Interesting to see "Coogan's Run" video on the shelf behind his dad. Nobody ever asks Steve about that series, but to come up with 5 new characters (plus Paul Calf), all of whom were British "types" that we could recognise, and all hilarious, was one of his greatest feats. In fact 6 characters if you include Mike Crystal's alter ego, Clint Stallone.
I like him a lot and have followed his career. I dont think he has a genius at all,I think like most he worked at it and he was IK at voices. I think his skill is in character writing, and he stuck at it and deserves his success.
Holy Shit.... Steve Coogan is his own Dad !!!
Paul Calf who suddenly got into freeform jazz is Steve Coogan's dad.
It’s great that youngsters like Steve are getting a chance
Either Coogan is impersonating his Dad or he looks a helluva lot like him. I seriously have no idea which is the case.
Steve Coogan plays all the members of his family
He was great in 24 Hour Party People playing Tony.
agree

Tony Coogan. Is that a perfect merging of Tony Wilson and Steve Coogan?
Coogan Sr & Jr sound like exactly the same person!!
I’m not convinced that isn’t Coogan playing his Dad
i agree with everyone steve coogan is the double of his dad they even sound alike. steve will really look his dad in a few years time
His dad is so cool
Was that Freddie Boswell from the Bread series next to Ricky Tomlinson in the Upfront clip?
Mrs Coogan definitely didn't jump the fence with that one..
He would end up playing Tony a year later
This is a great upload. Does Steve know that when he's a lot older, he will look exactly like his dad.
Looks like his creative partner, Henry Normal was inspiration for Alan Partridge's hair style.
If anyone believes that's his dad and not Steve playing his dad.. ..you'll been fooled.
god bless Tony
Shobna Ghulati in the opening credits.
Is the way Coogan speaks naturally an accent, or an impersonation of his father?
A chip off the old block might I say😊
