Glad this is helpful! but please keep in mind that this video was taken during COVID so the rooms in Lambton would be shared, unlike my room as we weren't allowed roommates at that time.
This is exactly what I was looking for. I really want to know more about University of Guelph cause it's one of my top choices in Canada. Could you please make a video where you give tips on how to apply and make your application stand out as well as extracurricular activities.
Hi Augustine! For me I found living on campus was more expensive than living off campus because the amount of money I would spend on rent for one year was less than residence. Even taking into account the money spent on groceries. Two years ago I would say that campus was more expensive because it is mandatory to purchase a meal plan when you live in residence but now that housing prices in Guelph have SIGNIFICANTLY increased I would say theyre about the same. But depending on the price of rent, off campus housing can be more expensive. Alot of students used to choose Guelph due to the cheap off campus housings but now the average rent is around $700-$1,000 per month which is insane because my first year off campus my rent was $500-$600 (you cant really find very many at this price anymore, but they’re there). So to answer your question, it really depends on where you are living off campus and how much you would spend on groceries. The transit is free for all students in Guelph, so you dont have to worry about cost of commuting.
At the beginning of the year you were allowed up to one other person in your single room (thats why I was by myself in all the rooms). And for the townhouses, Im not too sure how many people were allowed, but you would live with 3 other people. However, in the fall (2021), I know that all first years are guaranteed residence and the restrictions won't be as bad and this past year.
Johnston Hall is really nice, some people say that its better than Lambton but personally I don't agree lol. Yes everyone can use the school gym, ill make a video of that in the new year :)
Imma be honest with you... I have no idea😂😭 I asked some of my upper year friends and they said they don't know either and I personally haven't stepped foot into a single uni building, expect for the residences 😂 I will keep you updated tho:)
looking into the university of guelph, for swimming, and was wondering if you live with someone from your sport or you just have a random roommate? thanks!! this video was super informative!
When you apply to be in residence, you can request to be in the athletic cluster. Meaning that you will be placed with another athlete and the school will most likely try their best to place you with someone from your specific sport
This is amazing! This is really helpful for packing!! So nice to have an idea of the space I’m working with 😆
Glad this is helpful! but please keep in mind that this video was taken during COVID so the rooms in Lambton would be shared, unlike my room as we weren't allowed roommates at that time.

Also can you give me a brief difference between the two?

were you guys allowed to visit each other's dorms/houses with the pandemic going on? I'm going to guelph next year:)
