I had a leaking power steering system. every time I’d add fluid an hour later I’d notice my steering was hard again. I pulled into autozone grabbed a bottle of at-205 reseal, and put nothing more than a capful in.its been three months and Im glad to say I haven’t had to add a single drop a power steering fluid! 1997 BMW e-38 had a leak in the power steering. Used AT-205 in the power steering reservoir, which it is recommended for. Power steering made no noise before I used AT-205, just a slow leak that had to be refilled every 10 days or so. The AT-205 clogged the system to the point that the fluid flow was somehow impeded. The power steering began making a horrible growling howl noise when the wheel was turned left or right the following morning. Maybe AT-205 clogged some screen or filter and prevented circulation of the power steering fluid. Drove slowly and noisily to the mechanic. My mechanic pulled out the power steering reservoir, emptied the fluid. The At-205 residue in the fluid was like a loose silicone consistency - a sort of gunky residue. - so I can see how the stuff would definitely stop leaks in other components. We pulled the hoses (be careful, fluid still leaked out on the floor) and cleaned the reservoir completely using spray brake cleaner. Blew out everything with compressed air , refilled reservoir with fresh fluid. First day, steering still made a whining noise on turns, and two days later, when the air left the system and hoses, we added a bit more fluid to spec, and the power steering was back to normal. Thank God the AT-205 clog didn't ruin the power steering pump. Close call. Seems like a lot of positive reviews on oil and transmission usage, but I wouldn't put it in a power steering reservoir again. Be careful in power steering application. No instructions on power steering system usage, so you're rolling the dice. I came this close to a $500 power steering unit replacement. Good luck.
This product is Jesus in a bottle. It definitely works miracles. I worked in the automotive industry selling parts and have not only used the product but highly highly recommended it my customers. Thanks for providing this to the market .

Rear Main Seal Is Leaking I Put The Blue Devil In And It Still Leaks Oil Maybe It Takes A Few Days To Kick In. I Really Hope The Blue Devil Will Work My Dipstick Is Broke And I Have No Ideal How Much Oil Is In My Motor
I have used this and it's working great as promised. I had some blue smoke upon start up and a small leak in my power steering pump. Both went away almost instantly. I have a 26 year old Lexus LS400 with 168,000 miles on it. So its saving me from a possible ring or gasket job and a power steering pump. I plan to buy a newer Lexus in a few months. So the car is fine for now.
I was pretty skeptical, but I tried it as a last resort on my 2004 Saab 9-3. After a week of driving I come out and find no more oil leak. I still can't believe my eyes.
I add 4 ounces of AT-205 to my engine at every 4th oil change (20,000 miles) to prevent leaks. That works out to about $2 per oil change. That is a very small price to pay to prevent oil leaks. I have a 2012 Camry hybrid with 150 K miles and no oil leaks, all for $60 of AT-205. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
I was skeptical. Added to my 2004 BMW 530i which has been leaking lately. Added then drove from SLC to Reno. No signs in the parking spot. Drove home and now day 5 with no drips. Fingers crossed but so far so good.
My obvious question is >>> You open the car hood, remove the oil filler cap and then add the AT-205 contents. In effect, you have technically overfilled the engine fluids! Manufacturers and service bulletins specifically warn against overfilling. Please explain your reasons for doing this without mention of removing an equal amount of oil first. Thanks
I have the same question. My answer would be that if your oil level reads "full" to drain some oil first = the AT-205 you will add. But if your dipstick reads a little low I would just add the AT-205.
Can buy this stuff anywhere now, it was hard to find for awhile due to ingredient/supply shortages, distribution issues caused by covid. Just bought a bottle(3-14-22) off the shelf at Advance Auto Parts, it’s in stock at a lot of online sites too.
I use this stuff on all the rubber bushings, boot covers etc... on my tundra. My sons friend spent 1,600 replacing his Tundras bushings. I spent 10 bux reconditioning with this stuff. Just pour into a spray mister bottle and spray liberally on the bushings. Don't forget the shock bushings on your Bilstein or other shocks.
Should add the following. Just spray on til just about the point it runs off. Don't wipe off the excess, it will soak in. Did mine about 2 years ago and am still good to go.
I have used it on one car with success. Two questions. I am 2000 miles away from the next oil change. Can I out it in now and keep it in until my next oil change in ~1 month? Same question for a transmission: It is safe to leave in for ~1 month so I can do both fluid changes at the same time, please? Regards, Bo Andersen
ATP, ARE YOU STILL ANSWERING QUESTION ON THIS VIDEO? I have a 1999 Camry with no leaks. Never had them, so all engine gaskets are original. I use high mileage Penzoil Synthetic oil made from natural gas, which is claimed to already have decent seal conditioners (the Penzoill ended a puff of smoke at start-up issue the engine was having 2 years ago... maybe valve seals?) If I use AT-205, A; Can it be used to maintain non-leaking seals and gaskets? B; Do I have to use it at every oil change? C; What are the chances a leak would develop if I use AT-205 infrequently, IOW, does it work like Armorall drying out the rubber if you use it infrequently? D; Does it work on Viton valve seals at all? I don't want to start a problem that doesn't exist nor do I want to get caught up in an unnecessary cycle of using a product that's hard to get and is getting pricey. Any light on this plethora of questions would be helpful.
I added AT-205 RESEAL and drove the recommended 5-hour accumulated operating time. Well, it did slow down the oil leak but not entirely. I contacted the company's tech support and asked as to why the product did not stop the oil leaking entirely. They responded quickly and their answer was, "Every application will vary depending on the age, mileage, condition of the seals, etc. but it would be abnormal for additional leaks to appear after the AT-205 has been applied."
@@sfmc98 Where did I find what..?? If your asking where was the initial leaks, they were at the head gaskets. Hope that helps if that the question you were asking...?

Hi I'm facing a minor leaking in my Genesis G80 2017 transmission. So it will work on it and is it safe will wait for you quick response as i stop driving that car. Thanks
Not knowing the product, but the science, it will not affect anything if it doesnt have a "fresh" place to bond. It shoudln't do much of anything to a seal that is intact besides add an extra layer. I do not know what else they could have in it, but assuming people use this when they have already found a leak, i would say it would repair any microfractures that have appeared, or just add a molecular layer of strength to parts that haven't had any wear damage.
Example: Car engine requires 5.1 quarts of oil. Do I 1: fill engine with 5.1 qts and then add recommended amount AT-205 , or do I 2: add oil+AT-205 such that the total amount is 5.1 quarts?
MountainManJoe 13/02/2021 4:53 pm I was curious about Scotty's miracle in can too, so I decided to research AT-205 Re-Seal. The safety datasheet reveals that this product is purely made of glycol ether, which is a versatile industrial solvent (in paints, cleaners, strippers etc.). It's been around for at least a century. (Guess what else is a glycol ether ... DOT4 brake fluid.) The action is fairly simple. The ether is absorbed into the rubber, causing it to swell. This might be desirable in an application where you need to seal something. The rubber gasket swells, fills a gap and prevents the escape of whatever you are trying to contain. You probably need to keep applying it though, because after the ether leeches out, the rubber will shrink again. You are not making the rubber new, you are just temporarily swelling it. When you swell rubber (or any other polymer) you are making it less dense, which makes it less durable, and lose strength. It doesn't seem like a good idea to repeatedly swell and shrink rubber. It won't bring back cracked rubber. I don't think it helps slows down aging either. In fact I think it might accelerate it by leeching out the original plasticizers. All you're doing is swelling and softening it temporarily. I say with AT-205, stick to the intended application. It's right in the name: "Re-Seal". But I'm open to other opinions.

Note: AT-205 RE-SEAL, do NOT give it 5 hours. Drive it immediately. Ideally you'd pour it in while it's running. This will melt paint off your oil pan (if you have a painted oil pan, curse the OEMs who do) if you don't mix it into your oil by running your engine, then it will clog the oil pickup screen and kill your motor by reducing your oil pressure to 0
I use it once for a rear main seal leak, everything looks good still, it's been 5 oil changes and over a year. I spray that white foot powder stuff from the dollar tree around the area once in awhile to check for new leaks. I just keep an extra bottle handy if I were to see any new leak. Good luck.
that stuff was most likely rubber already dissolved in the system. The at205 just turned into from dust to residue.
worked for my power steering leak
This product is Jesus in a bottle. It definitely works miracles. I worked in the automotive industry selling parts and have not only used the product but highly highly recommended it my customers. Thanks for providing this to the market .
I'am Your Newest Subscriber Great Videos. I Just Got A 1999 Chevy Astro Van With 325k Miles On It. Rear Main Seal Is Leaking I Put The Blue Devil In And It Still Leaks Oil Maybe It Takes A Few Days To Kick In. The Ripoff Machanics Here In Florida Were Talking 700.00 To 1000.00 To Change The Rear Main Seal . I Really Hope The Blue Devil Will Work My Dipstick Is Broke And I Have No Ideal How Much Oil Is In My Motor
THANK you ATP205. I fixed my transmission leak !
My transmission is leaking/dripping...Did you use the whole bottle?
Careful heard a horror story abt a Toyota transmission. Destroyed it, the interior of the sump was painted and the paint dissolved...
How long does the sealing effect last - after the AT-205 is no more contained in the oil (e.g. after an oil change)?
Thanks
Idiot....it's only one pint.
Can/should AT 205 be applied externally (on things like boots) to keep rubber supple?
Bendirval absolutely. Works great. Put in a spray bottle and apply.
#scottykilmer *supple*
My 2006 Sienna has 105,000 miles. There are currently no leaks. Should I add AT205 to the engine oil proactively to condition my rear main seal?
A Marmot great QUESTION but no answer. Ask Tim at at205 company
I need to know this too
Honda power steering they says use specified honda power steering fluid. Is this product can be use to a honda power steering system? Thanks.
I have an oil "weep" on my Harley at the oil cooler. I will try this instead of a gasket kit and 2 hours of labor at the dealership.
@@victoreous626 I like the way you think, thanks for the tip man.
Excellent video for a G R E A T product. Thanks!
At205 best #1 Hard to find for some reason
Only just heard about this product through scotty so will be giving it a try.
Thanks so much. You answered my questions
I know he says all engines. Is it safe and effective on diesel engines and heavy equipment hydraulics???? Thanks
I'd say so. As long as it's an oil based fluid
How come I can't find this at my local autozone and orileys anymore? I love this stuff
Where did you find it?
@@sfmc98 Where did I find what..?? If your asking where was the initial leaks, they were at the head gaskets. Hope that helps if that the question you were asking...?
@@earthorigins3509 I wanted to know where you found the AT-205 product. It's been out everywhere.
I had a cam seal leak in my 2006 Subaru Forester, I put it in, and no more leak, what more can I say.
I have a bad cam seal leak on my 2012 forester from passenger side. Very time engine starts with white smoke. I ordered one bottle, let’s see how it goes.
@@et6194 Hi. Just found out that. my 2005 Subaru Outback's valve cover gaskets/pinion seals are starting to leak. Wondering if ATP worked well with your transmission and car in general.
@@c.o.s.ismyname7701 hi, after I used AT205, white smoke of first start is gone. However, my valve cover still bubbling engine oil. And every time top up oil, white smoke came again. After a month consideration So I decided to rebuild the engine. There is pro and cons for rebuilding the engine. It may not fix the issue after cost money and time, also may accur new problems. If I can tell my previous self . It is better for topping oil rather than rebuilding it
I've used this successfully on 2 older cars to fix leaky valve seals. (Blue smoke at startup)
I used this stuff in my 85 chevy s10 2.8 an I had 3 main leaks one was oil filter housing the Little Seal inside was making a huge mess of oil leak and I could not fix that because the engine mount was right in the way of it .
I had a front seal that was leaken an my instake manifold too an one other place butt idk where it was tho .
I changed my oil an added a hole bottle to it an now so far I haven't seen anymore leaks I'm so glad an happy cause it was maken a mess on my engine bay an I just put that engine an transmission in the truck a year ago .
Truck is on my UA-cam channel if you wanna see it .
I have an 06 Pontiac GTO with a rear main seal leak. It leaks a drop every 2 or 3 days. I used this product and drove for an hour after I poured it in to circulate it well. It's been 700 miles since then and I still have the leak so this didn't work for me.
It may not be leaking from the rear main seal ...Check the rear seal cover itself and check the cam sensor harness for leaks.
@@mael-strom9707 Thanks!
Yes it works.
It works i used it on a rear main seal
I have a 12 valve Cummins and it takes 12 quarts of oil should I use 2 bottles of at205? Will adding this much cause the oil to loose its oiling properties?
Just bought me a bottle. But since my car is still pretty new. I'll just use it to spray on rubber seal and bushing on the outside to prolong that elasticity.
Could you use this on your tire sidewalls and or tread to recondition them
I could put it in my power steering fluid?
Should you drain the fluid down some before you add At-205 to the transmission?
How long does this stuff remain in your engine? Until the oil is changed? Or does it burn off/breakdown eventually?
HI TIM BEFORE I USE THE AT205 I BOUGHT NOW I NEED AN OIL CHANGE IF I PUT IT IN NOW AND AFTER A WEEK OR TWO I GET AN OIL CHANGE WILL THAT SUCK THE AT205 OUT ALONG WITH THE OIL BEING REMOVED?
Have a bottle coming tomorrow...WOO HOO.
Love the product. Inquired if i could buy a case and you wont sell it to the general public. Figured you would sell it to anyone wanting it.
You guys seemed to have quit making it for a while and now it's back. I saw a video where someone said the stuff now being sold smells different than what it used to. Supposedly smelled more like acetone before, but not now. Can you do an update and tell us what if anything changed?
Thanks. Scotty
Hi! Can I spray this externally on a rubber turbo hose? I dont see any damage or cracks, I just want to prevent it from having those problems. Thanks!
Do you have to add a new bottle with every oil change?
When did this stuff come out?
Howdy I'm currently using my second bottle of Lucas power steering stop leak with little success. Would AT-205 serve me better?
I love this stuff. It works!.
Hello! I have an ATV Quad.. a Bombardier ds650 to be exact, would this product works good and safe? I'm asking because I could'nt fin info about using this product in a ATV quad. Thank you!
Hi I'm facing a minor leaking in my Genesis G80 2017 transmission. So it will work on it and is it safe will wait for you quick response as i stop driving that car.
Thanks
Can this be used as a preventative maintenance before the leaks start on a high mileage engine/transmission or do I need to wait for a leak to start?
Not knowing the product, but the science, it will not affect anything if it doesnt have a "fresh" place to bond. It shoudln't do much of anything to a seal that is intact besides add an extra layer. I do not know what else they could have in it, but assuming people use this when they have already found a leak, i would say it would repair any microfractures that have appeared, or just add a molecular layer of strength to parts that haven't had any wear damage.
Example: Car engine requires 5.1 quarts of oil. Do I 1: fill engine with 5.1 qts and then add recommended amount AT-205 , or do I 2: add oil+AT-205 such that the total amount is 5.1 quarts?
marky MArky great QUESTION and no answer. My question was should I get an oil change first
How will it effect the MDS ststem in an engine ?? Will it be safe fir MDS system? Shut off cilinders system MDS ! Will it clogh the lifters ? Ty

Only online. Google it..
Do you have to drain any oil first or can you add it to a full pan

I was curious about Scotty's miracle in can too, so I decided to research AT-205 Re-Seal.
The safety datasheet reveals that this product is purely made of glycol ether, which is a versatile industrial solvent (in paints, cleaners, strippers etc.). It's been around for at least a century. (Guess what else is a glycol ether ... DOT4 brake fluid.)
The action is fairly simple.
Hello! I have a Dodge Dakota, 1998, 4 Cyl, 2.5L Base. I have a leak on my transmission. Also where the Crankshaft Pulley goes. Please forgive my ignorance on car mechanics. How much should I used ? Which part of the engine should I put it? Thank You. HC

Can I use this in a spray bottle for bushings and boots? If so should I use it straight or mixed with water?

did worK?
@@DBoone123 Well the short answer is it didn't get any worse from teh four years after this comment. I miss my Civic, brake line busted while the rear main seal was still ok. Also Honda had a service bulletin back in the day regarding this issue...

4 yrs old , is the product still good . Or does it expire ,

Could you use it in a 200,000 miles engine (no leak) just to rejuvenate the seals ?????

I would like to know how to change a front diff on a 06 GMC ENVOY 4200 so can you make a video of step by step on removing the peaces and putting them back on together cause I want to learn on how to do it and pay no one
Best product I ever used
Note: AT-205 RE-SEAL, do NOT give it 5 hours. Drive it immediately. Ideally you'd pour it in while it's running. This will melt paint off your oil pan (if you have a painted oil pan, curse the OEMs who do) if you don't mix it into your oil by running your engine, then it will clog the oil pickup screen and kill your motor by reducing your oil pressure to 0
Thanks for the info. The box doesn't have any directions
Do you keep adding this product every oil change or is it a one time shot?
I use it once for a rear main seal leak, everything looks good still, it's been 5 oil changes and over a year. I spray that white foot powder stuff from the dollar tree around the area once in awhile to check for new leaks. I just keep an extra bottle handy if I were to see any new leak. It's good shit and worth every penny. I get mine on Amazon for around $10.
Will this product work on auto weatherstripping/rubber seals around doors, windows and trunk if I dampen a cloth and wipe on directly?
Bees Waxx absolutely. Better yet, put in a spray bottle and apply.
Ryugo7 7 it is expensive
I have a Mazda cx9 3.7L , how much do i need from AT 205 for the engine & transmission as well
