mouse, that thing works flawlessly at 1ms latency, and it uses the 2.4GHz band.
Very well put together. Thank you
The intro...reminds me Coldfusion.
Speech seemed a bit too fast for me. Tried viewing it at 75% speed .. but that distorts the speech. Otherwise, this video was a decent overview of 5G.
funny that the FCC just ruled to change the broadband definition to 10mbps down and 1mbps up. almost makes you think they are going to 2 tier the internet with one group stuck at 2011 speeds and data caps while the other benefits for 5g connectiviy
More schemes to soak consumers.
There will be 5G caps just like 4g.. Afterall, that is where wireless carriers make most of their money..
