In today's vlog we head to Walt Disney World's Polynesian Village Resort to check in for our Disney Bucket List staycation! We were so excited to check into our Polynesian Bora Bora Bungalow! We never thought this was a place we'd ever get to actually stay! We start our trip with a full and detailed tour of the bungalow followed by some lunch at Capt Cooks the quick service restaurant located at the Polynesian. Then we got dinner to go from Kona Cafe which we enjoyed back in out bungalow. We show you around the resort a little bit and then we end out the night. We can't wait to share the rest of our staycation with you! We hope you enjoyed the tour and we will see you tomorrow with another staycation video!

Edit: I forgot to add something! The torch she holds is part of her story. She taught Polynesian mortals how to fish by holding a torch over their heads to lure the fish to the light! the torch was also lit when she stood on top of the tiki room!

AND I found that Tiki at 1:20 in a Tracker Video from 2 years ago called Walt Disney World Polynesian Village Resort Tour | Hotel Grounds, Pools & Food Locations.
Fun fact about the separate commodes and showers: across Polynesia, it is a massive faux pas to have a commode and a shower in the same room. The commode is Tapu (taboo or negative energy) for obvious reasons; it’s a waste receptacle. Whereas the shower is Noa (good/positive energy) because you use it for cleansing. And the two are not allowed to mix, since one neutralises the other. Most modern buildings in NZ try to incorporate this aspect into their construction.
I really like that Disney was sensitive to the cultural aspects, even something that’s subtle enough that if you weren’t familiar with Polynesian culture, you wouldn’t think it was a deliberate decision.

Really enjoying the "after the trip" room tour. What a great idea to talk about things that worked and things that didn't.
totally agree with why you like this way of giving the tour, but do you not enjoy just seeing the pristine state of the room upon arrival, and the excitement of whats to come? when the tour is given after the stay, the negatives are kind of a bummer. now idk about you, but i am not trying to book a bungalow anytime in the near future, so i enjoy the positivity of just living vicariously, rather than if I were to book any time soon!

So I definitely like the cabins at Wilderness Lodge better! Especially because of the screened in area with no bugs and a hot tub.

I don’t understand how people can surrive bugs in there place they are staying I think if you are staying at the Poly in A Inside room it’s better and some people may Disagree but why would you want to stay in A Bunglow When there are bugs and insects in A Polynesian Bunglow I Agree with you.
I feel they learned from their "mistakes" in the bungalows and corrected them in the Wilderness Lodge cabins

so when I did my college program in 2018 me and my friends walked around the three resorts by the MK and we went to the Polynesian and we wanted to take a photo on the beach and so we asked this lady if she could take our photo and she did! After the photo we talked to her for a bit and she said how she is staying in the bungalows with her husband and daughter and she asked us if we wanted to take photos on the porch of her bungalow! we were so excited and she gave us a whole tour of their place and the husband and daughter were so confused as to why their wife/mom brought it a bunch of girls in their early 20s to take photos on their porch swing and hot tub 😂 but it was so amazing and I want to stay here one day!
I met my husband on our college program back in 2003. We are still crazy Disney people. Last year we finally got the chance to stay in a Bungalow. It was amazing.

Before the tiki room facade in Disneyland collapsed, she was in a canoe above it. She holds a torch that in the beginnings of Disneyland was lit 24/7.

The last thought I’d have while staying at Disney is “hmm I wonder how much I weigh.? Better get on that scale.” 😂😂

The Tiki Goddess that you keep seeing is Uti and used to be on the exterior of the Enchanted Tiki Room in Disneyland.

Hey! that's me and my wife at 32:09 . We are at the table on the left hand side with the server talking to us. We got to meet Tim on way out! Was definitely one of the highlights of our vacation! We have watched Tim and Jen for years, they are like part of our family. Every day I come home and ask my wife "What are Tim and Jen up to today?" and then we watch their vlog. They are just so full of positivity, which is something we all desperately need right now! And, Jackson is so adorable he always makes us smile. Keep up the good work guys!

The tour of the room after the stay was a cool idea. I liked it! I'm also loving these staycation videos in general.

I'm glad they are able to do them otherwise I'd have nothing of quallity to watch. I love Disney but due to travel restrictions I can't cross the border to visit right now so this is the next best thing.

None of these stays they’ve done recently are comped. They’ve paid out of pocket for all.
Jen & Tim mentioned in previous video that they had planned to travel this year, but because of COVID-19 they had to change their plans.
We saw the trackers at capt cooks and they are so nice!! Was afraid to ask for a picture during the social distance time but Jen was nice enough to stop what she was doing and talk to us for a few minutes while getting our food!
luckily for disney they’ll never go bankrupt with you being there 😂

I love this video! It is very informative. It would be great if you guys could take advantage of the low crowd and do more of these. Would love to see you three at other resort staycations and trying the food at those resorts like Bay Lake Tower, Grand Floridian, Beach Club, Copper Creek, etc..... You guys are very informative on room details and restaurant details and activity details. We love seeing what is currently going on there with the low crowd numbers, so please consider more staycations. You guys are Awesome!

Love your videos, staying at a bungalow is my dream. We faithfully follow your videos and love them! With all that's going on and compromised kiddos I'm not sure when we'll get back to Disney, but thankfully we have you to bring that to us. Whenever I'm having a bad day, I binge watch your videos! We also have a 1 yr old who loves Jackson. She squeals in delight when she sees him, I think she has her first crush!

I’m 18 and we go to Disney 2 times a year. I’ve slept in that lol o and stitch little bed over 13 times in my life😂 it’s so peaceful looking at that artwork while falling asleep and hearing the water and the poly ambiance

We’ve been wanting to stay in a bungalow at the Poly for so long! While it looks pretty awesome, the bugs turn me off a little. The cabin seemed much nicer to sit outdoors because it was screened. Maybe we’ll stay at the Poly in a regular room 🤷🏼♀️
That was my concern with the bungalows. Too many bugs from the water!
Life Lately We stayed in one in August and there were no bugs.

Gregg B I agree, they’re high rent! Thats another reason we haven’t stayed there 😂. For that price I better not see a bug for 5 miles! 😂
Gregg B. The way to make these bungalows “affordable” (ha!) is through Disney Vacation Club. We’ve done a split stay with 4 days in a studio at the Polynesian and 3 days in the bungalows when we needed to use up our points. We’re staying for 5 nights at Christmas in the bungalows because, again, we need to use up our points since our trip earlier this year got canceled. Frankly, I don’t know how anyone can actually pay cash for these - they’re ridiculously expensive. I’ve read that the Hollywood people stay there when they visit. DVC helps us regular folks have some fun. Hope this helps.

When he's reary, you could cut up chicken in small pieces, bread it in Sprinkled Cheese and Bake for Chicken Nuggets. That way, he won't get all the stuff restaurants add to the nuggets. They'll be 100% pure.
Katherine Grince I agree There is A Chance Jackson can choke if it’s A really big piece of Chicken. It would be Terrible just to see Jackson Choke on Anything it happened when I was young I choked on Miachriellea sticks it came with sauce and I just choked on it. It will probaly happen to Jackson Someday but I hope it never happens. I am 14 years old now and When I was young I choked not on everything it was very rare but I also choked on Bacon to took A Big bite that’s why today I Take small bites!
I choked on an ice cube while visiting a family friend when I was maybe 8? My mom had no idea what to do other than whack me on the back, which our family friend told her not to do. She did the Heimlich maneuver on me and got it out. It was pretty terrifying.

I think your feedback about spiders is the most helpful thing you’ve ever told us. Now I don’t have to be tempted to spend so much money to stay there! 😂 the only thing I needed to hear to change my mind. 😂
When I used to do photography, we'd use a purple filter over the lens to counteract the yellow cast from incandescent lighting. Maybe that's a possibility for your lenses?
I think you guys are transitioning towards 1 nap a day. Loved that period. One 2 hour nap per day at lunchtime. Heaven!

Yes! I looked it up and for a Saturday night in October 2020 it's $727 before taxes. The most we've ever paid for a room was $400, which we can afford but have only done it for special times (like an anniversary and a stay ON the beach).
Amazing! Love the outside area overlooking the water with Cinderella’s castle in view and the fact you could watch the fireworks with the music pumping in (when they’re on)

Hi Tim Tracker, the pump noise you hear in the closet is a sewage Ejector pump, it collects and pumps out when full so you are correct, there is a pump in that closet! Love your review!
Last year we ate at Captain Cook's, it was okay, however we then sat on the beach to the left of your cabin and watched the fireworks while eating a Dole whip, magical memories!
I really enjoy these longer videos, the world is tough right now and the longer the break.... the better.

That microwave/oven combo is an awesome addition. I had one in my house up north in addition to my regular stove and one memorable Thanksgiving where we had dozens of people, that extra oven made the cooking possible. It's good to know those bungalows have that option. Very nice. Here's to one day being able to host a large celebratory dinner somewhere! I love your presentation.

Bet the "whole-house toilet" macerates, as well as pumps the waste. The bungalow is basically and RV suspended over water.
I actually liked the lighting when you were filming in the evening. It was relaxing and it reminded me fire light, like the glow of tiki torches. 🔥🙂
