This was the first song I heard from toe, and was blown away. I made myself a goal to see them live - 7 years later they came to my home city (Dublin) and I was up the front, could reach out and touch them. When they played Goodbye, it was probably one of the most mindblowing things I''d even seen and heard. What an amazing experience.

I saw them live last month and I felt the same. When they played Goodbye, it was so surreal. I had my eyes closed nearly the whole time and was just feeling it.

This song actually helped me through depression and grief. Losing a parent was rough but the passion they have in the song is like the passion you use to pass through the pain of tragedy. The last part is the "letting go" of grief finally. And that final rock-out was my goodbye to my parent. This song man, it's my personal theme song.

peaks to the feeling of loneliness and disconnection one can feel from being surrounded by people who do not truly understand you. The lyrics suggest that the speaker is facing a lot of internal conflicts, yet already knows that the start is the end, potentially suggesting that despite the internal struggle, there is nothing that can be done to change the current situation. The speaker is not able to properly communicate with those around them, leading to feelings of unease and anxiety. The instrumentals used in the song further emphasise the sense of disconnection, with a melancholic melody suggestive of the overall feeling of helplessness. The song thus speaks to a feeling of alienation due to being unable to effectively communicate and express oneself, and ultimately coming to terms with the fact that goodbye might be the only solution.

i feel like this sense of alienation is transmitted even better in the ep version of the song, or rather clearer, with the mixed voices that seem to be overwhelming the instruments and what i believe to be the explosion that results from being saturated at the end with the drumming and all of instruments, the drumming throughout the song being just streams of thought and the instruments accompanying them the outside world.

Maybe is the passion in every riff and every rythm or the atmosphere or, I don't know, some kind of "magic" in the song that tears me apart. No joke, I thought I was religious for a long time because of music. I was raised a Catholic and felt incredible whenever they would play the music. I was a toddler lmao so they just lied to me and told me that it was the power of god reaching through to me. I later learned that frisson is not exclusive to religious music; I also learned that there exists much better music than the one sponsored by the church so I had no real reason to stay afterwards.

This has been one of my fave live band videos.
I love it when a band gets into playing a song, rather than just looking like they are to entertain the audience.

The song is so unifier and great. For me, one of the best perfomances of a band in the world. The simple english mixing with some simple japanese lyrics and the instruments, it's a nice feeling to hear this song every time, it makes me relaxed and hopeful for a better future, this song is so complex that it's hard to define it, as says the song: "It's more complex than how I used to thought"
All countries, all types of people and all type of personalities hearing this song is very beautiful.

Like a lot of people, Goodbye was the first song by Toe I listened to. became one of my favorite songs from the moment I stumbled upon It. Likewise, this became my favorite performance of Goodbye from the moment I watched it. Since then Toe became one of my favorite bands and I cant help but come back to this specific performance just to appreciate the sheer skill and talent that each of the band members had offered individually and the genius of the band all together. My mind was blown by the unmatched beauty math rock has the potential for. Although these days im more familiar with the genre, in many ways it still continues to blow my mind at how skillful and talented some of the creators of Math Rock are, and how amazing their music is. I wish for Toe many years of good fortune and well being for having blessed us all with their amazing art :D and that many more people can come to appreciate the genre like I have. Seeing at how this video has 1.1 million views as of the time im writing this, it seems that wish is becoming a reality !
Also, Here's a small list of mathrock bands I have come to enjoy that other folks might want to check out: ( maybe more people can help add to the list ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ )
