      Yea, but there is still so much that needs to happen before this bike reaches its full potential.

    Your Valentino Rossi helmet looks awesome. You guys should make kits for these bikes which people can buy. Very good workmanship.

      Once we have a successful setup we will be able to sell components that make the setup on our WORX site.

    Few questions, what is the current total wet weight of the superbike, what tire sizes do you run, and does the front fairing stay bolt up to the factory fairings? Thanks, keep up the great work!

    • @TSTindustries
      @TSTindustries  6 років тому +1

      I cannot disclose the weight of the bike just yet because we will do an episode called "R3 on a diet" soon. You will have to watch that episode to find out. The current tires we are using are Pirelli Supercorsa 110 front, 140 rear. The fairing bracket will bolt up to some of the factory fairings but there is nothing there to hold your headlight so technically it will be of no use to you on a street machine.

  • @RhinoDan

    Hi Bart I would be interested in the DB holders fairings stay. The OEM isn't that great and I do have my bars hitting the cluster.
    As for the engine stuff yeah it's sucks and I am sure once you guys get it figured out this R3 is going to be a little Rocket.

    • @TSTindustries
      @TSTindustries  6 років тому +1

      We are considering bringing in the fairing stays for our website. We will announce that if and when we decide to move forward.
      The engine stuff doesn't suck so bad. This is a great learning opportunity for us, and adds drama to our show. We anticipated difficulties in this development since we are paving a brand new road with it. I haven't heard of any other company going this far with an R3. So it is going to take some extra R&D but we will get there.

    • @RhinoDan
      @RhinoDan 6 років тому

      TSTindustries For sure you will on the engine development. It will take some time and some R&D to get her square away. Also I am waiting on Greg Spear's to develop the maps for the air box mods for the R3 and now it's legal in Moto America maybe the other race organizations will follow suit.
      I haven't seen the Dyno numbers on the air box mod but is supposed to be a good amount of boost in air flow.
      I hope you guys do decide to sell the fairing stay. I am also interested in the triple tree clamps
      When it's out of the beta stage's.
      Your right it's does adds to the drama with the engine build plus the suspension troubles.

    Sorry if this is ignorance or if you’ve covered this before. If a main focus of this build is for weight reduction what made you go with the Yoshimura slip on? The Akrapovic GP slip on is exponentially smaller. I feel like the full system would still be smaller than the Yoshimura

    • @TSTindustries
      @TSTindustries  6 років тому +2

      We actually did answer a similar question in another video already. We had to make some compromises in this build but this is always the case when building a race bike. Our engineers felt that from the array of exhausts available to us from our partner companies, the Alpha-T was the optimal choice. It may be a little heavier than Akrapovic but other tradeoffs made it more appealing to us.

      TSTindustries Awesome! Sorry for making you reiterate things you’ve already covered. I had the Akra GP (and a bunch of TST parts) back when I had my R3 and loved the look and sound of it. Love the build, and look forward to what you guys have in store!

    why dont you guys try and use a aluminium swingarm instead of the stock one, and what about swapping out those stock forks with something from a CBR250rr , you can source these forks from thailand easily and for cheap!

    • @TSTindustries
      @TSTindustries  6 років тому +1

      It's not that easy. This is on our radar but we were going to use RC390 front setup. The problem with that is that KTM does not sell individual parts. If you crash you have to buy an entire fork leg, disassemble it to rework it for aftermarket internals, then assemble. This means that we have to buy a bunch of front ends to have spare parts. Getting the CBR parts from Thailand is better because I can get individual replacement parts, but being that I'm purchasing from another country, there are still challenges added with that. I am hoping to find a suitable replacement front end here but haven't had success yet. At the moment we are focusing on making this bike rideable so we can get some podiums, and come back to the drawing board later.

      The forks on the BMW 310r are nice upside down units with replacement parts and some aftermarket is starting to make things for them.

    All of their bikes were slow as shit at Daytona.

    • @TSTindustries
      @TSTindustries  6 років тому +2

      Considering our R1 was retired on the first day due to mechanical issues and our R3 in this video was using a stock motor with no work done, yes, they were quite slow.
