Yes, I’m self-taught too (UA-cam accredited 🤣🤣) The piece of yarn attached to your bobbin is called a LEADER (and yes, best that it’s acrylic!) I started off on an Ashford traditional, but due to a leg injury the constant treadling really affected my leg… so I HAD to (😬) get an E-spinner! That came with jumbo-sized bobbins, but as I had all the small bobbins from the other wheel I wanted some way to use them also on my E-spinner…so, I have adapted the tension cord to fit both sizes of bobbin… AND made “guards” just as you have done with your sour cream lid!!!! (Great minds think alike 👍)
😆 🤣 I am starting to notice that my treading foot isn't happy after a few hours and I just said to Chris (hubby) that I think it would be smart to start looking for a decent e spinner.... do you have an ashford one? They are so pricey new, but I have been watching for a good used one.
