1:33 They didn’t even bother putting respect on Delia’s name.
To be fair, the jokes in these comics were on par with the other comic strips of the time... Sunday comic strips were often not funny, or had jokes that went over children's heads.
There's a giant part of Portal 2's unused audio where GlaDOS found a Garfield comic strip and was unable to find anything funny about it
6:31 some of us in the US still have the Peanuts comics rerunning in the papers and in online comics on the websites of the newspaper.
I.e. the Tulsa World Newspaper. We still got the Peanuts comics running on the newspaper's site.
PERSONA MENTIONED WOOOOOO
Some people called Peanuts the longest story ever told by one human being.
Ah, I see, so it was before One Piece.
...I know this is likely a joke. But Peanuts had been going for 50 years at that point. One Piece is still shy of 30, and Oda has said we're reaching the end.
@@lizardlord4k yes it was a joke

A bad one
I mean, Peanuts was an idea that Charles Schulz and his helpers came up with and started with only 10 to 20 comic strips before it started to become popular in the 1950s and 1960s, refined over the next 30 years up until Mr. Schulz passed on in February 2000. They are still popular albeit it other franchises have taken it's place in terms of popularity, but they're still around even after the creator's death, including at Cedar Fair theme parks (now under Cedar Flags, Cedar Fair Six Flags combined corporation).
So...in a show of hands, who wants to see Pat actually play a Persona game?
These comics have the same exact energy as the "Russian Pokedex" that one dad made
Wait what?I need to know more
9:06 RIP Toriyama 😢
I actually owned the collection of these, but I lost it in a move
I remember reading these comics and hating them~~~
Any take that holds let's go as a bigger failure than Pokémon dash is only because almost nobody remembers it even existed
Why do we live in a world where someone who distributes cp only gets 6 years in prison?
4:13 Thx pat... I hate this feeling😔
Love your content 😊😊😊
I agree that they aren't that bad. As an adult I don't care, but as a kid who loved pokemon I would have loved them!
So Pat, when are you gonna read these comics for members videos? Lol.
The Lets Go games aren't even bad
They're ok, I'm just not a fan of forcibly keeping Pikachu or Eevee on the team
I think alot of the backlash was people worried about the Pokemon Go catching/battle mechanics / "kid-ifying" (im referring to Trace replacing Gary, not the old man at celadon) becoming the new norm for pokemon games going forwards
Looking back on it, esp looking at bdsp, I think we'd only benefit from new remakes being in the Lets Go style! Its such a cute way of doing it without the bobbleheads of bdsp, and honestly i miss the top-down, *non* open world design!
Also straight up, I'd say LG:PE has the best graphics of any 3d pokemon game. its gorgeous!
They were the worts kind of mediocre, they didn't have extra content like fire red leaf green and didn't include the national dex.
I enjoy them quite a lot, actually - great casual experience and they look amazing. Super cozy games
@@alex-wc_frostburn92agreed on all fronts!
23:52 To me it looks a lot like Eevee.
The biggest problem with this strip was that no one involved did their homework about how to make a strip using this IP for the intended audience. I was an adult who dismissed Pokemon as being only for kids, as that wss how it was marketed in America. I am and was a geek who grew up with video games and daily comicw, however, so this should have been an easier sell to me. Instead, they made a piece of crap that I never saw. The art style fit comics from the 1940s, not the 2000s. There were funnier comics adults could read and relate to (and be equally geeky) such as Boondocks. Plus, anyone familiar with the setting would go WTF over stuff like that US government/history class (especially since most schools don't teach it like that to kids Ash and Misty's age). Utter fail.
28:22 One of the worst jobs ever is working in forensics as if a pedo is arrested and they find cp on his hard drive, they require you to look at and watch everything on it in its entirety. As they can't make a case against them unless a human has sat through the entire thing and recorded what has happened.
You don't get paid much but there's severe psychological damage
Unrelated kind of but would you react to SCP 5254?
1999 26 years Later ash is gone
"This comic is ending...before its time."
Ah yes. Only 50 years of storytelling. It ended so soon. 😅
Are they letting Porygon appear in the anime then and make Pikachu take a hike for a few episodes?
Did anyone realise the shiny bulbasaur
Speaking of moderation and people going through the worst videos in the world. Apparently Facebook offers ptsd counseling for moderation
These comics are just as bad if not better than the other comics that have been in papers
Before the start I’d say the greatest Poké failure in my book are either S/V
BDSP or their collection of bugs and programming errors
❤❤❤❤😂😂@okkjk
