Love the zoom in from the entire US to the field you are working on.
It's cool to see you and your middle son working to build a better relationship with each other . I am rooting for the both of you that it works out .
My dad planted about 70 acres of corn in 1969 and he used an old two row JD corn head that belonged to my granddad that was originally bought for an old JD 45 combine in the 1950's but dad was using it on his JD 95 combine one of our good neighbors who had his crop laid by in sept ran the combine for dad RIP JURL CLAYTON you were a fine man
Matt get your crop out don't worry about the viewers u guys just keep farming an I will keep watching an so will everyone else
We dealt with aflatoxin in 2012. We discovered most of it is in the fines. We had a couple loads get rejected and we just brought them home and ran them thru an auger with a screen to get the fines out and then the loads passed.
Matt
First of all Thank y’all for taking the time to take a camera around all day and film. I’m a farmer to and I couldn’t imagine taking the time to do videos shots. So thanks for all y’all do. Just get them when you can
I would say put out more videos regularly. As long as it’s not extremely poorly put together I’m sure most people won’t even notice the difference in quality. Plus more regular videos is better for channel growth. Enjoyed the video 👍🏽
Knowing sorry for the type o and thanks for everything that you do for our survival more people don’t know what the food comes from
Love all the videos! Do what you can. Harvest is most important. Love and many thanks to y’all and all of the American Farmers!
Whatever you post is good with me. Because life is always changing and if we get one video or ten in a month we'll take what you can do. Just keep safe and healthy.
The shot from inside the combine is amazing.
I love that red and blue paint. I’m green across the board. But the ‘real’ international harvester was way ahead of Deere. They had a rotary combine 22 years before Deere caught up, and their strong 70’s vintage tractors had mechanical front wheel assist. Deere put out a hydraulic front drive. All it did was insure you got stuck worse lol
Thanks so much matt that you do for the channels content and thanks for letting us view your progress and your family progress as well thanks for everything that you do for feeding all of us we will definitely have to respect our food choices thanks for bringing it down to earth for us not nowing what our food comes from these videos are very awesome and I wish you and your family the very much love and very much love into this season this year
Whatever is easiest for you Matt. We will get by on Whatever you can get done.
Harvest and work is #1. Just do what you can and ignore the negative comments.
Whatever works best for you. Thanks for sharing.
Harvest has to be the top priority... put out videos as you can and get the work done... as much as I really enjoy your videos...
You don't owe us anything you do what you can we will get along with whatever you can put out good luck and God bless
Nothing is perfect 💓
Y'all are doing a good job keep it up i watch all y'all videos
My good friend is a corn grower and he agrees that the worst problem with corn yield is the high tempertures during tasseling not so much the daytime temps but also the high time night temperatures
95 + during the day and 80+ during the night. It's like cattle or hogs it takes after they get hot during the day another 4 or 5 hours after the sun goes down to really cool down. High night time temps are thought to be really critical for pollination health for corn
I enjoy the videos the way they are. You always do a great job!!
Awesome Video and Much Love as Always!!!
I would be up for whatever is going to be less stressful for yall. Gonna have growing pains as it is without Zach. I'd be up for frequent somewhat up to date content if its easier for you! My .02 cents.
Nathan Baker of Border View Farms shoots and edits most of his videos on his iPhone. Quality is fine and he puts out daily videos 20+ min long, no Sundays usually. 220 corn must have brought a smile to your face. Thanks for filming some Nate, we look forward to seeing more of you. Thank you Kelly for showing the Aflatoxin testing. Coffee bean grinder? And you don't have to tell us you're hot we already know that!😅
Hello from northern Wyoming, I say let the videos roll.
Hey brother just put that video phone camera whatever you got up in that cab with you and push record live is the best man I just enjoy watching you farm
Unfortunately our data service is not good enough do do a decent live video out in the field. I’ve tried before but it keeps dropping in and out. Very frustrating
In 2012 we shelled a106 acres didn't get 3200 bushel, we started at 730 quit at 930 that night wanted 2 batches for out top dry said the heck with it, missed a combine meeting, was unloading the combine for boredom
Quantity over quality! We love the updates!
Keep making them videos and we will be patient 🇺🇸✝️🙏🏼💙🌾🌧🚜
Great video good to see y'all
Test weight of your grain is critical to combine loss in any grain or beans those lighter kernals will usally blow out the back of a combine. Alot of people don't realize how critical test weight is.
cool...4k....
I spend so much time evacuating and recharging air conditioners during harvest. I’m the local air conditioning whisperer, can get it down to 34 degrees.
That's a wide range on yields, just shows you what a little bit of moisture will do.
Put out the videos, harvest is best time of year ,with combines and all.
Whatever’s easier I like more videos but I like your quality of videos too.
Please do the best you can. No judgment here.
Get your chop in. We can. Wait or do without if you get too busy
Less videos during harvest, more down time in the recliner. And watching movies with your amazing wife….just my 1.5 cents…
You still haven’t picked a movie to watch and I asked you 3 days ago!
Stay safe.
Hey you can also use a black light when you grind the corn put under the black light and it will glow
A old disc harrow blade works good welded to a chain to hang in the top of the bin to spread evenly.
Kelly/Matt here in south central Kansas are best dry land corn was 70 bushels per acre. No rain and 100 degrees days on end.
Hope it gets better for yall. Averaged 33bu here in eastern nc. Terrible!!
You need to check your yield monitor, the USDA says the corn is gonna yield 172 BPA. LOL
I sure haven’t seen the USDA walking my fields.
When I die, I want the USDA to be my pallbearers so that they can let me down one last time. Lol
now its time too fix ac before kelly quit!
keep making these great video.
hope for better yeilds for you.
its dry all over.
i think usda is off on there estimate
Just record as normal , it is ok if you get behind on videos. That just means more content for later.
Whatever works for you guy’s… As long as we get to see each crop harvested that’s what matter’s. Either way is good for us, we will be here waiting!!! Btw any chance your going to have enough corn to cover your contracts for it?
Shorter videos, more often. Notch down the quality would be ok, just think of it as making a TV show in the early 60's; Grainy and jumpy but in color instead of black and white. We will appreciate what you are able to give us.
Had a friend that took a cup of Martha White corn 🌽 meal to the local elevator and tested it for alpha toxins and sure enough it tested positive. That is human food grade prouduct.
Matt , Kelly sure has stepped up to the plate , you are a lucky man , suggestion only , would it be wise to pull your son out of school to help the family out so the Griggs family does not get stressed out , only a thought , team work , farmers must do what it takes to get the job done , best of luck , stay strong , stay safe ??
School always comes first
Suds sports wash will get rid of the sour smell. Any sports wash should work.
Harvest an family comes first, whatever you feel comfortable sharing videos is fine by me, your guys videos are good, thanks for sharing, God is good, Jesus lives💪🇺🇲👍🌽 look forward to seeing the next video
Y'all's videos are excellent an very informative, subscribe to this Channel people, there putting hard work into videos for us, let's do this, thumbs up,
You do what you can we enjoy your videos. Seat belt please
I thought you was no till ! Why you plowing with the combine ?
I have an idea about your shirts I work in a boiler house and I wash my work clothes in Lysol laundry sanitizer, purple oxyclean, and regular detergent it seems to kill the odor carryover
Will the show American Farmers be coming back soon for season 2 ?
Not to our knowledge. We filmed the first episode of Season 2 but the show was never renewed.
We heard rumors the show was being shopped around before COVID but I think COVID put and end to it all.
You’ll just have to suffer with our amateur editing on UA-cam. 😂
seat belts ?
2 videos a week but 10 min long be plenty at harvest just hit the high spots
Your job as a farmer is hard enough. Do the video's in a manner that is easy on you. I have farmed before and did not video. That was hard enough then. You be comfortable Brother.
Yall can blame Zach for anything that goes wrong, Hes not there anymore LOL
Matt, farming first youtube second.. your farm will last way way longer than a youtube production. Matt have n adult beverage during mother natures interruption. Kelly you also.
My personal preference. take your time, put out good quality content to maximize your monetization. Gives us something to watch when the weather gets cold and there's no farming videos left.
Then I have folks complaining I’m too far behind. 😂
Since when do you have to test the corn for aflatoxin? I first heard of aflatoxin years ago when it was found in dog food from China. I just looked it up and why aren’t we checking just about everything?
Aflatoxin can happen in hot dry weather. Haven’t had that type of weather in 10 years
I rather you do higher quality videos than short ones and lower quality
Raw video footage is fine with me. People can always mute or move ahead if they dont like it. Try a real simple (2 hr) edit job and see how it goes. Is the alphatoxin particularly prevalent to your geographical area? Dont see many other you tubers testing for it. I hope your hired hand gave you lots of notice before he left. Thanks for your effort on all this for us.
Just getem out
Is this corn that was Had cover crop on it.
Yes. All my ground did
Better quality over quantity for sure!
Seatbelt
Nobody wants to hear about the labor pains. Just want to see the baby .
