Hello Sadhguru . I was watching on you tube about fasting with Dr Jason Fung and Dr Pradip Jamnadas. I was motivated to do it . Normally if I don’t eat I passed out. But no I was wrong. Firstly I started with twice a day meal then one meal a day then 48 hrs then 3 days fasting recently. I felt amazing. I thought I couldn’t do it but I did. Self control and self discipline is the essence. I decided to do it for my own health sake as I have cancer. And everyday I listen to Sadhguru . He keeps me going in life . Thank you.
Yes, I did 24 hr fast for every day , meaning - eat only after 24hrs , no meals or snacks or juices in between 0 to 24th hr . I did this for 20- 30 days , my exp is : I could think clearly , calm, relaxed, speech and clarity of opinion or statement made in meetings was articulate.

It takes energy to digest food and some would say that this is wasting our energy. Foods that are easy to digest and support the body heal, the rest do damage and are hard on the body and bring toxins. Higher intelligence says we would live much longer if we didn't waste our body's energy on digestion.
Currently on a 3 day water fast , day 2 & I feel light on my feet. I’m in a euphoric state.,spiritual bliss. It seemed like the moment I went on this fast I was on the outside looking in. Becoming more conscious of my actions,habits, & words. I feel like I’m being applauded by the universe, I feel aligned & unbothered, I feel whole & completely connected.

Fasting is life. I have healed my skin, omitted high blood pressure, and removed inflammation from my wrist and lower back simply from fasting. I dry fast mostly and sometimes water fast.

Fssting is taught in the Bible thousands of years along with the commandment to keep the Saturday sabbath. These two are very beneficial for the spirit, soul and health. God is real and loves you so he gives us instructions to live good lives.
I do omad . I also do 3/4 day fasting a mount . Since i do it, no more diabetic 2 , no more cholesterol and high pressure , lost my over weight , no more back problems and all sorted of body pains and joints pains and no more sleep problems also and I'm feeling younger with more energy.....and I'm over 50
Thank you for sharing this. I am trying to get my A1c from 5.9 back to 5.3. Do not want to be a diabetic. I have started to do 3 days fasts and eat low carb. But I will try doing OMED I have heard alot about just eating 1 meal a day. Please if you get this I would like to know low long it took to reduce your A1C. Thank you.

I have fasted for 30 days off/On. On nothing but water and coffee and minerals taken since december of 2019!! I tipped the scale at 400lbs!! Now in may of 2022 I am at 245 lbs!! It's been a long and dwindling road, it hasn't been easy but i cannot say that it cannot be done!! I just entered on the 8th of may 2022 my fasting state again and I'm going for 40 days on my 11th day of pure fasting as I'm writting this today, and going for the final weight loss goal this year!! @@achyutam6518 Calories mean nothing... You can eat whatever you want just make sure it's good for you. If your one meal a day is a slice of pizza okay... So be it. If it's a chicken salad okay. That's fine. Just make sure there's at least 3 Protein (meat, fish, Chicken) Vegetable Grain When I was intermittent fasting I'd eat everyday at exactly 6:00-6:30pm. I'd eat anything I wanted and still lost weight. As long as it's under like 1500cal which is a lot for one meal. I didn't lift weights at the gym because it's kinda useless as you aren't getting a lot of protein. I just ran 3 miles every other day of the week at the gym. I lost 30lbs in 2 months and didn't suffer one bit. Drinking a gallon of water a day is very important. Adding a small pinch of salt to it every morning.
Just last week I have completed 5 day water fast. First 2-3 days is hard 4 th day I have Experience a burst of energy! So amazing. Breaking the fast with green smoothie green apples lemon cucumber ginger, it tastes so wonderful especially after 5 days of water only.
Sadhguru introduced me to the idea of fasting, then of course medical science is backing it up... like much of his other wisdom. we are blessed to be alive during his time.
Love listening to this man each time :) I just did a 5 day water fast, now I am going on watermelon only for a few days and then other fruits :) and then slowly introduce other vegan foods 🤍🤍

You definitely have to get your mind right before fasting. I’ve done a 30 day water fast. And have never been able to repeat this. 2 days max and I tell myself I’m starving. I will get back to the longer fast I know it. But for those proceeding on this journey, may it bring you mental clarity, spiritual healing, and physical strength! 🙏🏽🙏🏽

i have been intermittent fasting going on 5 years now i fast 23 hours a day everyday drink green tea and water all day and eat one meal in the evening. never felt better!!
I struggled with depression and anxiety for about 7 years. In July in I did a 3 day fast, cut out sugar and began intermittent fasting (20-4) and I have never felt better. Depression and anxiety are gone. I hope you are sticking to it and experiencing similar results. All the best on your journey!!
I’m on the 27th day of OMAD. I don’t lose weight but my hip size decreased from 38 to 30 inches. 🤣 I’ve got clearer vision, smoother skin, sleep apnea stopped, and energetic while approaching the 24th hour mark of fasting. I’ll keep my OMAD journey for as long as I feel good inside out.
Currently doing my first prolonged fast. My goal is hopefully to be a better person spiritually and in my heart. I am nearing 48 hours. I have no idea how long I am going to do it for but I guess until I feel... Like it's time.

@@rjclue2630 I meditate on the self everyday. During daily activities I try to keep in the back of the mind the feeling I AM. Act from the heart instead of the head. Also in order to keep the intensity and focus I want to implement some changes to my diet such as start doing OMAD combined with dry fasting. BTW Thank you for the useful insight. I have to look up those other types of yoga you've mentioned.
@@rjclue2630 The problem with me is that my body-mind lives in this constant fight or flight mode. That keeps me off balance. That's why I'm into this dieting thing. Hopefully that will bring me more focus in my daily activities and devotion to the self.
@@pranavsoni5545 if you feel a urge to eat, eat a fruit. It's impractical to start acing fasting from the word go. It will take time, maybe a couple of decent attempts and then you would start being on fast for a whole day. But till then don't be harsh on your body, go slow, go with fruits.
I have been having one meal a day from last one month, results are amazing and improving my health conditions. Once in a week, I am completely on Fruit diet and that's helping me more. I am much more energetic with loads of stamina and helping me remain active and alert. Request everyone to start more with fruits on empty stomach and slowly go on increasing the fruit content by skipping your breakfast then evening meal. But do this gradually as our body is not so habitual. Then as per your body's capacity go on increasing the intermittent fasting which is minimum 8 hours gap between meals. You may go up to 18 hours gradually and steadily. Keep on experimenting as per your body's need. As Sadhguru said that Hunger will reduce your energy and Empty stomach will keep you active and alert. We must be able to identify this nature of our body. Avoid any drastic change. All the best.👍

I try and fast between meals at least 16 hours, avoid sugary foods these days and my weight went from 88kg to around 82kg quite quickly, I don't get as hungry as much either, I'm 61 but am now back to my weight when I was 26, trouser size 32" from 34".
Learning to get energy from the air, the sun and the water makes overcoming the compulsions of eating a completely natural process. Without that, fasting is about suppression, discipline and self-imposed suffering.
I am doing this in the last 3 years one meal a day or sometimes only water and eating when body demands food. No junk food or fizzy drinks. I lost weight during that time and now keeping the same weight but loosing fat. I had health issues before high blood pressure, digestive problems but all gone now.
The thing about Sadhguru is he's pleasant to listen to. It takes time to learn and he pauses and iterates examples in a way that helps us to learn and remember.

8 days nothing but water? dude, its harmful. did sadguru advice to fast for so long? beware there are chances of liver damage if you avoid solid food for such long time.
Why do foreign people have to take everything on an extreme level. Are you guys impatient or your always looking out of extreme highs in your life. Fasting is not obsessive. It should be done consciously, with sense of subtleness. Not forcefully or impulsively. Please understand everything Sadhguru says with reasoning, dont take anything literally. 🙏🙂 Stay healthy.
This is exactly why i went on a high carb, low-fat fruit diet. I feel better both physically and mentally now in my 30s then i ever did in my 20s. I used to have to use drugs to be able to feel normal and not im on zero medications food has replaced the drugs and yoga has replaced many years of therapy that never fully worked for me. It gave me much insight into who i am, but it never made the ptsd lesson, whereas yoga has completely transformed my mind, body, and spirit.
This video give me inspiration to get back to my roots, I used to observe the ekadashi, doing a 24h fast. But this practice get lost by the past years. Thanks for bringing this ancient information up. Thanks 🙏

I've been fasting for 4 days now. Just drinking orange juice, tea and water. I'm feeling good. My goal is 5 days. Afterwards I'm going to do it 2 weeks
I have started doing this several years back and I have lost about sixty pounds of body weight. I am feeling good and able to maintain it all these years. Back then I didn’t know anything about fasting all I wanted was to loose weight later I found out what I was doing was fasting.
I'm starting to offer every Fridays to Maha Lakshmi doing fasting. I did some ekadashi in the past, but this is a bit more hard-core. It's nice in my opinion to express her my gratitude and love trough this practice

I do take Ekadashi fasting.. Monthly twice.. -Wake up and drink one glass water -After fresh up.. Drink a cup of lemon tea without suger -Drink a glass of water every 45 minutes -Drink a glass of water and two dates at 6 pm -Eat a banana at 8 pm -Go for sleep at 9 pm
I fast 24 hours every day, in most cases I eat once every 24-36 hours, and lately been doing back to back 48 hour fasts, so eating every 48 hour fast, I am still going to the gym everyday feeling great and full of energy everyday.
Awesome. I did a 36 hours fast. The body and mind becomes active the next day but tired and yawning when fasting. Cravings will come but they fade away as well. I hope I can manage a 2 days fast soon.
I fast for a minimum of 12hrs to 18hrs 5 days a week, I start the day with lemon, lime and apple cider. I am 75 eat healthy do not smoke or drink and take no medication..

I am doing 19/20 hours fasting , with electrolytes, since 2 months. My energy enhanced as if I am on steroids. My dermatitis, which I was suffering since years, reduced by 95% WITHOUT any medicines. Needless to mention I lost 5 kilos in 6 weeks.
I’m currently on day 8 this year of my fast of solids. I have some coffee and honey ( I wish to stop) and the rest is just distilled water. I hope I can go long enough that it fixes my low libido. My wife naggs me more than I can handle. So I hope this fast can not only fix that but rewire my biochemistry new again. I originally planned a week but as of now I feel strong and maybe am considering 30 to 40 days. I just can’t be 100% on the time I wanna do.
Points -never drink liquids with food as it dilates the acid necessary to digest -conscious eating should be encouraged ie eating only when I really want to -once or twice a month go on really light diet or if you can just water, lemon water or honey water or fruits only
I'm 23 years old. I noticed when I start eating ''Natural foods and lower the carb'' and do 18 hour fast , I get a more stable mood aswell as my craving and sexual impulses become weaker which helps me with my Nofap journey . Very good. I’m 22 and on my 3rd dae of a liquid fast. Upon getting up I go out for jogs as well to tire out my body and then take a 5 minute cold shower. I’m refreshed and more focused. Our guts are lying to us, only wanting to consume what it’s used to but not what it actually needs.
I have fasted for more than 40 years, almost my entire life and I can tell you that I perform every one of my physical tasks, as well as I did as a young teen. I don’t base my life around fool, and that is not to say that I don’t like good tasting food but I eat nutrient dense food and I use a couple of supplements that I just personally like and there you have it

Unlike most of our body functions, ingestion should be voluntary, but we have made the ingestion process compulsive. 4. Simply denying food and water can cause damage to the system, we must follow certain practices to support fasting. 5. Our body’s energy doesn’t only come from food, it comes from air, sunlight, and water. 6. In yogic science, 60-70 percent of energy should come from sunlight, air, and water if we want to keep our body well. 7. If you drink any liquid along with your food, the acids that are necessary for the digestive process will get diluted. 8. In the yogic culture, food shouldn’t stay in the stomach for more than 2.5 hours, it must go into other parts. 9. In a month, one or two times we must go on lighter food, maybe water, lemon, or a little bit of honey-laced water. We can also do fruit fasting. 10. The whole idea is to give the digestive process a break so that the other parts of the body can function well and excrete.

Just last week I have completed 5 day water fast. First 2-3 days is hard 4 th day I have Experience a burst of energy! So amazing. Breaking the fast with green smoothie green apples lemon cucumber ginger, it tastes so wonderful especially after 5 days of water only.

@@richardlawson6787 if you believe in the benefits of fasting, you should at least extend your learning to the fullness of it. if you have something to heal within your body, you absolutely must go longer than 3 days.
try cutting out added sugar before the fast. i do this for 2 weeks and the fast is effortless with an absence of cravings.
If you do a 2 day fast each week you can fast 30 days in about 7 months . It may not be the same effect but it is still a good habit.

I struggled with depression and anxiety for about 7 years. In July in I did a 3 day fast, cut out sugar and began intermittent fasting (20-4) and I have never felt better. Depression and anxiety are gone. I hope you are sticking to it and experiencing similar results. All the best on your journey!!

I’m on the 27th day of OMAD. I don’t lose weight but my hip size decreased from 38 to 30 inches. 🤣 I’ve got clearer vision, smoother skin, sleep apnea stopped, and energetic while approaching the 24th hour mark of fasting. I’ll keep my OMAD journey for as long as I feel good inside out.

Currently doing my first prolonged fast. My goal is hopefully to be a better person spiritually and in my heart. I am nearing 48 hours. I have no idea how long I am going to do it for but I guess until I feel... Like it's time.
Last one year onwards I am fasting on ekadashi and I eat only twice a day 10am and 6pm around...I feel very light... initially it was tough. But now I find very good eating twice..everyone who can handle it give a try ...

Just started a juice fast January 1st, praying for purification and significant health changes.
Any fool can fast but only a wise man knows the way to break it. If you don't know to break the fast then your 1st elimination will be very painful.

@@rjclue2630 I meditate on the self everyday. During daily activities I try to keep in the back of the mind the feeling I AM. Act from the heart instead of the head. Also in order to keep the intensity and focus I want to implement some changes to my diet such as start doing OMAD combined with dry fasting. BTW Thank you for the useful insight. I have to look up those other types of yoga you've mentioned.

It's impractical to start acing fasting from the word go. It will take time, maybe a couple of decent attempts and then you would start being on fast for a whole day. But till then don't be harsh on your body, go slow, go with fruits.
I have been having one meal a day from last one month, results are amazing and improving my health conditions. Once in a week, I am completely on Fruit diet and that's helping me more. I am much more energetic with loads of stamina and helping me remain active and alert. Request everyone to start more with fruits on empty stomach and slowly go on increasing the fruit content by skipping your breakfast then evening meal. But do this gradually as our body is not so habitual. Then as per your body's capacity go on increasing the intermittent fasting which is minimum 8 hours gap between meals. You may go up to 18 hours gradually and steadily. Keep on experimenting as per your body's need. As Sadhguru said that Hunger will reduce your energy and Empty stomach will keep you active and alert. We must be able to identify this nature of our body. Avoid any drastic change. All the best.👍

I try and fast between meals at least 16 hours, avoid sugary foods these days and my weight went from 88kg to around 82kg quite quickly, I don't get as hungry as much either, I'm 61 but am now back to my weight when I was 26, trouser size 32" from 34".
Learning to get energy from the air, the sun and the water makes overcoming the compulsions of eating a completely natural process. Without that, fasting is about suppression, discipline and self-imposed suffering.

I am doing this in the last 3 years one meal a day or sometimes only water and eating when body demands food. No junk food or fizzy drinks. I lost weight during that time and now keeping the same weight but loosing fat. I had health issues before high blood pressure, digestive problems but all gone now.

I fasted for 8 days just strictly water and it was so amazing. I'm doing a 10 day water fast before the end of the month. The benefits are wonderful.

Currently doing 24 hr fasting cycles, i feel great. I eat a lot after my 24 hr cycles.
This is exactly why i went on a high carb, low-fat fruit diet. I feel better both physically and mentally now in my 30s then i ever did in my 20s. I used to have to use drugs to be able to feel normal and not im on zero medications food has replaced the drugs and yoga has replaced many years of therapy that never fully worked for me. It gave me much insight into who i am, but it never made the ptsd lesson, whereas yoga has completely transformed my mind, body, and spirit.

I have started doing this several years back and I have lost about sixty pounds of body weight. I am feeling good and able to maintain it all these years. Back then I didn’t know anything about fasting all I wanted was to loose weight later I found out what I was doing was fasting.
I'm starting to offer every Fridays to Maha Lakshmi doing fasting. I did some ekadashi in the past, but this is a bit more hard-core. It's nice in my opinion to express her my gratitude and love trough this practice
Fasting with fruits vegetables and herbs is one of the most beneficial things u can do...my son's grandmother criticized and tried to talk me out of fasting because I was losing weight and detoxing...and this lady is a so called christian who goes to church every Sunday lol most people are so spiritually blind nowadays they don't know how to fast

-Wake up and drink one glass water
-After fresh up.. Drink a cup of lemon tea without suger
-Drink a glass of water every 45 minutes
-Drink a glass of water and two dates at 6 pm
-Eat a banana at 8 pm
-Go for sleep at 9 pm

I fast 24 hours every day, in most cases I eat once every 24-36 hours, and lately been doing back to back 48 hour fasts, so eating every 48 hour fast, I am still going to the gym everyday feeling great and full of energy everyday.

Awesome. I did a 36 hours fast. The body and mind becomes active the next day but tired and yawning when fasting. Cravings will come but they fade away as well. I hope I can manage a 2 days fast soon.

I’m currently on day 8 this year of my fast of solids. I have some coffee and honey ( I wish to stop) and the rest is just distilled water. I hope I can go long enough that it fixes my low libido. My wife naggs me more than I can handle. So I hope this fast can not only fix that but rewire my biochemistry new again. I noticed when I start eating ''Natural foods and lower the carb'' and do 18 hour fast , I get a more stable mood aswell as my craving and sexual impulses become weaker which helps me with my Nofap journey . I still have wet dreams. also my focus is improved alot after 2-3 days of 18 hour fast and eating healthy i notice that.
Very good. I’m 22 and on my 3rd dae of a liquid fast. Upon getting up I go out for jogs as well to tire out my body and then take a 5 minute cold shower. I’m refreshed and more focused. Our guts are lying to us, only wanting to consume what it’s used to but not what it actually needs.

I have fasted for more than 40 years, almost my entire life and I can tell you that I perform every one of my physical tasks, as well as I did as a young teen. I don’t base my life around fool, and that is not to say that I don’t like good tasting food but I eat nutrient dense food and I use a couple of supplements that I just personally like and there you have it

Summary of the video -
1. Four processes - Ingestion, digestion, assimilation, and excretion.
2. Ingestion is continuously happening but digestion and excretion are not as efficient as ingestion.
3. Unlike most of our body functions, ingestion should be voluntary, but we have made the ingestion process compulsive.
4. Simply denying food and water can cause damage to the system, we must follow certain practices to support fasting.
5. Our body’s energy doesn’t only come from food, it comes from air, sunlight, and water.
6. In yogic science, 60-70 percent of energy should come from sunlight, air, and water if we want to keep our body well.
7. If you drink any liquid along with your food, the acids that are necessary for the digestive process will get diluted.
8. In the yogic culture, food shouldn’t stay in the stomach for more than 2.5 hours, it must go into other parts.
9. In a month, one or two times we must go on lighter food, maybe water, lemon, or a little bit of honey-laced water. We can also do fruit fasting.
10. The whole idea is to give the digestive process a break so that the other parts of the body can function well and excrete.
I'm gonna try this year fasting once in every 2 weeks
