I love these new generation city planners. Everything has to "look" and "feel" original or different and not "boring" grid patterns. But grid patterns are some of the most efficient designs that can be had(both in game and in the real world.)
Actually in Cities Skylines it is not very efficient to only use grid patterns. You use the space very efficient, but the traffic will be a mess. Im not sure if thats the case in reality though but I could imagine. However to be honest I think efficiency is not the highest priority at least in cities skylines and grid patterns are indeed pretty boring.

That's outdated information, nowadays grid patterns aren't valued as highly anymore. Also, cities skylines does an extra bad job with them
For some reason Cities: Skylines has a stroke with traffic
@@CraftBasti it isn't outdated if preference is the deciding factor. It simply means it isn't preferred. What happens when grids come back? Twisty loopy land wasting inner cities will be considered "outdated information."

Lol. Low density urban sprawl is a plague.
That's american problem
الإسلام هو تحفة الشيطان it a problems on the west coast, specifically California and Arizona, not all of the US though
High density urban areas are a plague too, all this noise and rush that adds up to your stress and shortens your lifetime over years. I know some architects and city planners would want cities with ultradense everything and people stacked up in public transport, but that's good for architects and city planners, not for people living there.
Tomasz Kolowca I disagree I live in a very densely populated area and i love it. If you don’t like that then don’t live there, but a lot of people do

COUNTRY ROADS!
ITT: People seeing that a man isn't good at playing a simplified video game about city building and conclude he is therefore bad at his job
Tbh he is good at his job, but some stuff just makes me frustrated. For example, he doesnt zoom in when building roads, public transport is gone, building districts before roads, blah blah blah. Not saying that you can't play like that, but I swear I can do better.
@@amberlewis012 congratulations you can play a simplified video game about a profession better than an actual professional that doesn't play video games! Incredible achievements
People are saying stuff like the city doesn’t work and traffic will be a mess but like it’s a game. The traffic in the game will be bad. Besides, he doesn’t kniw how to play the game so it would be better if he actually knew
@@megxmoonx The traffic gets bad due to over-congestion, such as merging several lanes into one road. When laid out properly, it doesn't happen.
Amberlewis Gaming yeah but can you plan an actual city irl? You may be able to plan one in the game and he can’t, but he can do it irl sooo
I can relate, it really does take a while to make a city, even in simulation, work perfectly... I took 2 years studying road designs to help me understand what their purposes truly are in cities, then I fused that with other things I learned including the experience of playing the game into my current city that now has 153K in Population.

The thing that made me impressed is he reads the feedbacks a lot. I’m assuming he does this in real life and that made him successful in his carrier. I liked it!
The best part is, that's just one square, he has so much more to unlock for his city.
Listening to this guy work, I can see why CA is such a pretty mess.
Don't know where you get California is such a mess. We're the fourth largest economy in the world, we live in some beautiful cities-I for one in a beach town that is just awesome. Yep, we have traffic issues, but what big city doesn't? Ever noticed the famed German autobahns, those that claim their traffic mitigation is world class? Not so, often choked by traffic. Traffic will always be an issue and once a city starts building a mass transit system, it's already at a choke point. No easy answer for traffic - gotta get from here to there to make yourselves one of the largest economies in the world - period.
Erin Freize, u should come over sometime. You’ll change your mind
@@hgr4255 California didn't becone one of the largest economies in the world with their current philosophies. You guys are slowly but surely choking yourselves and you're going to feel it in 10 years. Also, autobahns work fantastically, I don't know where you got that they don't
