    All those wires and connectors are in the ATF? So it's not conductive? Interesting!

      Yep the wiring and TMC is in the transmission fluid. It's becoming more and more common.

    Great video!
    Have u come across fault code P1915 it’s to do with the gear selector switch range not correct on start up. Puts the transmission into limp mode.
    Not much info on the switch replacement.
    Thanks
    Matt

    • @killawattgarage
      @killawattgarage  2 роки тому +1

      Again on a cruze I saw similar thing the other day. The gear selector display would go blank and I suspected the gear selector switch. It didn't cause a code but my scan tool recognised the gear as 'invalid' so I was surprised it didn't go into limp mode. The switch is replaceable. There are a few 6T40 transmission tear down videos that might help.

      I'm running into the same issue with p1915 and p0700 after research unconcluded that is is very likely the internal range switch. I'm about to tackle the job myself just need some reassurance that nothing crazy beyond removal of tcm n valve body to allow access to replace it

    • @mavenfpv7843
      @mavenfpv7843 Рік тому +1

      @@Justdrivinthru I changed mine and it didn’t fix the problem unfortunately. It was the TCM that had failed. I sold the car broken and the guy put a secondhand gearbox in it and fixed the problem.

      @mavenfpv7843 Рік тому

      @@Justdrivinthru to change the range switch it’s pretty fiddly with the transmission in the car. Tcm, valve body out. There’s a couple of roll pins that need to be removed that are hard to get to. They allow the shift level to come out the top of the box so the range switch can be removed.

    I purchased a 2010 holden cruze 2.0 diesel.
    Speedo not working. Gears not changing have to manually put in 1/2/3 and reverse to drive. And shifting hard when changing gears. Guessing that's becuase it doesn't know what speed it's going.
    The permanent codes I am getting are.
    P0717 input/turbine Speed sensor "A" Circuit no signal.
    And
    P0722 output speed sensor No signal.
    Apparently the output speed sensor was already changed??

    • @kovacevd
      @kovacevd 3 роки тому

      After some more testing. Vehicle has now twice had the speedo come back up but also stopped allowing me to change gear and stayed in first gear Wether I'm in manual mode or in drive and engine light goes on but speedo on dash starts working again. I'm very confused. Cannot work this out

    • @killawattgarage
      @killawattgarage  3 роки тому +1

      Once the speedo doesn't work its a clear sign that the ECU doesn't know the speed either and then cant choose the right gear. I would be starting to look at the sensors, wiring and even the ECU plug pins. Its a common problem but there's not a common solution. Good luck

      We dont have them in Australia, but typically GM uses a similar layout so it most likely that the sensor would be in the similar spot behind the valve block in the front of the transmission. Let me know how things go.

      The code P2714 is set when the Pressure Control Solenoids get stuck. Sometimes a fluid flush can clear the stuck solenoids but replacement is best. Aftermarket is the cheaper option. Not sure on your location to advise the best options. Good Luck
