Matt when tapping threads you have to back it out 1/4 turn every 1/2 turn to send the grindings into the flute of the tap
Youre supposed to back off to break the chips off. I use taps almost every day at work and once you start using spiral taps you never want to tap by hand again.
More so on that long thread.
@@tickandslug today i learned that spiral taps exist. TBH i like the 1/2 in, 1/4 out rhythm but that's because i had to tap all of 5 threads in the last year. doing it every day is a different beast

1. Get a welding cap or wear a hat. You WILL develop a bald spot MIG welding without protecting your hair. And it won't grow back.
2. Invest in a transmission jack. They can be used for more then just transmissions and will make pulling diffs and subframes MUCH safer.
i have a e34 trans in my e46 and had the same selector rod problem, the tie ride idea is real smart. i got lucky and cut and welded mine the right length first try😂

The TI doesnt need a full respray just paint the bumper hood roof and small stuff and have someone compound and polish it. way cheaper and it will look better than a shitty paint job
