  • In this video I show you in depth how I load my snowmobile into a pickup truck. I am riding my 2019 Skidoo 600R onto a 2014 Silverado. To keep things simple and fast I just use ramps and ratchet straps. Hopefully this helps!

    Dude.. great video... exactly what i was looking for! Just got a set of ramps for my sled... tired of hauling around a trailer all the time. Very nicely done with the explanation. U touched on all the key points. Cheers and happy sleddin!

    I think I would remove the key. We had a friend once somehow lost the key during travel. .
    Good quality video, decent camera view etc. And spoken well
    Thank you all 👍👍👍📸🎥

      Definitely remove the key thanks for bringing that up!! Especially with theft, don't wanna leave the keys in the ignition. I appreciate the view.

      I bought a used four-wheeler and threw it in the back of my pickup. When I got home for my first ride I was so excited. Yep the key was gone

    It might be a good idea to discuss your bed length in comparison to the sled and the geometry.

    That $7 piece of wood is now probably $50. Nice video. Thanks!!

    What do you do with your ramp when you’re out riding? Do you lock it up somehow? If so, how do you lock it up so it doesn’t get stolen?

      When I unload on private land I leave it setup. When I unload in a public parking lot I put it in my bed with a bike lock through the ramp and a bed tie down. I know it's minimal security but hopefully it would would deter someone from being a jerk.

    Did you ever notice if your tailgate gets chipped up from road cinders running with it in the open position?

    got the same ramps but i put a 2x6 across my tailgate so i can remove the ramp without the weight of my sled on the ramp!!

    At 2:00 do you start the engine so it idles when your face is next to the tailpipe?

    I'm picking up a sled on Sunday. I went to buy some osb to throw in my bed. God lord it's expensive. I ended up walking out with the cheapest thinnest piece of wood in the store lol. (paneling) It was still like 16 bucks.

      Anything helps. I used it for about 3 years and still looks okay. It was cheap when I made the video. Built a trailer and laid some osb inside. Stay tuned for that video+

    Is your truck a 5.5’ box or 6.5’? 137” fits well on there. Well done video!

      Truck is 2014 silverado double cab (not crew cab) with 6.5 foot bed. Sled is 2019 skidoo renegade with a 137" track. It does fit pretty nice! Thanks for watching!

    I would be concerned about the ramp falling off or scraping the side of the sled as you drive.

    • @OutdoorsmanChannel
      @OutdoorsmanChannel  Рік тому

      Ratchet straps secure it in both cases

    My old snowmobile was light enough I could lift it on the truck myself complete, no ramps

    Unloading ok?

    • @OutdoorsmanChannel
      @OutdoorsmanChannel  3 роки тому +1

      Unloading is way easier. Just attach the ramp and back up then it basically falls down the ramp!
