Vogue , the illustration years will cover the first forty years of Vogue Magazine. Before the constant use of photography, illustration was the way to depict fashion. This video will talk about George Plank, Georges Lepape, Helen Dryden, Eduardo Garcia Benito and Carl Erickson.

Well done. Vogue, like many other publications, lost a lot when they abandoned illustration. I'm not sure if they made that shift to lower costs or to follow the trend, or both. Now the magazine is more about ugly faux-art photography than fashion or anything else, with the possible exception of celebrities. Today's Vogue does not hold a candle to the Vogue of the illustration era.

Interesting, and nicely explained....
However, the way the photographs are done ( slideshow ).. some of the images are done so quick, they aren't really seen, some are only " partial " , because they are done starting at the bottom to the top. Just observations, it detracts from the topic .
