I own 4 Christopher wards as well as a 4 high end other brands, Rolex, omega,Tudor and BRIETLING, the C Ward bracelets are easily on par with them, so comfortable plenty of adjustments and a fraction of the price, excellent value for money
Clasp difference aside, which looks lovely, haven't Steinhart provided bracelets with a single screw link attachment all the way through for a while? I have a Omega PO chrono which has a screw either side of the links and a Ocean one with single screw links which are much easier to add or remove links
Be honest I think this is my next watch, but think I’ll go with a strap not bracelet sister says go for the seamaster but I really can’t justify the £ 5000 price tag to stick in a draw and not wear it 🤔 been looking at mido tissot and certina all great looking watches
It would be great if CW offered the option of a solid or exhibition case back, as the trident spear looks cool. Surely that would be easy enough to do?
Hearing a company say that less metal means less cost when they can charge more is incredibly respectable and now I will make a point to purchase a Christopher Ward! They’ve been on my radar but I’ve been back and forth on whether or not to buy one but because of that statement I’m definitely going to get one.
I remember being very critical of the old 600 meter version and I made a number of suggestion about how I would change it. You’ve done them all Christopher Ward 👌🏼this looks awesome 👍🏼
No one is diving with ANY of these watches, or with Omega, or with Rolex. They are all desk divers, so THANK YOU CW for making this model slimmer and lighter because that loss of 300m is meaningless. The closest that 99.99% of these watches get to water is the swimming pool at the beach resort.
This will be my next watch. I will most definitely be supporting this brand with my wallet. Mike sounds like such a genuine and humble guy. I appreciate how he acknowledges that expenses are going up for everyone and his philosophy is to still make something of total quality and refinement without insane mark ups. Mike seems to really just want people to enjoy and wear their watches, so naturally he wants to make them accessible. Real watch by a real brand lead by a real CEO has me excited to be a real customer.
Hey Eddie. I have interviewed Mike a number of times on the channel. Every time he is the same, passionate about watches and the people that buy Christopher Ward.
@@CasualWatchReviews thanks for your reply. I need to go back and watch them. I think the toughest decision about this new Trident pro is not whether or not to get one, but whether to go for the white or green dial! Decisions decisions….
Amazing! I just wish there were less numbers on the bezel like previous Tridents. A home run, I had a chance to ask Mike France some questions on a call and he is so nice and thoughtful!
CW is doing all the right things - LISTEN TO YOUR CUSTOMERS (the smart ones 😊) I just bought a c60 trident 300 (38mm) and I plan on becoming a repeat customer if CW continues on the path they are.
Crazy that the little details are nailed by a microbran where the big guys get it wrong consistently and for a insane premium. Who wants a 3 o clock date? Mis matched date window color? Cyclops? Sizing? Etc? Well done Christopher ward.
Hi, thanks for watching. CW are not actually a microbrand, they produce more watches per year than Richard Mille. They are producing watches with that quality and attention to detail at a larger scale.
Great interview and video Sam. I though that five CW's in my collection was enough for now, but.....they keep smashing it. One might have to make way, but which one is going to be a struggle, as they all have something a bit special about them.
Love it but I will miss the closed case back with the Trident logo. Also 600m was bragging rights even if my watch never does more than snorkel. The move to a 6 date is much appreciated for that perfect balance look. I can see me buying that white dial.
Thank you for the interview with Mike. I’m very satisfied with the changed design language of Christopher Ward since Aquitaine; Removal of the lettering, symmetric composition of twin flags in 12h, and date window in 6h position.
Apparently the clear case back was in direct response from their forum. I actually liked it a lot. Most of their sealander and the Aquitaine has a clear case back, its in keeping with that direction.
I would love for them to offer a 12 hour bezel option. Personally for someone who doesn't need a gmt function most of the time, a 12 hour bezel works well enough as a gmt for the occasional holiday without adding extra cost, complication and thickness. It also works well enough to still time things as long as there is a triangle at the 12.
Almost perfect. I think the crown guards are too small and the clasp is way too big for my liking. Also, the dive bezel should be wider and have fewer numerals, like the previous version. Other than that, a great looking watch!
Hmm. I think in everyday use an easy to unscrew crown is going to have much more utility than an overguarded one. I’d agree regarding the clasp, though. That could be a bit sleeker.
Smashed it out of the park again. Only missed opportunities are perhaps a quartz option, and maybe only me......but a few twin flags engraved onto the rehault. Result :)
I've recently got my c60 (I got the white dial, black bezel on the bader bracelet) - I have to say they are worthy of the praise they've been receiving. These are very good quality watches. I own a TAG, an Omega, and an Oris Aquis - the CW is very happy in that company and feels every bit as reassuringly expensive.
They made all these changes to the bracelet, and yet they miss one of the biggest trends, female endlinks. It would be nice to see more colour variations. I'd like to see Lucerne Blue on this C60, and if they were adventurous they'd do an orange or cream or champagne dial. I don't think they'll do a full lume dial. A full stainless steel bezel would also look good too.
Hey! Cheers for watching. I must admit, I’m totally confused by what you mean by Female end links? These end links are the exact same (or similar) to every Christopher Ward watch I have seen… or fact the vast majority of watches I have reviewed or owned? These are fitted end links?
@@CasualWatchReviews Right now the trend for watch bracelets is moving towards "female endlinks". A female endlink is where the center of the endlink can articulate. Having an articulating center part of the endlink, it allows for it lay on the wrist better and not add to the lug-to-lug size by protruding. You can see it visually in this video by Marc from Long Island Watch, and he also explains it too- ua-cam.com/video/qIBKt72Uu0I/v-deo.html

No human has ever dived to even 400m. Most recreational divers don't go below 30m. Apple's new watch, made partly as a dive computer has a 100m water resistance. Your completely wrong on this I have to say... but, feel free to clip this video and make your own upload if you feel your right. See what the audience for this watch thinks, because as Mike said, a lot of the improvements were made in direct response to some of Christopher Wards biggest fan's suggestions. Like the caseback for example. This will be a massive hit for them, I'm confident the upgrades they made will speak for themselves in terms of sales. You need to see it in person the photos online don't do it justice.
@@CasualWatchReviews As to water resistance it refers to water pressure resistance in static. Each your movement increases the pressure. for instance you can get 10-15 bar water pressure (which is 100-150 meters) on a snorkeling deep. It all depends on what you're gonna do in/under water. It's always better to have some reserve even if you're not gonna use a tool (for example a watch) on the borderline of its limit. I personally can't see any improvements but the dial's design. Maybe (theoretically) the finish is slightly better. But the finish of Pro 600 is great as well. At least if we're talking about (Mk 3 version).
300m is more than you would ever need, there is absolutely no argument or evidence I have ever heard (or seen) to counter that. We pressure tested watches on the channel before. It's a significant upgrade, I have had both watches in hand as you saw in the video. I don't get paid by CW or even get free watches from them, I'm a true fan. I was blown away by how much better this watch was, I have handled not only multiple CWs but countless other brands on the channel.
I'm looking to buy one these, at the moment they are pre order for April del. The taper bracelet is an improvement, I don't know why it's not more popular. I have a Davosa Ternos, Ceramic which is nice watch, but the bracelet bugs me because there is not enough taper. For me, they only way I would improve on this would be to make the logo smaller and a tad higher up the dial and also have an option to not have red on the second hand and dial. Really looking forward to seeing one in the flesh. Good review, really enjoyed it.
This moved the C60 Trident Pro design towards the C60 #Tide. The #Tide is my favourite current CW and it's good to see that reflected in the Trident Pro Mk 3.1. (Sorry that should be the C60 Trident Pro Mk 3 Update). I hope you like it, Sam.
It's such a beautiful watch and has and unbelievable value for money. The only thing that has pulled me back is that i would like to see round indices, that would make it beyond perfect
Thanks for the video, really enjoyed the interview - I can really see the passion on watches in both of you and it made me smile throughout. I definitely will consider a CW watch(Just clueless on size to get!)
I like the new logo and deciding which colour/combo to buy. When I say your old one in Vlog I became a little nostalgic for old logo! Why do we do that ! 😂
You should've ask Mike: 1. How they try to counter the G-Shock Full Metal B2100 2. What's up with their marketing graphic designers, logo looks like a Pharmacy or a Drug store 3. Can we simplify it? The backplate is a waste of resources Stuff like this... 👍
I think this company is really going places! Beautiful watches, quality throughout, and listening to customers! This specific watch is lovely and practical. Check out the website and the superb range of luxury watches at very affordable prices.
Thanks Chris and sorry things didn't work out with TRIBUS watches. Are you going to relaunch the brand? You are always welcome on my channel to discuss the journey you had with Christopher Ward and any new ventures you have. I can be contacted via thecasualwatchreviewer@gmail.com
I really enjoyed this interview. I've been thinking about possibly the the black 38mm Pro 300 but wish that bezel was either brushed stainless steel with black infilled numerals or the black insert was matte. But hey.....even if there is a tiny chance a black dial 38mm version be made in bronze...then I'm all over that!! Me want that bad.
I’m going to buy one of these watches. I like the idea that there is an English Swiss combination. A long time go now but Rolex was started in a similar vain. I have a small collection of vintage Rolex watches and one of my favourite aspects is the cyclops above the day. I think this would enhance the CW brand, however, I concede that in 2022 it’s no longer considered fashionable.
Been tempted with one of these since it's launch. Especially the 40mm version seems to have perfect dimensions. It's only the clasp, that's holding me back. It looks extremely long and out of proportion against the case size.
Love the green colour. I ordered a black one with both a bracelet and a black/red hybrid strap. The red on the hybrid strap picks up the lettering on the watch face and second hand nicely. I might have got a green one instead if they offered a hunter green/orange hybrid strap, but oddly enough this one doesn't exist. There is the green/orange canvas one offered with the green dial Sealander GMT, but for me the hybrid strap pairs better (aesthetically and functionally) with a dive watch.
I just really wish I lived closer to the Christopher Ward showroom. The releases this year have been such that I have no idea whether I should get this, the Aquitane or the Sealander Elite.
Hi there, great video and interview, really liking this model, but was just wondering how much longer the new clasp is compared to the Sealander ?.Mike stated it offers 2mm of adjustment.
Love the look of this watch, especially the green. I was saving for the Sealander C63 GMT, but this may’ve just skipped the queue. Any chance we’ll see a GMT version of this?
I don't know about the rubber strap on the CW watches, but the bracelet is the best steel strap at this price point...… the finishing and polishing of the case and bracelet are really close to the major-entry luxury brands (maybe even better?....I believe )
Well done in getting rid of the logo with the name , the new logo is so much better. The name can go on the case back . I’ve been saying it for years , finally somebody “ saw the light “….This looks like pretty good quality/ value; although personally I prefer the look of round hour markers on dive watches . The thin case is nice and so is the improved bracelet. Personally , I think a 16.5 mm taper is a bit too much I would have kept it at around 18 mm. The main down side here s the weight . 152 g on a bracelet is just too heavy for me for every day wear , I think a comfortable watch is the weight of the 90’ s Rolex Submariners so about 15g to 20 g less. Many people equate heft with quality but you need comfort on wrist for everyday wear . 152 g is too heavy for me. Another negative point is that although the watch represents great value , you will end up spending more than the cost of the watch over the years to get it serviced. Thats why I think it’s only worth spending money to service “ luxury” automatic watches ; preferably ones that increase in value over time. Otherwise, it’s just better to get a watch with a nice high torque quartz movement or a solar powered movement in my opinion.
When you see this watch in person every element of the design makes sense. This is the best watch at the $1,000 I have ever reviewed. I actually don't agree with that last statement about the servicing. By that analogy we should just by casio $20 watches with a 10 year battery. This arguably has one of the most ubiquitous movements available in watches, you can get is serviced at most watches ,akers locations... I only service my watches when something stops working or running properly. I don't worry about it other than that. Also there are many vintage seiko watches that have increased a similar percentage in vale to Rolex. How do you pick the one that go up over time without spending many multiples what this watch sells for? Same thing with buying a Car.
Cars and watches are two different things .How do you know what to buy ? You do your research and gain knowledge. For example I would put my money now in a Rolex sports model from the 1990’ s to around 2003. Those are great bang per buck and readily available . You will not lose money on one of those and you will actually probably end up making some money if you decide to sell in a few years. Everybody is free to do what they want with their money ; and if somebody wants to spend $1000 of their hard earned cash on a CW they can go right ahead. I certainly won’t . I would much rather save up a little more , and buy a pre owned Breitling or even Tag Heuer than a CW. In the same price range, as a new watch, I would rather buy a Nomadic Marai over this CW; but that is again what I would do with my hard earned . Everybody’s different . I just would hate looking at my wrist every day and seeing a CW. I personally don’t like the brand . They don’t understand design in my opinion. They are releasing many models but none have original /captivating designs, again in my opinion. They should hire Bamford to help them design ; now there is a Brit who understands design .
I own the Trident Pro 600 in 40mm and while the thickness is technically 13.4mm (based on my measurement) it wears at least 1mm slimmer because the case was so well designed to look slim.
Great watch. Like the size, the date wheel, the case, the logo. I just prefer sunburst dials like super compressor (which I’m actually wearing right now).
Long time CW owner for many models across a decade + including the Speed-Hawk 7750 and C600 Tri-Tech Elite Diver. I prefer the original case back myself and the height never bothered me. They still have very good communication and customer service. My favorite models in their current line-up are the C65 Aquitaine and C65 Super Compressor.
@@CasualWatchReviews ua-cam.com/users/shortsJeJRt3qQfZc?feature=share Some C60 models seem to share this symptom. If there is no such play on the bezel, I plan to purchase it. thank you for the reply
@@CasualWatchReviews Thanks! I mean since it has accuracy of plus minus 20 seconds per day. So even if I wear it everyday for 7-8 hours, it will still lose/gain time in a month. Does it not require adjusting the time every tow or three weeks?

Absolutely not 😂 I don’t need that temptation
I've heard that the C63 Sealander GMT will also get an upgraded bracelet.
Does anybody know if it will be the same bracelet as seen in this video?
It's such a beautiful watch and has and unbelievable value for money. The only thing that has pulled me back is that i would like to see round indices, that would make it beyond perfect
Does anyone know what size of screwdriver do you need for the screws on the bracelet?
Is it a 1.6mm?
I have one of the older models with the orange bezel and the ETA 2824. Been a solid watch a served me well.
You should've ask Mike:
1. How they try to counter the G-Shock Full Metal B2100
2. What's up with their marketing graphic designers, logo looks like a Pharmacy or a Drug store
3. Can we simplify it? The backplate is a waste of resources
Stuff like this... 👍
I asked exactly the questions I wanted to ask.
Hey Mark! I just bought a DateJust and love the cyclops!
Been tempted with one of these since it's launch. Especially the 40mm version seems to have perfect dimensions. It's only the clasp, that's holding me back. It looks extremely long and out of proportion against the case size.
The clasp is one of the highlights, the CW ones are so well designed I wouldn’t worry for a second about it.
I love Christopher Ward. The new 36mm sealander is stunning. Their back catalog is great however, I’m not the biggest fan of this watches aesthetic.
I’m only a fan of the newer stuff I have to admit. Maybe the last 4 years or so from the start of the retro dive days
Thanks for commenting and watching Bruce. I was really drawn to the green but the black looks great also.
I just really wish I lived closer to the Christopher Ward showroom. The releases this year have been such that I have no idea whether I should get this, the Aquitane or the Sealander Elite.
@Dell Wright faff 🙂
Plus I'd probably end up keeping all three 😆
Hi there, great video and interview, really liking this model, but was just wondering how much longer the new clasp is compared to the Sealander ?.Mike stated it offers 2mm of adjustment.
Hi Mark, the clasp is great it offers actually 2mm of additional adjustment over the previous one. Sorry if that was not clear.
Awesome! These look fantastic and offer so much. CW keep striving forward
Love the look of this watch, especially the green. I was saving for the Sealander C63 GMT, but this may’ve just skipped the queue. Any chance we’ll see a GMT version of this?
I have a feeling they will! That just speculation from me not any hints Mike made!
Wonder when the Aquitaine will get the bracelet upgrade?
I don't know about the rubber strap on the CW watches, but the bracelet is the best steel strap at this price point...… the finishing and polishing of the case and bracelet are really close to the major-entry luxury brands (maybe even better?....I believe )
I totally agree!
Yep totally agree
Ordered the 38mm white dial. Looking forward to it
Great watch. Like the size, the date wheel, the case, the logo.
I just prefer sunburst dials like super compressor (which I’m actually wearing right now).
Fair enough!
Been thinking about CW a lot recently, have you had any of your watches serviced with them and how did that go?
Very cool. My eyes wish the bezel was larger, but it still looks very good. I think the black is my favorite from the images in this video
Hey the previous one them mate? Or you can buy my one 😂
just use Tritium...it's not harmful and better than any super luminova.....
You only ever see tritium tubes these days so there must be a reason it’s not longer used?
I like the blue. Deciding between 40 & 42…
Hi. There was a lateral and back play on the bezel of the c60 model I used before. Is there such a play in the bezel of the pro 300 model?
The bezel was excellent, I had the previous C60 and I didn't experience any backplay at all? There is a review on the channel
@@CasualWatchReviews ua-cam.com/users/shortsJeJRt3qQfZc?feature=share
Some C60 models seem to share this symptom. If there is no such play on the bezel, I plan to purchase it. thank you for the reply
Just purchased it, looks incredible, good open honest interview
This was one of the stand out watches for me this year! Great choice
Thanks so much for a great video what colour would you buy if you were to purchase it what do you think of the green.
I was really taken by this green. I would have gone for the blue. Someone I know has the white and loves it so it’s hard for sure!
@@CasualWatchReviews Thank you for your prompt reply
I hope they add a 38mm in blue.
everything perfect except the slimmer bezel :( the last one was perfect
I reviewed the last one and got loads of ‘suggestions’ around improvements on that one also 😂
@@CasualWatchReviews 🙏 I think it will be a 100% success with the last bezel thickness and numeral lay out.
This fixes everything that I found a little off with there last model. I know what I'm getting for Christmas 👌
I was honestly blown away by how good this watch was… this was the hardest watch I ever had to send back 😂
@@CasualWatchReviews maybe you can send them cash instead of the watch?😂 Just Kidding, buying the new one wouldn't break your bank
The one I had was a prototype so I couldn’t have bought it!
They absolutely nailed it with this one!!
Totally agree
Great video Sam, looks like some really positive upgrades!
Cheers Sunil!
Very nice
Does it have screw down crown?
Yep! Sorry nearly all CWs have screw down crowns so I forget to mention it sometimes!
QVC will be happy.
They are too busy flogging Invictas!
Bloody great watch! All the specs are spot on! Just wished they had a no date model
Has to have the date for me 😂
I know they only do a few watches with no date and I believe only the Dartmouth is currently available to buy.
@@waynesellers4078 yeah wish they’d modernise the Dartmouth. Think they just discontinued it as well, since it’s not in the website anymore
@@gregnatividad8345 that may mean that it is getting an update to twin flags on the dial. They did that with the compressor
How often one needs to adjust the time on this watch?
Hi Naveen, the watch has a 38-hour power reserve. So if its not worn on your wrist or in a watch winder it will go 38-hour before stopping
@@CasualWatchReviews Thanks! I mean since it has accuracy of plus minus 20 seconds per day. So even if I wear it everyday for 7-8 hours, it will still lose/gain time in a month. Does it not require adjusting the time every tow or three weeks?
Oh right, yes thats right, mine was closer to 8 seconds fast.
Great interview 👌🏻
I really enjoy these myself!
Great Video!
Cheers Kevin
Love my CW GMT
Do you have the C60 GMT or the sealander? I love the look of that sealander GMT
@@CasualWatchReviews The Trident Pro
closed case would be even better
Always too over-the-top excitement in the comments😑 Sounds like a Tupperware party. CW are inferior, prone to failure, boring and not a single original detail in sight.
There you are - a negative comment, I dare you not to remove it.
Wait so if I remove it I have won the dare? I mean you’re 100% wrong about CW, you know that but that seems secondary to the challenge you set!
Do I leave this up to win the dare or remove to win the dare… its so confusing… what do you what!
Great video Sam 👏
Thanks Miguel, 😀
