Green pied and blue are the most interesting for me bc green pied keeps the baby look while the blue one is just mesmerizing to look at.
My Chico was blue and he was so beautiful. After he went missing I didn’t want to have another bird that resembled him and that’s how I came across Ricco. He was the first pied ringneck parrot I’d ever seen, now I’m in love 🥰

Fact number 11: they live and breed wild in several cities in Rheinland-Palatinate in Germany, where you can see them flying around in groups and screeching like crazy.

Such a Nice video! Fact 4 is interesting. I didn't knew you have to do a DNA test to know their gender, I l also didn't know they are illegal to own in some countries. Is it because they are considered wild there?

Aww thank you, glad you enjoyed the video 🥰. The pied ringneck parrots like Ricco do need a DNA test because they don’t develop the ring, so physically it’s difficult to know the difference between a male and female.
With fact #10 they are considered wild in some countries therefore are illegal to own, whereas in other countries they are considered pests because they are invasive birds. It’s pretty interesting.

In some Countries they are looked at as pests and other countries as wildlife. It really depends on the country and the law that was put forth.

We've got two Indian ring necks that we hand raised from young babies. They were great for awhile, but after awhile they got less social and grew more scared of us...? Not sure where we went wrong, but they go mental any time we go near the cage. Their parents were caught in the wild, is this maybe a reason why their behavior changed so dramatically?
Is there anything that may have changed? Whatever the reason may be you will need to start over again and gain their trust. I don’t believe them coming from wild parents has anything to do with it because many baby ringneck parrots come from parents who are not handled. If they are in one cage I would recommend separating them and working with them individually. It will take time and patience but it can be done. Ringneck parrots especially will revert back to becoming wild if not interacted with daily. Use favourite treats and foods to build a trust again and never force them to do anything they don’t feel comfortable with. Hope that helps, all the best.
Is it normal for a 3 yr old ringneck male to not have a ring around it's neck?
It does sometimes take longer, so yes it is normal. Have you had a DNA test done?
