    • @asimmehmoodzia1991
      @asimmehmoodzia1991  5 років тому

      Hi Dennis. Only wooden bed will be there but you may have to arrange mattress. Sometime it's there and sometime it's not. The common living room and kitchen in the video is togather. The one I show is small but it's enough for 5-7 people. In the university the Internet is included in the fee you've paid for your studies. For room Internet you have to pay and it's not expensive. They run footbal matches on TV (if there is one in common room) otherwise you have to see it online. I hope the answers will help you :)

All are good and preferable as being a student. Nydalahojden is a good option too but I'll prefer others.

      Thank you salma for the compliment. You get a room via Bostaden or in an apartment via different FB pages. On such FB pages people post their ads of any vacant room in their apartment/ or full apartment (you can also get an apartment from Bostaden). I will suggest get the room from wherever you can get. Housing is a problem in Sweden. Its much better if you get a room via bostaden. In this way you are in full control and will not face any sharing problem.

      Sweden is a very safe country. Don't be afraid. Umea is a beautiful city with lot of students from different countries. I myself have friends from Turkey with whom Ive studied in the same university. University itself has no dorms. You can find room on famous housing company: www.bostaden.umea.se or you can also join FB groups where people posts available room/apartments in Umea. In winter it does get cold but don't worry. Everything is centrally heated. And they say Its never a bad weather, its clothes. Halal meat is available on stores but then you have to cook by yourself :) because eating out is little expensive. Every kind of oil is available so food is no problem. But, of course it will be not like Turkey. In crux, relax and chill. You will enjoy your stay in Umea. Let me know if you want to know more :)

      Summer is like heaven on earth. In winter it's snowy & the temperature can drop up till - 25C. But, they have wonderful system. Almost everything is centrally heated. Inside room you can even wear t-shirt. No need of warm clothes. It's just outside when you need to wear warm clothes.

      Thanks mudassar. Getting a job in Umea needs some patience, continuous search and while being active in your social circle. Sooner or later people do get student jobs. Jobs like in restaurant, cafe, hotels, cleaning companies, newspaper etc.

    How much are the per day charges for the room?

    • @asimmehmoodzia1991

      As per my info, you will not get student room on daily bases. It's on monthly bases so as charges. You can get a room on daily bases if you book via airbnb/hostel/hotel or if someone subletting his/her apartment/room.

    Hello Asim,thanks for that reply but i have two questions for you;,between Umea and Gothenburg which city would you advise someone to choose?the two look really good but Umea from my research looks less populated than Gothenburg and is student friendly,Secondly are there part time jobs for students in companies to do as they study in Umea?I realised In gothenburg there are really plenty of jobs for part time for students to do as they study is the same true for Umea?

    • @asimmehmoodzia1991
      @asimmehmoodzia1991  5 років тому

      Well both the cities have their own advantages. You are right. Umea is more student friendly. It is a small city and everything is easily accessible. You don't have to travel a lot. Its more calm because of less population & traffic. People of course can find part time jobs in umea. Gothenburg is big and you will have more part time job options as compare to Umea. But as its a big city you may have to travel more etc. Now thing is what kind of cities you like and your plans. If you are a big city guy then go for Gothenburg. But if you are not then of course you can come to Umea.
