Have you guys considered Starlink? We are full-time RVers near where you filmed this video. We are stationary but Starlink is relatively mobile at this point. We have zero cell service here so we use wifi calling. I also work full-time from home.
To switch from work to personal time maybe routinely physically doing something to help your brain switch gears.... take a short walk, or change your clothes from "work" to "play", or wash your face.... something that signifies a change. Something small that signifies the end of the work day beginning of personal time. Love seeing how different folks make living full time in a small space work. Thanks for sharing!
Exactly what I was hoping to hear about. Thanks for sharing. I’m guessing the new job has required you to be more creative. But if you’re chasing good weather and have a lovely back yard, it should be worth it. Im living stationary in my RV right now, but plan to be going more remote. Again gracias.
Congrats on the new job, Roe! It’s wonderful to enjoy what you do. Have you considered Starlink? I know it’s an investment upfront but it would allow you to go to those more remote areas.
Technically tent camping is considered dispersed camping as well as long as your not at a campground. It's not what kind of shelter you have that makes it dispersed.
We are very much in the same work situation as you. My wife works full-time for Home Depot (on line customer service) with only Sunday & Tuesday off. We have to strictly schedule our travel days and find areas and campgrounds with good Verizon cell coverage for our internet. As you did, we will likely get a T-Mobile SIM card for our router. Glad to see another couple working similar, and as usual, a great video. BTW, David, I love your solo camping videos.
I work in IT and they sold our office during covid. We bought a motorhome and start snowbirding this winter.:) I plan to use StarLink and LTE router service for work.:)
Rho seems to be glowing now that she has found her purpose. Great choice to have back in somewhat of a structured routine. Your camp site looks awesome.
I recently got Starlink. It's amazing. And roaming is enabled. And you guys camp in lots of open area's. So should work great for you. And there are way's to get it sooner if you do not want to wait.
I'm in the same situation as far as working remotely and only having a Verizon hotspot. So many full timers are getting Starlink. Is this something that you're considering? By the way, we do travel during the week, I work while he drives using the hotspot. Sometimes we have to boost the signal but we bought the equipment before we started this journey. I've been doing this for 3.5 years and have very few issues with connectivity.
Look into getting a Docking station for that laptop. All your cables will go to the docking station and only a single USB connects to the laptop...much simpler for tearing down and setting up!
Nice camp spot, I drive Back-and-forth From Oregon to Modesto quite often and I always seem to stop off in Redding And hike over to the Sundale glass bridge. You guys should check it out.
Any chance you could mount the computer components on the table, so you don't have to break it down to travel? Something like 2 sided tape so if you want to move say the keyboard to eat or kraft, you could.
My wife and I (and 3 small kids… and a cat) are traveling full time and my wife works remotely. Her shifts change so the hours and days aren’t the same so planning trips is a bit tough and also having 3 kids under 5 while trying to take phone calls can be a bit of a challenge in a 30ft trailer haha.
Would love to try the Bison!! The eating/work area definitely makes living in an RV very difficult. Hopefully you can figure out a better solution! Safe travels!
You need to get Roe a free busy light, or something like Stream Deck. This will help to notify when video conferencing or on phone. I have the same issue with home office and family so not just a RV issue but life is easier when you can close the door for work.
I had a friend who had a hand drawn picture of a nature scene taped to her monitor. What she would do, is she would flip the picture over the back of the monitor when she needed to use the computer, and when she was done she would flip it back over to cover the screen. Maybe something like that could help with the transition from work to home.
We have been full time for a year and a half. For the first year I was working and my husband wasn’t. Now we both work full time. I so relate to the restrictions like needing to move on the weekends. We started our full time journey in a smaller trailer. After four months I had enough of sitting in the dinette all of the time. We saw a larger trailer with reclining seats and a dinette and we were sold. We ripped out the dinette and added two side by side desks which work great but we also have to pack everything up and lay it on the bed. So I relate with that too. Great video as always!
Great video. I recommend waxing every quarter too. Protects the finish from every seasons issues, and road grime. Also, Starlink is the way to go. My wife also works from home. Terrific to finish work and then leave the “house” and go for a walk together. Greatly helps to shift gears, and also reconnecting time together.
Well, I'm lying in bed, listening to Pink Floyd, and watching Chef Hubby prepare an epic meal. I never thought of bison meat being used for New York strip. That sounds good! And the asparagus and taters to go with it. 😋
Hey guys! I wanted to ask what hotspot and plan you have for your internet thorugh T-Mobile. I live in a remote area of Texas with no internet connection and no ISPs service this area. If you could let me know I would really appreciate it! Or even a video on it showing us for those of us who are looking for that. I look forward to see what more you guys do!
That bison looks delicious!! Thanks for sharing y’all’s experience working while in the road. I know when we take long road trips it’s hard for me to find that time to get work done. It usually happens when the kids take naps.
We can totally relate to a lot of your remote working descriptions! TK used to work a 9-5 and remembers cramming travel days on weekends. She still tutors virtually, and Earl has to tiptoe around when a lesson is in session. Really afraid to get to adventurous with our stays, too, because we fear not having internet. We've had a few stays where internet was spotty and a few stays (thankfully short) with no internet and/or no cell service at all!
Nice! We both work fulltime for about 2.5 years in our class a. We don't Boondock during the week and our travelling also has to be planned carefully. One thing that is also hard is gaming is one of our big hobbies, so after a long day, it can be hard on our bodies to do another 3-4 hours of gaming at the computer. That and when we have meetings scheduled at the same time, but we've made it work so far! We aren't too far north of you right now (Klamath Falls, OR).
My husband and I have a similar situation. We’ve been living in our Travel Trailer for 2 years now. I’ve worked full time remotely the whole time, and every once in awhile he still comes in talking to me and I’m on a call. I know the “shh” look well. 🤣 Glad to see you both in a video, keep up the good work.
You are actually in Northern California. You are not far from me! If ur planning on coming down to the Sacramento area please lmk I’d love to meet up with you! Been following you guys for a couple years now. Great vid!
Suggestion, T-Mobile is now offering home wireless Wi-Fi……unlimited data. Unit is the size of an oatmeal box and just plugs in. We already had T-mobile phones because of the international free texting and internet, so we dropped cable internet and went with the wireless hone T-mobile. What is nice is I just unplug it and put it in the RV. When we stop for the night, we plug it in and it automatically finds a T-mobile signal if available. So far if the phone has a signal the Wi-Fi has a signal. And the range on the unit for broadcasting is amazing…..far better than a hot spot. Right now I think it’s also $50 per month with unlimited data.
When I started RV'n fulltime at the end of 2020, I took both Verizon and AT&T phones plans with me just to be certain I would have options for cell service and working remotely. I found that throughout my travels out west through New Mexico, Arizona, California, Nevada, Utah, Idaho, Washington, Montana, South Dakota, Colorado... in each of these places AT&T is always way better for data service over Verizon. Verizon was mostly useless and I was staying in RV parks not BLM. I got rid of my Verizon plan and just have AT&T now.
Love your top Roe..where did you get it? Also what headset are you getting that is noise canceling? Tried blue parrot but I didn’t like it or thought it worked well enough.
We spent this winter mostly in Lake Havasu but in the area I noticed that my T-Mobile coverage was night and day better than my wife's Verizon, my phone showed a 5G signal where Verizon had no signal. The only issue is when we go back East after a year of being away I'm not sure what will happen. Currently we have 1 line on Visible for $25 a month and 2 lines on T-mobile 55+ plan for $90 a month, one SIM I just use in my mobile router
You two are too cute! I WFH and have since March 2020. We are making the change to RV life soon so this video is something I have needed to hear. Having a steady signal is required for my job .. good signal.. because all my work is video/Teams-based and VPN is required. Roe-I struggle with WLS, too! You have to make a concerted effort to make that separation - hard to do sometimes. Thanks for the info!
Thicc😎👍
Wanna try that bison yum
Have you guys considered Starlink? We are full-time RVers near where you filmed this video. We are stationary but Starlink is relatively mobile at this point. We have zero cell service here so we use wifi calling. I also work full-time from home.
Been on the starlink wait list for two years now, even made the deposit. We use an AT&T mobile router with 100 gigs a month till we get starlink.
hey!!!!!!!!!!! this a year old! are u guys
still on here
Really enjoyed this video. David we always enjoy your videos but super excited to see Roe in this one too. Miss you guys, safe travels.
Strong Internet ! That’s my big worry
Have you been hacked?

put some seasoning on that thing.
Do you still use teen mobile not starlink???
Do you travel after work ever?
Exactly what I was hoping to hear about. Thanks for sharing. I’m guessing the new job has required you to be more creative. But if you’re chasing good weather and have a lovely back yard, it should be worth it. Im living stationary in my RV right now, but plan to be going more remote. Again gracias.
Are you guys still on the road making videos these days anymore?
Nomad internet is a great way to go
Congrats on the new job, Roe! It’s wonderful to enjoy what you do.
Have you considered Starlink? I know it’s an investment upfront but it would allow you to go to those more remote areas.
For an additional fee of 25.00/month, they have a roaming plan that provides excellent bandwidth

I let AT&T go because their signal were so bad almost anywhere since 5G even if my phone indicated 5G 5bars
Is David working now? Haven't seen a new video for over a year now. Hope you re all ding well, pets included. We miss you on You Tube!
Thank you Lorraine! We've got a surprise for you and many others coming soon 🙂
@@FateUnbound Yay!!

Have you checked out Starlink? Basically get awesome signal anywhere you go!

Good to see both of you together in a Vlog.
Have a few folding t.v.trays for eating.

Re-engineer your desktop to save travel time.
Mount everything in a "quick close-up" configuration. Necessity is,...
That bison looks amazing. Reminded me I've got some venison that I need eat.
Nice camp spot, I drive Back-and-forth From Oregon to Modesto quite often and I always seem to stop off in Redding And hike over to the Sundale glass bridge. You guys should check it out.
👍👍. Do you still think a cell booster in needed? You still use one?
Starlink is the answer. We boondocks all over and it is fast and reliable.
David would never pay that much. Guys way to tight but I have heard nothing but good things about Starlink.
When you coming back?
@Jamesgeeee what happened to them?

How did you find your remote job?
One word...Starlink
hw is it going?- yo.that's excellent .dude-;))

So nice to see both your faces again!
Awesome to see you guys again!
I hear starlink is a game changer.
Thanks for a great video. Happy that you two are doing well and Ro is enjoying her remote job. Take care. 💕from Ky.

hey stop by the redding fish hatchery, it is cool☺
Rho seems to be her cheerful self again. Nice to see you two find a new rhythm to Rho's new work, UA-cam and having fun together.

Get a cool "on air" sign
3:21 Just curious, would Flex Seal or Flex Tape serve this maintenance need? The guy on TV is enthusiastic about the Flex products! 😊
I’ve used Flexsteel products. I find them very good for water resistant coatings.

I belive they got a divorce and are no longer camping.

Hi Roe!!
Have you thought about getting a Clam screen tent? You get get an extra room that way. We don't full time RV, but we love ours
I may have missed a previous episode, but I’m curious as to why Ro took a job. I’m guessing it was purely financial (maybe medical insurance)?
I think they said that she just prefers the routine of working for an employer.
That bison looks delicious!! Thanks for sharing y’all’s experience working while in the road. I know when we take long road trips it’s hard for me to find that time to get work done. It usually happens when the kids take naps.
Your custom bison link gives: 404 It looks like nothing was found at this location. (I think if you remove the trailing slash it will work)
Thanks for catching that @swinglingbrain
I'll double-check our end to make sure we didn't mess something up.
@@Thehonestbison-grassfed The link looks like it's working now for me. Thx.
Time for a 5th wheel.
Love the video, but sure do miss Roe's streams. I know she is working hard at her full time job.. just miss you guys streaming :)

Starlink just announced a $25 extra portability fee!
Hope your summer went well
I'm in Southwestern CA. There is allot of dispersed camping here. Plus plenty of primitive camp spot on the property here too
Roe so glad to see you!!!!! You look awesome hope to see you more
So good seeing Roe!!!
Miss you both, I hope you all are doing well. I know its been a while, but just wanted to say Hi and I hope you both are happy!

Yes campground wifi is terrible! I don't think we have found a stable strong connection at one yet.

Interesting vlog. It's nice to combine travel and work.
I have a company computer and a personal computer. When my work day is done, I shut the lid on my work computer. That helps to create separation.
