Great solution! As a Scandinavian, with long distances between shops and low ambient temperatures, I always wanted a tiny non-heated space to stow frozen goods on longer journeys.
I think that gas strut is possibly a bad idea because of the Active Hood technology on the Volkswagen ID.7. With this hood pops open to act as a cushion to help minimise the risk of injury to the pedestrian in case of an accident.
in the event of an accident, the active hood cuts off the hinges and raises the hood on the side of the hinges, so the piston should not affect it, it is attached "in front" not under the windshield where the hood rises.
Great bit of kit, just removed one from my e-Niro as now sold the car but dealer would not pay any extra for me to leave it in, so it will be on E-Bay very soon. really high quality and room for both cables, heavy duty extension lead, warning triangle, gloves, Hi-Viz waste coat, power pack jump starter and still had room for other stuff. I left the gas struts in as no time to remove during the sale but they were also great. I wish my new EV has one or they made one for it.
Great addon! There's a similar aftermarket frunk for the BMW i4, and it's massive-around 40 liters! At least VW had the excuse that a frunk would be too small or not very practical to justify leaving it out.
Hi, great idea ! I'm in the way to buy an ID 7 Tourer, but the lack of frunk is really bad... I will buy this thing for sure ! But maybe not the gas spring because of the active hood like said in other comment.
Seen numerous videos on aftermarket Frunks for VAG cars. I just can’t see the benefit of storing anything there when it’s much more accessible in the back of the car. Charging cable in the front when the charging port is in the back? Why?
when 3rd parties finish your engineering for you. and whilst these are expensive, a small companies making small numbers of injection moulded parts, I get it, injection moulds are not cheap and the first one rarely is perfect
I wish I could buy an ID7 in Canada I don’t understand why they don’t bring it to our country not much faith in VW NA or even VW seems we are an afterthought they promise a lot but don’t deliver
Shouldn't need to spend £40,000 to £60,000 on a car and then have to pay extra for a plastic tray.... Just because the manufacturer is too lazy to design and supply one. For me.... I would simply choose another brand / manufacturer.
I would buy it just for the gas strut !! Can't believe they make an ID7 with a cheap prop

not sure about water and dust if that frunk is not sealed
I have frunk on my Enyaq from them. Works great :)

Does VW have a space saver wheel for ID7 & is there space for it ??
Is it water tight?
Fronk? Not much room. More like tray! Lol. But at least you have a little storage.
Will this work in Finland when the engine room is sometimes full of snow?
Is this approved by the manufacturer in terms of crash safety and insurance?
I doubt that my ID.Buzz can get such a kit. 🙂
Quite excited to see this, until I saw the price. I know they need to make a profit but the utility for the price doesn't work for me sadly.

Tragedy what POS VW is selling for 50k euro! And idiots buy it! I love this Chanel but id7 is a total failure as a car!

Why wasn't VW able to do this at its factory? They are so disappointing...
From temu this would cost ~50 euro?
50k euro car that is made to make its owners look stupid?
Congratz to FauVe snd you :D

I think frunks are pretty useless. I had one in my XC40 during two years of ownership and I think I used it twice
