1. The guy doing your work has a hard ass head take the money and do the work lmao, 2. That’s your power steering doing that sound I just got done dealing with that same problem

*update* Chopped off the mufflers and I love it. No rasp, no drone and just enough sound.

The mechanic was a dickhead bro. In Miami, my mechanic literally told me before I did my rear mufflers, mid-muffle, and resonator deleted, “we’ll cut the pipe from the resonator first if you don’t like it, we’ll put it back but however you want it, you tell me” he advised me it would be loud and I said fuck it bring it on and he smiled and laughed at it and happily did my job. He charged me $300 gave him $50 in tips
His welds are crappy. Btw Eagle One makes a product to clean the exhaust tips. Works really well

If you get a catback, look at ATLP from heeltoe automotive. Heeltoe is based outside of Portland. Marcus will hook you up. I have ATLP catback installed on my type s and it has a nice deep sport tone with no rasp.

Same thing happened with my TL dude at the shop said the magnaflows wouldn’t do anything. So i left and did it my self the next weekend and made a world of a difference. Resonator and mid delete with magnaflows in the rear
Jose Coreas if the magnaflow muffler makes my 4cylinder accord sound like a beast I’m pretty sure yours sounds like a beast too

I deleted everything after the headers back added a vibrant resonator and 2.5ed everything to the back, sounds like a beast surprisingly not crazy loud but when you step on it or down shift you can feel it
They tried to do that to me when I said I wanted my mid muffler deleted along with the back mufflers they said the back will be fine I told them my money is doing it

The ATLP sounds the best imo, but i like a little quieter. The XLR8 is beautiful and exotic sounding

Did a straight pipe with a Flowmaster super 10 at the mid.
On mine I replaced the resonator with the Dynomax and deleted the Mid Muffler. Mine has no rasp at all and sounds great!
So you replaced the old resonator with a dynomax resonator and did u also get a pipe for the mid muffler delete to replace it?

Donny G Jr he’s probably low on ps fluid. mike made that same noise cause i had a leak so i just replaced the whole rack and pinion and it fixed my problem

I've been running ATLP V2-R J-pipe to 3-inch stainless non resonated custom made mid pipe to stock rear mufflers and I couldn't be happier. I haven't seen a rear muffler setup that I like that looks better than the OE Type-S setup so I'm keeping it that way. Back in it's day it had the nicest looking factory exhaust IMO.
I started with mid muffler/resonator deletes too. I felt like that's how the Type-S should've came from the factory sounding to differentiate it even more over the non Type-S models.
FYI sounds like your O-ring on the return line on your p/s pump is sucking in air causing the noise. If you see a lot of bubbles/foam in your reservoir I bet that's the culprit. Gets louder at lower temps I bet. I replace mine almost every 3 yrs and keep on rolling.

Hey, quick tip I have a type-s as well, to keep the fob of the Acura keys from getting loose, turn the ignition w the logo facing you so the spring in the fob doesn’t get loose

I always face the logo to me on any car with a modular key. I think I heard snobbish BMW drivers started doing this in the 90's but it's a good idea that not many people know about!

I have pre cat deletes third cat delete dynomax resonator stock mid muffler and rear mufflers deleted. Its a little droney but sounds pretty good and once you hit 5k rpms its insanly loud it screams

Hey I know this is a old video, but what is the whine noise exactly? Is it the entire power steering pump? Identical situation I replaced my ring/gasket for the powersteering hoses and it's still whining
I got a 96 RL I have obx heders with straight pipe and a varex exoust for the Muffler/straight pipe I am going to a 3"to 4 Inch I am also running 549 hp and 456.3tq all motor but am planning to twin turbo it soon and maybe push 700 to 800 hp + I will love to race that tl S type I have raced some before thay are fast I really just want to see what's the hype behind the J series If you didn't know the 96-04 Acura RL came with the C series

You need to delete those mufflers and add that resonator on for any throaty/deep sound. The stock mufflers are taking away all the noise haha

on a scale of 1-10 how much louder is it. Im stuck between deleting the mid or the 2 rears. possibly ordering the dynomax 24215 resonator as well
pretty late but I since now have a 6sp tl 06 and I’m doing a mid muffler with that exact same resonator your talking about this coming Monday!
looking back deleting the rears isn’t worth it I’d rather get some magnaflow mufflers and just replace them instead of a straight pipe from the back

Mannnn that's the SAME damn thing they tried telling me at a whole other muffler shop. Said swapping one resonator for another was basically taking one step forward then one step backward. Not in it for the 'maximum' amount of "noise". I like to think of it as ... "tuning the tone" :D

Hey bro sounds good but what is that whine? I just did the mid muffler delete and switched the resonator to a dynomax bullet resonator 12" and it has no rasp but still not too loud. I'm going to delete the rear mufflers soon but keep the stock tips using a y pipe on each side. Oregon local so hmu if u want to hear mine. Your cars so nice though. Props man!

If you would've deleted the mid muffler and both mufflers and left the resonator it would have sounded so much better nice deep tone and not raspy.I did it on my base model 6speed manual tl and love the sound next I'm gonna delete 3rd cat witch I was told would sound even better and then possibly install a J pipe.Btw love your car bro so clean 💪.
