That's literally what it feels like they did every time I come across one.
Lmao right
they're very efficient so that's not really a bad thing lol
@@sigmamaleaffirmationhypnob7340 they never _feel_ efficient though. They just feel like someone wanted to fancy so they just kids randomly tossed it in.
@@NormalGayBro they don't "feel" efficient because you gotta slow down a bit when going straight, but in reality they got a better flow than a normal junction and are a lot faster than junctions with traffic lights. With proper lane management they work wonders, but they're not the universal solution to every traffic problem. Cloverleaves, diverging diamonds and other types of road interchanges are even more efficient but they're a lot more expensive to construct.
@@sigmamaleaffirmationhypnob7340 those other ones are nice and feel good too. Roundabouts, however, manage to be more efficient while feeling like an inconvenience which is really pretty impressive.

I don't think he knew the game all that well, and he was probably on a time limit in front of the camera so he was building something super basic. I just got the game during free weekend on Steam and my first couple cities have basically died due to over-congested traffic and not enough public transport. I love these new generation city planners. Everything has to "look" and "feel" original or different and not "boring" grid patterns. But grid patterns are some of the most efficient designs that can be had(both in game and in the real world.)
Actually in Cities Skylines it is not very efficient to only use grid patterns. You use the space very efficient, but the traffic will be a mess. Im not sure if thats the case in reality though but I could imagine.
However to be honest I think efficiency is not the highest priority at least in cities skylines and grid patterns are indeed pretty boring.

For some reason Cities: Skylines has a stroke with traffic

I built Culver City once, from Sawtelle and the 90 Fwy to Washington and, close to La Brea. It came out nice until the population hit about 100,000 and everything went awry. What usually happens about that level of population is the city services seem to go everywhere, to the point of ignoring their nearby services. I followed one garbage truck from the SE of Culver CIty to almost LaBrea and Washington. When it got there it turned around. I then noticed a few more following that same route, abandoning their neighborhood around the 90 and Washington. Culver City then got the treatment from me. POOF, it was gone.
That being said, if your pops get close to that number, you would be best advised to get the MOD called Enhanced District Services which actually properly allocates service vehicles to their areas. I worked in Culver City for years at Pacific Alarm across from now SONY STUDIOS (Pacific Alarms is on Sepulveda now) and lived in Manhattan Beach. Can you image following your hometown garbage truck from MB to CC while your trash piles high? LOL. Best wishes to Culver CIty, the area around Brotman Hospital is looking very good now yet still maintains some of the charm along Venice Blvd that the ages have produced.
