Our commitment to Truth and Reconciliation

On National Indigenous People's Day in 2024, ISSofBC launched its Truth and Reconciliation Strategy, a multi-year plan and commitment to improving the knowledge of Indigenous history and culture among newcomers in British Columbia, and ISSofBC staff.
As a first of its kind, the Strategy includes the detailed and measurable steps that ISSofBC will take to build relationships with Indigenous leaders and organizations and work with Indigenous Peoples to educate newcomers and ISSofBC staff on Canada's true history in relation to its various Indigenous Peoples.
