Thanks for this. I actually had already Cooked lot of CPs before I saw this vid. Based my sauce off of your but added brown mustard and liquid smoke. My regular eating hubby said if I hadn't told him he'd thought it was real cheese sauce. Had it over a baked potato and steamed broccoli. YUM!
I'm using tumeric for all. Then garlic and fine chopped dried parsley for one batch. Dates and Cilantro for another batch. Turned out amazing. Had 3 cheeses.
Did not have the oil. I did roast the garlic in a pan prior. Had dried herbs that u fine chopped. Chopped the dates in fine pieces. Never eating cow cheeses again. This is healthy and kind to animals. The suffering cow mommy's endure when new born babies are ripped from them, so we have milk and cheese is horrid.
Maria, you can add a a spoon of pimento peppers diced from a jar or some of the red peppers that come in the jar that are whole. Put about a fourth of a pepper. It will add a nice sharp cheese flavor and more red color which will make it a deeper Orange. It's an extra nice touch. Try it!
Thank you for this. I need to get the nutritional yeast then I’ll make it. Cannot tolerate dairy so am looking forward to this. Will make a small batch first time. Bless you!
What you made is a variaton of what in the United Kingdom is called pease pudding or pease porridge, which is made from legumes like split peas, red lentils, or chick peas. Tofu requires the use of a coagulant. Pease pudding/pease porridge can be seasoned in a variety of ways. Vegetable broth can be substituted for the water. Pease pudding/pease porridge has a long history going back to ancient times. You may have heard the nursery rhyme, "Pease pudding hot, peae pudding cold, pease pudding in the pot, nine days old!" It is found in other regions of the world under different names. A variation of pease pudding/pease porridge can be made from gram or besan, chickpea/garbanzo bean flour, or sattu, toasted chickpea flour.
I was excited that i had all these ingredients , so i made this instantly. But. Nutritional yeast triggers a migraine in me, so i used a few other spices. This was delicious in a sandwich with seitan in the form of fake ham slices. Hugs!
The cellulose bean skins aren’t digestible, which is not a bad thing in itself, but they can lead to bloating in people with sensitive digestive systems. Though I don’t mind the skins, I always peel them, because my elderly mother lives with me and they would bother her. Should you choose to peel them, it’s easiest if you keep them in water; the skin will separate more readily if wet. Practice a bit and you’ll find that a quick pinch will pop the bean right out of its skin.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️👍👍👍👍👍👍 This recipe is great for people who want to avoid all animal cruelty and wish to eliminate dairy from their diets. I will make it with turmeric, (no oil for health issues). Thank you so much! You are genius. ❤️
Just made my first batch. It's setting up now. I added 1 jalepeno, cumin and red pepper flakes. The tastes is great. Can't wait to try different seasonings. Thanks so much for sharing.
I'm wondering if you have to whisk it into the boiling water or can you just put all of the liquid in the blender and then put it in the pot and start whisking it?
what i used was annato seeds, what i do is take some oil in a sauce pan and throw a handful of annatto seeds in it and bring to a boil, once it starts to boil i right away turn it of and you will see all the color of the annatto seeds coming out and your oil will turn almost dark orange, almost reddish, But it's optional, you can use turmeric instead to give it more color. It's mostly for color y use the annatto oil, I guess i should make a video on how to get color out of annatto seeds :)
I have not tried it, but doubt it, i usually do like a scrambled egg look alike with onion and garlic, it yumm, also you can fry slices and eat it just like that, i love it :)

I'm wondering if you have to whisk it into the boiling water or can you just put all of the liquid in the blender and then put it in the pot and start whisking it?
you could, so it comes out more smooth and less lumpy, then put back in the pot to let it cook
hi...thanq for this...is there any substitute for nutritional yeast? TIA
Hi I enjoyed the video, it's so easy. Going to be making in the near future. I'm starting my veagan journey need all the help so thank you 😊
Great video!Would it work if I substituted chick peas for soya beans? Thanks
Yes !!! You can use any sort of Beans !!!!
This makes a lot. Can you freeze it?
I was going to ask whether you can use can or cooked chickpeas but i saw you answered no to that question from someonelse
Thank you for the recipes i would like to try this 🙏🏻

Does this melt like cheese? Can I make a cheesy sauce with it by grating after it's set already?
No, only dairy melts
Can you use canned chickpeas
It has to be raw, canned won't work

Mmm I'm going to try it soon when I get around to it ...
Any alternative to nutritional yeast flakes
Just don't use it, it's more for the taste
I add a bit of lemon juice and some sugar, because Parmesan Cheese has a fruity taste, which I really like !!!! I also add Olive Oil which makes the Cheese more like Real Cheese which contains Fat !!!!!
Hi, I would really enjoy making this, but I am oil free. Will this firm up without the oil? Or is the oil what makes it firm?
You don't have to use the oil, i used it just for colour and it will firm up :)
Does the chickpea cheese need to be refrigerated (like regular cheese)? Also, for how long will the cheese last?
Thanks!
Yes you do have to put it in the fridge, and it will last for a week or you can freeze half and keep a little in the fridge what you will be consuming
This didn't set up. Do you have to cook it till it's like Gak? Mine is still soft. Tastes ok, though!
Catherine Falconburg you have to cook it till it really thickens up, then por in a mold, unless you put too much water
Super 💕 easy
Annato oil not available here in SA
Then just skip it or use turmeric
substitute for annatto oil? I'm guessing THAT is what 'binds' the cheese
No dear, that is just for colour, it's optional to use annatto, OR use turmeric instead
@@MariasHealthyCooking Ok I guessed turmeric would add nice color and buttery flavor also to the cheese. thanks

I just watched your video of cheese made with Besan (chickpea) flour. Do the molds need to be oiled? Thank you for sharing your recipes.
I didn´t use oil, because it´s none stick
Is there another oil you could substute, if you cant find that paticular one?
Use any oil of your choice

Hi there! Nice recipe! Thank you!
You heated the liquid then how the Yeast - nutritional yeast could work? After cooking, will it be probiotic?
That is just for flavour, but you don't have to add
@@MariasHealthyCooking thank you dear Mariya!🙏
Do you have to heat it or could you substitute the heating with something else that could result in the chickpeas set? (raw food vegan)
it won't taste nice if you eat it raw, maybe mixing it with something else

can i use black eyed peas?
sure, but has to be raw for it to work

Can you use canned chickpeas?
has to be raw
Can you use canned drained chickpeas?
In the can comes already cooked, i haven't tried it, nothing hurts trying, and let me know
I doubt it will work because it is already cooked.
Does it work with can chickpea?
no, it has to be raw
How difficult is it to get out of the mold?
