Most handcycles use parallel cranks as opposed to the regular set up for regular bike cranks. The other advantage of having parallel cranks is that you get an almost rowing position in which you can use your upper back and lats which you usually don't use as a paraplegic. Using offset cranks (the regularg bike postion) would be a good idea if you're cross training and might also be involved in a kayaking program.

Yes.....but having an organization or disability group purchase it would be an economical way to use this product. For private use you'd better be fairly well off or you're S.O.L.
