I’m on Social Security and Medicare. The thing that happens is yes we got a three point whatever percent increase last year but my Medicare part B payment also went up by $60 a month more than my cola so I actually took a $60 a month cut. I literally made best decisions when i started working with an advisor
Totally agree. A good financial adviser is a game-changer. My portfolio is balanced for all market conditions, and it has returned 120% since early last year. My adviser and I are now working toward hitting a seven-figure goal, which could take another year.
My CFA Julianne Iwersen Niemann, a renowned figure in her line of work. I recommend researching her credentials further. She has many years of experience and is a valuable resource for anyone looking to navigate the financial market.
I hear you; it's tough when COLA increases barely keep up with rising costs, and with Medicare premiums possibly going up again, it could feel even tighter this year. Having an advisor on your side is a great call-they can help you navigate these changes and make the most of what you’re getting. Here’s hoping for some better adjustments soon!
I agree. Great video and explanation between the G and N medigap plans. Do you know if there's a site to look at claim denial percentages for the Supplemental G Plans by Insurance Company? Thanks
Thanks for watching and great question. No, there is not a claim denial chart by company for Medigap plans - here's why. Medigap (Supplement) plans follow what Medicare pays. In other words, if Medicare pays the claim, the Medigap Plan (Regardless of letter or carrier name) MUST pay its portion of the claim as well. Or, if Medicare denies the claim, then the Medigap Plan will follow and also NOT pay. Hope that helps
As of Nov 7th, 2024, Medicare has not yet released the 2025 Premiums and Deductibles for parts A and B. Currently, the part B deductible is $240 per year
Which plan is administratively easier for customers? I think plan G after the yearly deductible is met. Plan N will have every doctor you met with sending you bills for co-pays.
i’m guessing with my paid amount to have the G plan and their paid for amount for my 2024 costs, the G plan has been very good value for me. $3557 paid by supplement plan thru 9/19/24. $1336 premiums paid thru 9/2024. your opinion? thanks for your videos.
Supplement plans aren't for everyone, but they sure are great! Yes, at the math you provided, you're a great example of someone that is rewarded for having a supplement plan. :)
I am very frustrated with the Medicare & you 2020 booklet i received. (Ohio) it has all the plans mixed together now. HMO, PPO, Advantange. I can't find any PPO that isn't an advantage plan. I don't want an advantage plan. Still searching the booklet. Has anyone else struggled with this? If i can figure it out i will share what i found but so far now simple supplement plans. it use to be sorted as Medigap/supplement plans and advantage plans. any help sorting this would be great!
thanks for watching and yes, the 2025 book can be confusing. Here is a link to the guide we provide or clients, we hope you find it easy to read. In short, Medigap plans remain unchanged (benefits)....the premiums and Medicare deductibles may go up, but we are waiting for those updates still. Regarding Advantage plans, those would be HMO, PPO, PFFS, DSNP and CSNP style plans. Medigap plans are A,C,G,K,L,M,N,HDF, HDG seniorhealthcaresolutions.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/2024-Medicare-101-Educational-Guide_SHS-1.pdf
All I heard in this video was "N", "G", and "Advantage." A chart, a powerpoint, or some type of graphic would have been helpful. Comments like "those who are concerned by their health care costs" would like this. I am concerned about my healthcare premiums. No comparisons were given. Am I going to pay $4000 a year to cover a POSSIBLE $3000 bill. NO.
Thanks for the feedback and for watching. If you are considering Supplement (Medigap) coverage, N and G are the most suitable for most folks. Otherwise, you way want to consider an Advantage plan (like a PPO or HMO), which sounds like could be a better fit for you based on the comment "I dont want to pay $4000 in premium for $3000 in medical bills). Here is a link to a nice chart we have - let us know if we can help more. seniorhealthcaresolutions.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/MedSupp-vs-MAPD-Key-Differences-Infographic_2024.jpg
I think the problem here is with you. If you don’t know ANYTHING about Medicare you should be getting some education before looking at videos about the difference in supplement plans.
@@johnscott2746 Appreciate you watching and the feedback. We have online Medicare 101 workshops that cover all of the basics, from enrollment, eligibility, cost, MedSupp vs. Med Advantage, etc. etc. These SHORT videos are intended to cover 1 topic only. That sounds interesting! Could you share the details of your adviser? I'm urgently in need of one.

I just looked her up, and her credentials are impressive! I've already reached out and scheduled a call for some guidance. Thank you!

Glad you liked it

@@medicarewithmelissaThat helps a lot. Thank you!.
What is the deductible you mention for Plan B? I haven't seen this yet.

Thanks for watching. Plan G is more "set it and forget it". But, did you know there are only 9 billable codes eligible for the $20 copay on plan N?
