The group shot i saw on railfan window blog. Its sad railfans are not civilized like the older ones and the old days used to be traveling in a group and getting along with each other. Shows real friendships are a once in the blue moon nowadays.
@trainluvr I can see, as people were boarding at 00:43, why IRT trains normally don't run on the BMT/IND lines. On this trip, how did that work assisting people over the gap? In case you didn't know, the London Underground has a section (between Uxbridge and Rayners Ln, that is) where big and small trains share tracks. I wonder how that works at the stations.
The gap is just a few inches and allowed only on charters with constant reminders to watch the gap. I know of a single instance where a 7 was diverted to Ditmars to provide relief during a severe interruption of RR service in the 1970s.
If this was the final sets of R-26s and R-28s last trip or farewell (ERA) fan trip then it would’ve been October 7, 2002. Or did they last another two months and had their final revenue run on December 8, 2002? The last R-29s ran on October 24, 2002, the last R-33MLs ran on April 20, 2003, followed by the last R-33WFs and R-36s on November 3, 2003. They were also called R-33 World’s Fair or R-33S.
R33WF and R36 only had a light cosmetic overhaul and rewiring (including AC installation on the R36s). The electrical system was unchanged, with original battery lighting not replaced by modern solid state inverters.
I was on this fan trip. Great runs of IRT cars on Division B trackage. I really enjoyed it.
I'm glad you are enjoying my many videos. New batch now cooking.

Damn the R143 M train, the nostalgia. :3
I Seen The R40M (J) Trains & R143 (M) Shuttle Trains.
I remember when I was 3 years old watching News 12 when they showed the last of the cars that were accepted for dumping, Ill never forget it.
I don't know. Its a solid 6 car train of R-33S (single), and I think they were not all needed by then.
The MTA should do something like this again.
THEY WERE THE GREATEST !!!!!!!

Snow on the platform of Atlantic Avenue.
My fault, sorry man. I miss the redbirds so much. Have any been saved?
Was this trip open to the public? Did you have to pay a fee to attend?
It was open to anyone that heard of it, and there was a fee charged. I'm thinking around $40.
There's NO way that these cars were on lines that they don't even belong on
That is definitely something
Why the light flicker sometimes
When the train passes through a gap in the third rail, the car that is between two third rail ends loses external power.
R33WF and R36 only had a light cosmetic overhaul and rewiring (including AC installation on the R36s). The electrical system was unchanged, with original battery lighting not replaced by modern solid state inverters.
@@trainluvr wish it would still do that
Why was there a BMT rollsign?
Because railfans thought it would look cool while running on B division tracks.
Wow
No they went to the 7 after ward
