I prefer the 2 buckle, 3 strap combo. That way, I just get the same buckle in gold and silver, so I can easily match my metals as well as the leathers.

I used to have a friendly competition at work with my buddy of who could dress better…one of the girls at work told me, “You will always win because you don’t have ear hair and take care of your grooming better”. It was that day I realized grooming is essential along with all the other details. Haha #legend

A miracle my daughter told me about. Dawn dish soap for stains. I am not kidding, it is amazing! Put it liberally on the stain, wait a few minutes or even an hour, then wash it normally. Gone! I’ve actually used it on a number of shirts and pants that have been in the back of my closet or hanging in the basement for years… stain gone even though I had washed them numerous times. You will be blown away !

I agree with keeping the collar inside the sweater. And, if you are wearing a shirt without a button down collar, a magnetic collar stay would work perfectly in that regard.

If there is one word to describe your style is class. You are meticulously dressed and in addition your commentaries/opinions are also that of class and tact without sacrificing who you are. Because of you I am ever more conscious of my appearance . I iron, match socks to pants, shoes & belts, use collar stays and have a seamstress who tailors my pants and on occasion coats and jackets for an upscale look. Thank you!

This video should especially be watched by men under 30. I can't tell you how many times I've had business meetings with someone under 30 and their clothes look like they have slept in them. And the worst: a guy in a decent sport coat and slacks, wearing sneakers. It makes it hard for me to take that person seriously. I'm 44. In my 20s, I showed up for work in dry cleaned, pressed clothes, clean, polished shoes and always well groomed. Even when I went to the clubs in LA in my 20s and early 30s, my friends and I would put in effort to look as good as possible. Now maybe that's not as important in the Midwest or South but going out in a Tap Out t-shirt or a t-shirt that's sold in 3 packs at Wal-Mart somehow seems to be acceptable now. My goal at the clubs was always to attract an educated woman who had her shit together and I never felt I would do that in a an ill fitting shirt and wrinkled jeans. As a recent widower, it pains me that at some point I will probably go back out on the market and deal with the complete lack of personal care that appears to be acceptable now. My late wife was a fashion model in NYC in her early and mid 20s and never left the house without looking her best. Even if we were just going to Coffee Bean on a Saturday morning, she would take 30-60 minutes to get ready. Initially it drove me crazy but then when I would see the looks she got and the looks I got from guys who were jealous that she was with me, it made it all worth it. She always quoted that old expression, "you only have one chance to make a first impression."
Keep up the great work. I preach the same things you do to my younger friends and acquaintances. Unfortunately, 90% of the time it falls on deaf ears.

I took your advice a couple of months ago and checked out Anson’s belts. Revolutionary! And you are right about customer care… it’s almost like family. I’ve turned a couple of buddies and my son-in-law onto them, and they love them too! The $99 deal is incredible. And, the belt hanger is perfect for keeping the belts organized.

A couple of suggestions … no need to purchase a special sneaker cleaning kit. Just look for Mr. Clean “Magic Erasure” in the laundry aisle of your grocery store. Simply dampen the sponge (several in the box) and wipe the dirt/marks off your white sneakers. Works like “magic”. 😉👍🏻. Second suggestion … eliminate the yellowing of shirts in the pit of your underarms by switching to ALUMINUM FREE deodorant. Look for the spray can to say “aluminum free”. THAT is what causes the telltale yellowing. 😮. It was time for me to replace my white tees anyway and I decided at the same time to switch to ALUMINUM FREE DEODORANT … viola … no more yellow stains! 👍🏻. #Legend

I'm surprised you received backlash for the collar inside a sweater look. I always felt those who didn't tuck their collar in were a bit careless. Same with wearing a shirt and sweater and leaving the shirt untucked. It never looks clean cut or polished.

I understand you not using starch but if i put Magic Sizing on that folded over area under the button holes, it will, after a few washings and re-applying will help that stay in place or at least neater so there isn't as much to do to straighten it. Plus i think the magic sizing helps protect the fabric and makes it look better, longer.

I am guilty of the stained white shoes. When I get too lazy, I just stop wearing them, which defeats the purpose of owning them. I began using shoe trees last year, and they are a game changer! If you have a lot of shoes, just use the cheaper plastic ones for cheaper shoes and the expensive wooden ones for dress/expensive shoes.

I am here because I like your style and your video but I agree with you always say about style being personal... If you allow me, a round neck sweater (and possibly any sweater) without a collar (shirt or polo) gives me the idea of wearing a pyjama. Also, I find you keep the sleeves in this video too short, I get the feeling that you are about to immerse your arms in water to wash something, for example.
