So random lol, but one thing that helped me a lot with a baby and even now with my toddler. I purchased little doggy bags to keep in her bag for when she has really stinky diapers. You change them, throw the diaper in the bag, tie it, and then it reduces the smell until you’re able to find a bin to throw it away in🫶. That hack saved me when I was not able to find a trash can right away while traveling or even out with family😊
Brooklyn! Make sure you research pumping because there's like a lot of stuff you should know before starting so you don't negatively effect your supply, etc. ! I didn't know much about it, and then ended up having to exclusively pump so had to learn really quick.

I wouldn’t touch a Johnson and Johnson product with a 10 foot pole let alone smother my baby in it. Definitely would recommend looking into their track record with carcinogens in their products. My baby is due 2 weeks after Brooklyns and I plan on using Pipette soap and Pipette baby lotion instead.

i would do some research on the bumbo. im in school to be a pediatric physical therapist and im pretty sure the bumbo does not promote healthy spine development. My professor had a baby recently and she recommends the upseat baby booster seat because it has the baby sit on a little bit of an incline so that the spine is straight vs the bumbo which has the baby sit kind of hunched or slouched over
I would agree with you on this. But for price point, the Bumbo multi-seat rather than the one in the video also promotes healthy spine development. It also has a tray attachment to allow for play.
Please be aware of Johnson and Johnson brand. My daughter screamed when I put it on her turns out it was burning her skin! A good replacement is baby magic from Walmart!!! Also a first time mommy here!!! Hope this helps!!
I was hoping someone would bring this up. Not a mom yet myself but I wouldn't even let my husband get Johnson and Johnson baby shampoo for his eyes after spray day at his job. I made sure he got a different cleaner brand so he could safely wash the mace off his face.
4:40 the manual breast pump is the best thing to keep in your diaper bag at all times with a couple extra bottles so if you do forget your breast pump or the battery dies on your breast pump, you can use the manual. It’s wonderful wonderful.
Just a little tip for the pumps… they have flange inserts that you can buy separate but most flanges that come with pumps are too big for most women. The better the flange fits the more milk you get 😊

the manual breast pump is good for if you get mastitis or a clogged duct, or if you feel like the electric pump isn’t fully emptying you (you’ll know haha). a manual pump is also more convenient to use during travel, especially longer car rides! i’ve heard different opinions about the different wearable pump brands, but i hope that one works perfectly for you!!😊
My only “don’t get” comment is the mirror, however I live where it gets very hot. The mirror actually cause my son’s infant seat to catch fire this past summer, we switched to the camera just for extra precaution on that! I’ve also seen other parents talk about the mirror causing burns or fires

My sister-in-law used cloth diapers for my first nephew. there are some you can buy that have buttons and they expand as the baby grows and he never got a diaper rash from it!
As someone who has worked with infants in a daycare: there is no one exact “perfect” product, there really is just what works best for baby and mom! And a lot of the things you received are extremely helpful from even just a caregiver (not mom yet!) perspective: particularly the binkie clips. Those little buggers are so small and easy to lose!! I was so relieved when moms would have them with their baby 😂 I’d clip them to baby to ensure they got it securely and within reach, or sometimes it’s like I’m wearing my own accessories because I’d have like two or three clipped on my own shirt 🤣 It helps so much with differentiating which one belongs to which baby too lol! Also, 1000% love the sippy cups. We had spares at my daycare for emergencies and we always kept those. So handy and no stress if baby drops it!!
I’d recommend bamboo sleepers! Little Sleepies are nice. They have fold over mittens so they don’t scratch their face. And the bamboo helps with sensitive skin!

Get laundry mesh bags and keep one close by to the baby’s hamper. Anything tiny, like the mittens or baby socks, put them in the mesh bag, that way when you’re doing laundry and having to fold tiny baby clothes… the tiny baby socks and mittens are all contained in the mesh bag ☺️☺️☺️☺️
The baby “bath” is actually a seat that you put in the bath filled with water so they can sit in it as a new born. Makes it heaps easier. Also Johnson baby wash is lovely but actually really drying for a small baby. I’d use something like QV for a new born. Much more moisturising for them.

Just wanted to share that they also make milk collector shells. So instead of using a pad to absorb leaking milk, you can put a little collector there (usually best used while you're home since they aren'tas discreet as the pads). That way, you can collect the little bit of extra milk you leak without even having to actively pump it. 🙂 Congratulations again! Y'all are going to be great parents. I know you are getting advice out the wazoo, but I just wanted to say: remember to just try your best with the information you know. If you realized you made a mistake along the way, that's okay. Remember, you are trying your best. Also, your baby doesn't know what's right or wrong. All they know is that you are there sharing your love with them along the way. ❤
You can get milk collectors/collector shells instead of pads. They fit right into your bra and can be work during and after feeding ( during if it's on the side that obviously isnt being used).
Munchkin sippy cup alert!! 🚨 The silicon on the top that the drink comes out under pops off please clean under it I never knew it and mould grew in one make sure you try pop them off to clean! Love watching your videos. Lite nappy change tip. Place the new nappy under bub before changing him and I apply powder to every nappy change and very rarely get a nappy rash 😊
I just had a baby in July! I have the blue spectra and the mom cozy pumps! I have found that the Mom Cozy pumps are great for when I’m going to be out of the house all day, but they’re not fantastic for every day use. I get way more milk with my spectra! I bring my spectra to pump at work, and then I’ll bring my mom cozy pumps to weddings, or hangouts with friends etc. I personally found that the hand pump hurts a lot and it really affected my breastfeeding journey in the first few weeks. Once I started using the spectra instead of the hand pump , my life changed!
This stuff is way too cute !!!! I just had my baby boy on sept 1 and you will use so much of everything you got!!! Make sure you treat yourself and get postpartum stuff you will definitely need it. I recommend Frida mom !!!! Can be found at almost any store ❤
Highly recommend getting different sizes and types of sleep sacks for your LO. My boy hated the swaddle ones that constricted his arms so we quickly moved to armless, looser sleep slacks. We had lots of diaper leaks at first because we were learning so having 5 on hand was nice to ensure we could have enough for a day or two.
You should totally do a video in the future of what you did and didn’t use for the first few months!! Those videos were SUUUUPER helpful when I was a first time mom!

We switched to Tubby Todd as the Johnson and Johnson irritated his skin like no other.
This!! Sooo many better/cleaner brands out there. We use Babo Botanicals
Dove and Cerave are great for sensitive skin. Johnson and Johnson is a big No for my babies

We use cloth, 7 months and no rash!
10 months strong with cloth and the only rashes we've had were from allergies!

You can get milk collectors/collector shells instead of pads. They fit right into your bra and can be work during and after feeding ( during if it's on the side that obviously isnt being used).

Yes the buffer is a lifesaver, my bf uses it on our toddler all the time esp bc he loves to move a lot but the clippers are probably safer to use while they’re asleep lol

No, it's not recommended to set a Bumbo on a counter:

Lite nappy change tip. Place the new nappy under bub before changing him and I apply powder to every nappy change and very rarely get a nappy rash 😊

That spectra is actually rechargeable and once charged it doesn’t need to be plugged in to use! I used it for 2 if my babies and it worked great

I just had a baby in July! I have the blue spectra and the mom cozy pumps! I have found that the Mom Cozy pumps are great for when I’m going to be out of the house all day, but they’re not fantastic for every day use. I get way more milk with my spectra! I bring my spectra to pump at work, and then I’ll bring my mom cozy pumps to weddings, or hangouts with friends etc.
I personally found that the hand pump hurts a lot and it really affected my breastfeeding journey in the first few weeks. Once I started using the spectra instead of the hand pump , my life changed!

Highly recommend getting different sizes and types of sleep sacks for your LO. My boy hated the swaddle ones that constricted his arms so we quickly moved to armless, looser sleep slacks. We had lots of diaper leaks at first because we were learning so having 5 on hand was nice to ensure we could have enough for a day or two.
You should totally do a video in the future of what you did and didn’t use for the first few months!! Those videos were SUUUUPER helpful when I was a first time mom!
