I think discrimination might get worse. Lack of manners, irresponsibility, no social ability, sensitive. I’ve heard some city schools are completely dysfunctional.
Yeah I'm 31 I have an alpha and I truly don't know what he says day to day and he is one who doesn't have a phone, I limit tv but he goes to friend's homes and at school he said his classmates watch videos in school on the phones on UA-cam watching w.e I feel for the educators and also I agree my son doesn't wanna be outside he wants to stay inside and I just feel for these kids it's sad I keep trying to work with him
Being on the older side of Gen Z (Born in 1999), I'm grateful to have grown up in a period where I got a healthy mix of screen time and no screen time, giving more opportunities for socialization and learning. What might have helped me was scheduled and limited amount of screen time and a reward system my parents made. For example, if I got all my work early in the day, I could spent the rest of the day on electronics. Now as a college student, I've been implementing that reward system and it's been helping me have a better work ethic.
My parents did something similar. The only electronics I had from age 0-13 were a Wii-U a Wii. They were both highly regulated. I could only spend an hour a day on either at maximum. I loved playing with my siblings and neighbors all day every day outside or with toys.
I'm on the younger side (2007) but I had the completely same experience. We only played on our tablets when we COULDN'T play with friends. Even on winter, we would rather make our way to eachothers houses and play than sit and use our electronics. You just can't replicate the reality of hanging out with your friends with an ipad, or any other electronic for that matter.
I'm a teacher and I can absolutely confirm that kids' ability to read has been decreasing. Some have such a hard time with it that they just don't absorb any of the curriculum and it's frightening. Not to mention how rampant behavioral problems have become. I was a menace in school but I was an outlier. There are whole classes of kids who can't function in a classroom environment now.
My 5th class teacher has survived half a year of my class (thankfully) but there's a friend group and they are so loud and annoying they talk back and talk every living second of school its sad to see it happen
MY MANS, you are not alone. my class last year was... "hell" wouldn't even come close to describing it. nobody shut up! i remember me and ONE other guy were the only lads who would consistently be quiet. twice, i and my mate got punished for what they did. i switched class mid-year, thank god. edit: french middle school, or "collége". that was 4éme. dont know what that translates into in US school system.
I was born in 2010 and am now in 8th grade, I live in Canada, and my area doesn't have middle school.. The K-3 grade students don't act up, they know when to say sorry, their communication skills aren't very delayed. I don't know if my school is lucky or what, but it really isn't that bad other than a couple of kids. The Grade 4-8s are also fine.
As a 7th grader, it’s kind of sad to see what some of my classmates do sometimes. A recent example was when one of them were playing games on their Chromebook while we had like 6 assignments due soon. As a kid, I was a typical gen Z/alpha, not really listening to my parents, but these kids who literally talk back to their parents and teachers have to grow up and realize that they won’t be babied for eternity.
You are most likely A gen z since gen Z ended in 2012 and your in seventh grade and happy summer I was in 7th grade too and going to 8th grade after this summer
I have a neighbor with two little kids who are sort of gen alpha. And I gotta say. They are great parents. They make their kids only have 1 hour a day of electronics. They are involved in sports and boy scouts. And they are almost always outside. And this is probably the best way to raise a kid. Props to them.
Even Boy Scouts ain’t safe, there are still some kids that aren’t exactly normal kids. One prime example from my own experiences ( currently assistant senior patrol leader, the senior patrol leader and one of the other assistants go away for summer camp to be a counselor so either I or the third assistant take over so I get more experience with these kids ) are one kid who has facial hair reminiscent of a child predator, is a furry, is a discord mod, starts fights with people who make jokes about him even though he created a running joke in the troop for committing actual hat crimes against gingers, and posts on DeviantArt as if the rest wasn’t bad enough. There’s also a kid with ginger hair that hits younger scouts with his staff like an anime protagonist and is kinda emo. There’s two more gingers, but neither of them cause trouble, except for slight anger issues in one and the other one stabbing another kid with a pumpkin carving knife through his fingernail to the other side of his finger, which was an accident. There’s some kid that got kicked out for SA’ ing a minor, and one hits people over the head with a metal water bottle when he loses in manhunt. The one that loses at manhunt also proceeds to cry about 30 times more violently than the kid that almost got a concussion. Just tell your neighbors kids to be careful and they’ll make it to Eagle rank just fine.
I'm a late Gen Z (2009) and I was BAFFLED when I heard that 7th graders could hardly read at a 3rd grade level. I could read when I was two, so I genuinely feel bad for those students and the teachers.
I was also born in 2009 and now as a freshman even tho my school is better than most of the other ones everybody is still way dumber than at my middle school
Although it is true that a lot of seventh graders cannot read now, it’s been rumored lately that it does slightly depend on your region for whatever reason. For example, according to my younger sister, (8th grade) the current seventh graders in our area seem to read fine. Not sure why this, is but it depends
If you're intellectually curious and self-aware, it's an amazing time to be a kid; you can soak-up so much knowledge. But if you're lazy and disengaged, you'll become an even more broken human then any generation has produced previously.
i was that gen z kid. it was cool and all, being a nerd with access to infinite knowledge, but kinda isolating when you realize you're the only one who finds those sorts of things engrossing
Idk about yall, but I actually like doing research (about stuff I like ofc) and having the knowledge is so cool, it was this way from childhood. As a Gen Z I feel my creativity has been stifled due to my aversion towards things that are difficult to learn at first. Like blender, I dreamed of making pre-rendered shit but blender is like trying to navigate a CoD ghosts map. With Gen Alpha I feel that their creativity will be even more stifled because of the way they were raised, basically no attention span and the such.
@@magice3494So true, you want to make friend but tf you gonna do with them. Watching how the ISS being built, how to build a PC, ... Most of them dont even care tf about knowledge, just tik tok trend
Despite being gen alpha, instead of watching skibidi toilet, my parents thankfully did the right thing. I grew up reading books and playing with toys. The problem is not gen alpha. It’s their parents. If parents at least limited their screen time and took time to care for their children, we wouldn’t complain about their generation nearly as much
2 core's in a child's baby and toddler stages is the parents and the environment. being strict is not necessarily bad, however you need to find a balance in that strictions as a parent, being too soft on strictions can lead to a child becoming spoiled and even be what many Gen Alpha kids are, being too strict can make a child's life feel locked and cold, which can create depression. Environments also play a cruciel role, not as cruciel as parenting, but it gives an outlook of their world. A child friendly environment can of course allow the child to be themselves, learn, develope, and imagine. A cold and dark environment doesn't allow a child to see the world as something ever growing, but something dark and hostile.
parents don’t have an easy life, it’s busy for them and they do need to do better to spend quality time with their children, but that god awful brainrot toilet does NOT DESERVE TO EXIST. it has contributed to the fall of gen alpha while the creator faced no consequences whatsoever and youtube did nothing to prevent this garbage from harming the social and educational development of gen alpha.
As a person apart of Gen Z that was born in 2008, I’m glad I was able to actually have a real childhood and not being glued to a tablet 24/7. While yes, I did have electronics as a young kid, I’m glad I at least grew up in a time where I wouldn’t cry even if I didn’t have it for 3 seconds. It’s honestly just sad knowing how screwed Gen Alpha is when it comes to this kind of stuff.
@@DarkMelon255Gen Z and millenial parents aren't doing a great job in general, but now there's information on how parenting should look like if you want your kid to grow a fully functioning adult (respectful parenting) I hope it gets more popular since the information we have is for us to evolve into the best generation (physically and mentally healthy)
As a living person using the internet, i am obliged to share my possibly biased shitty opinion: I remind everyone that every single generation thinks they are more intelligent than the previous generations and wiser than all the next ones. This has been true for centuries, if not millenia. And this video is just one of the instances of the cycle happening. And yes, in my opinion, this will happen again. Gen Alpha will eventually grow up and poop the same way on the younger generations
@@samy7342 Maybe if our parents would have raised us like people, we would've turned out better. Instead the grandparents before them are the only people teaching us valuable life skills, from personal experience.
As an old Zoomer I'm really glad my parents actually cared for my wellbeing and didn't let me have a phone or unrestricted internet access until I was around 13. My cousins are both iPad kids and they are pretty much exactly like what you described. Gen Alpha is so fucked...
describing the entirety of a generation becuase of a minor group of people is BS. you can argue that skibidi toilet kids are like hundreds of millions, but in my defense, Gen alpha is billions. you wouldnt think an african child would have a phone and saying skibidi toilet?
I am 17, my brother is 15. We did not get our first device until we were both 10 years old, we did not have internet access and our parents downloaded games like Fruit Ninja, Minecraft and Subway Surfers. We did not get internet access until we were 13. I hated it at the time, but now I am definitely greatful for my parents doing that.
I honestly feel bad for them. They can’t control the content their parents make them consume because they are still learning about the world. It ends up becoming the norm for them. Hopefully they are smart enough to know how we screwed up on them and try to fix the next gen
??? no, the problem is that that ISN'T happening; kids just have the open internet of horrors at their fingertips, and it's so hard for the parents to limit what they watch to something actually good and appropriate since the internet is so huge and their will always be something they could see that they shouldn't
@@WafflesssFallingthey could limit it by simply monitoring and limiting their time spent on the internet. supervised internet access is pretty harmless
As a gen A, I will try my hardest to work up on gen Z's mistakes and try to teach the rest of my generation how to NOT commit the same mistakes our parents committed (giving us a phone and internet access at an early age).
My daughter is a late gen Alpha. She has never had an iPad or anything similar (she can only use mine to talk to her grandparents.) She plays with her toys/blocks/books nicely and quietly no problem. Now she’s just a toddler so she’s easily occupied but I plan to hold tough on this, it’s absolutely worth it! All I have to do is get a little creative(yesterday I put a couple boxes together to make a little fort and had her use markers and crayons to decorate it.)4 hours of fun for a few boxes. Awesome! Edit: I forgot to close my parentheses because I’m a donut. 🍩 😂
thank you for raising your daughter nicely. I just pray for when she enters Pre-K or kindergarten (1st grade for some) I hope that the teachers and the students don’t mess with her brain and for her to become a really smart girl. It is really creative how you were able to put together something for your daughter to be entertained with.
@@Munchkit Oh thank you it’s something my mom did with me. I also plan on fully homeschooling my children, as I have the same thoughts about the educational system.
as gen alpha i 100% disagree. i'm an older gen alpha kid and i grew up with late 2000s and early 2010s stuff. like omds generation is just an age group you're put in NOT how you act.
Gen Alpha really interests me. There's so many different factors that contribute to how they turned out the way they did. They were raised in the era of the "competitive" internet, with tons of people and organizations fighting to get your attention. Their developing years were interrupted by COVID, making them stay at home and resort to being online since they couldn't socialize. Some of the parents of the generation may be considered too lenient for trying to not be overly strict, which might lead to the kids misbehaving a lot. It's just so interesting to see how different our generations can be in this rapidly changing world
Yeah. My childhood was about a decade ago but there was still phones and such, and I always wanted to be on some device on the table and in the car, and when they said no I was usually mad, not as much of a tantrum that kids do these days though, and now I get why my parents said no, because when I see a little kid at a restaurant complaining about wanting an iPad, and then their parents agreeing to do it, I get kind of annoyed. If anything, it’s mostly the parent’s fault for not being strict enough.
I am in fact a middle schooler in the year of 2023, and I’ve seriously seen teachers break down crying. Back in the first day of math class in seventh grade, no one was paying attention, everyone was screaming, and the teacher literally quit. That was her first day teaching, mind you. I can’t say I blame her, though. I had a substitute for like 3 months of seventh grade math. I didn’t learn anything.
I can't imagine going through all that schooling to become a teacher, and then experiencing that on your first day. I hope she found somewhere she's respected...
I’m in year 12 (UK) and the opposite problem is present in our classes. The students all lie slumped over their desks and don’t participate, and they check their phones constantly. They’re bored and silent and sleep-deprived, and many of them never read or have no hobbies because all they do is stare at their phones like zombies. It’s awful.
@@user-ui7tn1fq2b As a year 11 (1ere, french equivalent), it's just straight up impossible to not be sleep deprived? I end up sleeping near ~1 am
@@irxosm1 Having classes until 6:00 pm is really nuts, but I kinda wish that my classes started at 8:00 am, mines start a bit earlier at 7:20 am so I usually have to wake up at 5:30 to be on time, granted I'm in high school, not sure what the French equivalent would be but its usually for people 14 - 18
I am a millennial born in 1993. I'm raising a gen alpha who is 9 now and let me tell you. We may feel like gen alpha is "lost" due to excessive screen time. However rasing a gen alpha I definitely feel like my child is very well adjusted and mentally mature. Parenting techniques are so different now instead of me telling at my daughter or hitting her when she is bold like my parents did we me. I actually talk to her correct her and let her know that what she has done is wrong. She is a very good child who feels like she can actually talk to me when she is going through a difficult time and we will come up with a solution to make things better. I never got this growing up we were told to figure it out or stop complaining. They now have adults who actually listen to them, encourage them and support them, both at home and in school
wow it's almost like treating and raising your children like actually sentient creatures will make them behave more and more like actual sentient creatures when they grow up! amazing, who could've thought?
2002 gen z here and I 100% agree, honestly I think this should be more about bad parenting than a "bad generation" if that makes sense. bad parenting will lead to kids who aren't well-adjusted and that's to blame on the parents' generation, not the kids'. instead of hating on a generation that doesn't even know how to do taxes yet I feel we should acknowledge that as older people we have a direct responsibility to guide them in the right direction to the best of our ability and set a good example for them to follow.
Shout out to the kids born in the early 2000s who didn't use phones or the internet 24/7, and played outside with their friends, or played local multiplayer with their siblings to pass the time. Those are the real ones
As a person born in late Gen Z (2009), I can say that I'm so grateful that I actually had a childhood. Yes, I was given an iPad as a kid, but I was still given restrictions, such as only using it after finishing all my homework. In my elementary school, teachers literally forced us to play outside at lunch and recess, and banned iPads during break times. Literally every child in the school hated that rule, but now I understand why the teachers made it. And am I glad that they did. My friends and I actually enjoyed running around during recess and lunch, played games and just had a good time together without a screen in front of us. I still remember being so excited to play with my friends after school, and sometimes we even stayed outside until sunset. Minus a couple hours of screen time each day, I feel like I had a very millennial-like childhood, and I am so grateful for that. I'm just scared for what Gen Alpha will become..
I just turned 18, and from what I can tell, a big difference from the childhoods of pre-gen alpha and gen alpha is creativity. As simple as that sounds, it's crucial to a developmental childhood. As a kid, I was made to be creative and imaginative most of the time, while it's visual art, and playing with others or alone. Sure I did play video games, but the games I played were usually old 1990s/2000s platformers, or a childhood favourite of mine like Spore. Nor did I have a phone until I was a teenager. However, there's a stark contrast as to how many kid's entertainment today is often confined to watching meaningless and uninspired videos. I'm of course not saying all kids today are like that, but it is without a doubt an ongoing trend that has many consequences. Shorter attention spans, less ability in being creative, hindered imagination, and more. What's more is that in a suburb, I rarely see kids being kids outside. And if they are, they're watching stuff on an iPad. I can only hope that parents will take more action to introduce creativity into their child's life.
My sister was born in 2011 (early gen alpha, I believe?) She used to love going outside and exercising everyday, she was really eager to do activities and socialize with people but was told not to because our parents (gen X) weren’t available to watch them play outside. Fast forward a few years, she completely refuses to go out of her room or talk to anyone other than her discord friends at all. Now our parents are wondering what they did wrong, it’s painfully obvious to me because I’ve been there too. Now this will definitely not apply to every cases, but my point is that parent negligence can be a huge factor for how their children act (Btw we’re slowly getting better, going outside and communicating more)
Most criticisms of the next generation by the previous is often dismissed as the previous generation being out of touch and getting upset at what they don’t understand, but this is the first time where I genuinely feel that these criticisms are 100% valid. I am _very_ concerned for Gen Beta when they show up.
The segment at 7:59 really hit me hard, Am a Gen Z (2007) and I am the youngest in a family of 6 (excluding in-laws and cousins) so I got to see my bros and my sister get families of their own. My brothers SWEARED to not make their kids completely glued to an ipad and they did good...my sister on the other hand...she missed the mark to say the least. 7:59 described my nephew (my sis' son) scarily accurate. He recently turned 8th but he acts like he is 5 especially when you try to take his ipad away. My sis told me multiple times that she was punched by him on multiple occassions just for taking away his ipad or refusing to buy the 20th skibid toilet toy he saw on Amazon. He was exposed to the internet way too early on and it made him a spoiled kid. He has a collection of toys- probably numbering in the thousands! that he doesn't touch. The entire family agrees with the sentiment that he is a spoiled kid and my sis and bro-in-law is trying their best to encourage him to do things like, Playing outside or meeting friends. Whenever I interact with my nephew he is always too glued to the phone/ipad and I have to go out of my way to LITERALLY wave my hand in front of his face to get his attention and when I do get his attention whatever he wants to talk about is the stereotypical Gen Alpha stuff. Backrooms, Cocomelon. Skibidi Toilet- the list goes on. He just has this really weird addiction to Skibidi Toilet in particular; for halloween he dressed up as a toilet and for his recent 8th birthday it was skibidi toilet themed. No words can describe the whiplash I experienced when I walked into that birthday venue and I saw cardboard cutouts of cameramen and toilets everywhere. I just feel so bad
As the youngest in my family myself(excluding cousins and shit like that) and since i have a older sister whos 19 years old, that means that i am somehwere soon to see her have actual kids, and i swear to fucking god, if the kid or kids are like that... i am going in fucking sane.
i genuinely think gen alpha could be great if their parents would just stop allowing their children to watch their ipads 24/7 without monitoring the content
@@kompasta I am saying this from a hands on experience, I hate telling my age, but for the sake of this video I will. I was born at the end of gen z, but the start of gen alpha. From a first hand experience, the majority of gen alpha (and late gen z), is slop, but not everyone. Me and 2 of my friends are very above the others, yet we all are very unsocial when we’re not with other kids our age. The pandemic caused a lot of damage to our development, I was it 4th grade when it happened, as a result, I never learned how to hold a pencil correctly, cursive, or socializing. It was very difficult after the pandemic, but for me it was paradise. The majority of kids watched TikTok or other brain rot, but not all. Very few kids used the time to learn and improve. It was great for me, I was able to learn coding, watch science videos, learn graphic design, and so much. In between classes, I was able to learn and become better, and at lunch, instead of talking with my friends, I could spend my time doing educational things. Me and my friends became very educated with the entire knowledge of the internet to learn. I never learned sports, or any things like most kids did, but I learned knowledge. I fully believe it was bad parenting for others. If it wasn’t for the pandemic, we would have lived a normal life, but it ruined so many other people life’s instead. Now I’m learning Spanish while the rest of my class it watching skibidi toilet trash. If you somehow managed to read all that, then good job.
@@kompastathey can if parents get their shit together. Also i don’t think it is as bad as it is made out to be. i am just barely gen alpha (born in 2011), and i am ashamed to admit so. I thank my parents and their efforts to keep me from become a braindead, mindless, goldfish-attention span child. they encourage me to read (which i love to do, im finishing like a book a week, and not some light reading either), play outside, and learn. im thankful that they took the time and effort to raise me in a way that ill have a succesful future
I honestly feel so bad for them like imagine your parents just sticking an ipad into your face from day 1 Edit: what I mean by this is that instead of parents, parenting their kids they just ignore them and immediately get them hooked on electronics instead of actually teaching them important stuff and spending time with them. I got my first phone at like 7 put it wasn’t my main source of entertainment or knowledge
The TV required 15-30 mins of attention per episode plus commercials. These kids are scrolling past a video if it doesn't entertain them in the first 5 seconds.
I remember being bored af waiting for the advertisements to end, but I used this extra time to talk to my brother and parents and bond with them. We used to crack jokes and laugh together. And then I remember being excited when the countdown for the advertisements ending used to start.
As a late Gen Z who got out normal, I don’t understand Gen Alpha, or most other people in Gen Z. Going outside in elementary to hit up the playground was awesome, and the hangout spots were the best. Going to sleepovers and birthday parties were the best. Alpha will never beat us with the cool stuff we had in the 2000s.
my girlfriend worked in a kindergarden for a week. The kids (3-5 year old) were saying derogatory words such as "whore" and racist slurs. they even called her a whore at one point, all without knowing what the words ment. Age of the internet bois..
(Born 2004, graduated 2022) While I spent much more time online than I should have as a kid, my parents at least made sure that I studied and was able to read at a young age. And while I wasn't exactly a poster boy at school on most days, my work was always done and whenever my grades came back positive, I was very proud of myself. Now, most parents have just lost any type of care for their childrens' education, and it shows. Grades were already declining before 2020, but the pandemic greatly accelerated this downward trend. Unrelated note: gen Z shitting on the whole skibidi toilet trend is ironic considering this was the same generation that watched fucking MLG montage parodies and other "edgy" stuff like iDubbbz or Filthy Frank (guilty as charged)
I remember Gen Z watching better stuff like Stampylonghead, Ben 10 Ultimate Alien, Ben 10 Omniverse, Lego Ninjago Masters of Spinjitzu, and those sorts of things.
As one of the last Gen Z members being born in 2010, I had unrestricted access to the internet but my parents would monitor me. I didn't have my own ipad or phone, it was perfect. I didn't watch brainrot or whatever else the internet has now in days. If you were born from 2010 - 2012 being on that cusp of gen alpha, you shouldn't become victim to brainrot, but things happen of course. If you were born past 2016, it's almost guranteed you're an ipad kid tbh. Kids need to go back like how it was when I was 5 years old. Parents need to monitor.
i saved enough money to buy one of those really cheap, dookie dollar general phones that would run a version of android that was divided by two when you would take the latest android version into account when i was about seven years old. but luckily, it was before the era of tik-tok & skibidi toilet, where the best content you could find was a peppa pig mlg edit. and luckily, we didn't have internet for the majority of when i was growing up, meaning i would download as many games as i could while we were at walmart & go to sketchy websites to download a ton of youtube videos that i wanted to watch before we had to go back home. i would regularly go to my friend's house & i would bring my 3ds with me so that we could play mario party ds. and before i got a 3ds, i would bring my ds lite so we could open pictochat & misspell swear words, only for one of his older brothers to have been in the chat room the whole time waiting on us so he could try to scare us.. idk how to end this because i don't really know what the point of what i'm typing is, but i already typed it & i don't want to delete it tldr: if you're reading the "tldr" first, you should probably stop watching those family guy clips with subway surfers at the bottom & captions in the center (this is entirely unrelated from the actual comment)
I'm 13 years old. I go to a school mostly made up of gen alpha kids. In the hallways they always talk about how theyre gonna persue content creation and I dont mean that they shouldnt follow their dreams, Its just that when everybody becomes a content creator society can't function. We need more doctors, teachers, pilots, firefighters ect. and all of these things is what makes a country, A country.
I'm gen alpha, and that gives me PERFECT ground to say that I've seen some of my friends do horrible things. Making the cringiest tiktoks, throwing chairs across the room, you name it. Now, we're all a bit more mature, but based off of what I've been seeing young kids do, this iPad shit needs to STOP. Like, a little while ago, my little cousin finally learned what is socially acceptable (kind of) and stopped watching LankyBox. Somehow he still has the manners of a person who plays Fortnite all day (because that's what he is). If this continues, who knows what'll happen. We may have fat discord mods running amuck, or lots of spam emailers, or something. I'm scared for the future of the Internet.

I was born just about the same time you were my friend, while I never had electronic restraints I still acted used them very little until I came into my older years of being a “kid kid” I use my phone and electronics often, I admit, but even when handed the option to use an electronic there is a good chance I’ll find something better that dosent have a screen.

I'm part of Gen Z. And I can remember a time when I would literally run and play outside for hours. And play with my toys and draw. But now as a High Schooler, everyone is just on their phones 24/7. And the sad part is, all of them probably remember the time without constant screens, and want to go back to that time. At least I do. I wish things were more simple like before. But now everyone is constantly peer pressured to be "cool" and to be on their phones and AirPods all the time. Like it's kind of cringe. I remember when I only had a handful of friends that played random stuff with me all the time.
@@kanki9718 i'm saying this isn't a part of gen alpha OR gen z. it's not even a part of milennials. basically anyone and everyone under the age of like, their mid 40s falls victim to this. people need to stop pinning things on the younger generation because this same pattern has been observed for legit over 2,000 fucking years. no joke, there are records of Romans doing this same kind of thing.

I’m a younger millennial ( born in ‘94) so I don’t have kids yet but hope to have them soon(ish). For all the bitching and moaning we did against our Gen X parents for being too tough, we went ahead and swung so far into the extreme of “gentle parenting” aka no freaking rules. I’ve heard of so many millennial parents blaming burnout or being tired as the reason for giving their babies iPads. to get a few hours of peace and quiet. These sites can be harmful to ADULTS. What chance do these children have? Kids need to come first. Always. If someone isn’t ready for that reality, don’t become a parent. It really is that simple.
I was born Gen Z the few day before Gen alpha existed and it is weird as hell and I hate TikTok basically I hate Gen Alpha yes I grew up on the IPad but god help me I never sat on TikTok or those weird ass videos
I agree. I’m a millennial and my sister is a zillennial (90 & 97 respectively) and we talk about how horrible millennial parenting is. Our parents failed us in one extreme and now we’re failing our kids in a whole different extreme. It’s wild to see.
I’m a millennial as well, iPads have been a red flag the whole time, at NO POINT did that look like a good idea. I made an exception for a leapfrog tablet though and don’t regret it, they’re literally a fraction of the price and only do learning activities. I also don’t hit my kids, show them I’ve lost control of my anger, there diet is clean AF, they get books like they’re toys, addictive electronics are limited, and they have clear and rigid structure and rules in their lives… maybe I’m an outlier but all of that should be critical to parenting. it’s not impossible. But you need to always be more disciplined than you think. Kids ONLY learn by example.
As someone born in 2005 I feel bad for all the gen alpha kids who went through the pandemic. I was in my freshman year of high school when stuff really got bad and who knows what the long term consequences will be
I was in 5th grade, which probably isn’t that important since it’s just elementary school but it’s surprising how much I missed through 4-5th and now I’m an 8th grader, almost a freshman.
As someone who doesn't want kids for personal reasons but with self-awareness on why I'm not fit to be a parent - I still feel sorry for these who were born to such environment they never asked for nor they don't know how to make their own choices. These kids deserve better parents who actually broke the cycle of Internet addiction to live a normal life and can give that to their kids and those parents shouldn't have involved kids in their life to buy such social structures if they don't know or never want to raise them in the first place.
Tbh, I'm with you on that since I also don't want kids bc I know I would not be a good parent. I can barely take care of myself, and I still live at home with my foster parents at 23 years.
@@magnusgjevre5865Hopefully, you still get to stay alive and live a happy life. After all, these experiences as kids and teens in the past shaped us into better adults with good personalities. It better if you don't get end up being like those millennials, don't try to get there like they have.
The saddest part about this perspective is the fact that those very careless parents you talk about are lacking the very self awareness that allows you to make a decision like you have (not going to say good or bad since idk u lol; but I totally feel the same)
Never asked to be born my butt. That sperm beat out millions of other cells to win that race to the egg. Pretty sure they wanted it harder than anyone else
@Thatonetacolover Sis, clearly your brain doesn't know any better because you brought up "memes" that doesn't fit the context of the video nor my comment. Also, I don't care if you're ten years old, that doesn't mean you can't know any better and you can still act better too. All I said was I don't want kids and you've proven my point tbh!
I'm Gen Alpha but I am glad that I grew up in Vietnam. most Vietnamese are first introduce to the Internet around 2010 - 2013. So, I grew up with the old Internet with crappy Windows XP and Windows 7 computers and role-play with my brothers and Lego sets and his Pokemon cards. I'm glad that I grew up with flash games. It was so fun.
I a normal Gen alpha had some access to internet but also went to the park and also played with some puzzles and played with lego ofc and also played some scrabble which was kinda fun tbh Note: I’m filipino and lil british also I grew up in UK
My toddler was having a tantrum in the store the other day, my wife did the proper thing and told him no and then refused to yeild. She apparently got dirty looks from everyone around her and told she was a bad mom. The next two generations are screwed even if you try to raise them correctly, I feel bad my kid is going to have to grow up in a hugbox dopamine world where he will be coddled to the point that when he is an adult minor inconveniences will set him off. I'll do my best to keep that from happening.
I feel for you so much. The "minor inconveniences" thing is one of the biggest pet peeves of mine. I see it in children and adults older than myself. Some basic machine or software or whatever won't "just work" and they want to complain and vent their frustrations and get all mad instead of just...try things to fix it or work around it before having a breakdown? I'm really sad to be in a world where "Curiously investigates what could be causing the issue without losing his shit" makes me some kind of special wizard.
@pro.lego_shorts Throwing a fit, crying because they aren't getting their way or what they want, usually loudly and dramatically in an effort to draw attention. You should discourage tantrums like that by not acknowledging them, responding calmly, and maintaining your ground and absolutely not giving in. Otherwise, you end up with a kid that throws a tantrum over every minor thing because they know you will give in eventually and then that behavior carries to adulthood where they will become nonfunctional the first time it does t work in the real world.
2005 Born Gen Z here. I'm gonna say that I was a MAJOR ASSHOLE in my tweens and early teen years (11 - 15). I always started petty drama, got angry at the slightest things, and I was heavily addicted to screens. But after some school suspensions, punishments, therapy, and even failing a grade, Reality finally kicked in for me. I knew I had to leave that childish shit behind and actually grow up and do other things. So I began slowly focusing more on my fitness, responsibilities, and future. I am slowly but carefully adjusting and in future I hope to pursue a career in a medical, biology, or accounting field. Moral of story. PLEASE punch discipline and maturity as soon as possible cuz it took more than half of my teenage years to fuckin grow up and fit as a functional member of society.
If only my school was as good as yours... I was doing wild shit, people were raising an eye, but really, nothing much happened after, so I continued doing my shit until my graduation
If it makes you feel better, almost everyone regardless of generation was an ahole in middle school age range that’s why most teachers hate teaching middle school and won’t touch it with a 10 ft pole. They are probably the worst version of themselves that refuse to put on deodorant that they will ever be.
2005 Born Gen Z here. I just wanted to say that I was lucky to skip having any Gen Alpha Sibling. I do have siblings, but my little brother’s a late Gen Z (2009), and I have a Gen Zeta sibling (2020).
I’m a very, very late Gen Z and my mother works as a third grade teacher. I go to the middle school next to her school. I walk to her school after my school is done. Everything you said about Alpha’s education (and just in general) is absolutely true. I really dislike Gen Alpha, even if I’m just barely make the cut of Z, these kids are currently watching crap like Cocomelon and Skibidi Toilet, while I know some Gen Z’s grew up with Studio Ghibli, SpongeBob, Pokémon, and other legitimately good works. Almost everything he says in this video is absolutely correct.
personally, during my childhood I almost saw something, something that can probably be called bad, ticks that went down in the history of memes for 2007-2023, as well as what went down in the history of TV series, cartoons, the Internet, and if not everything, then clearly what you saw and watched
My highschool is luckily good, from the second we enter, we are shown art and language. We even learn some Latin every couple of weeks. Still though, doesn't stop the brainrot.
@@papastalin3498 Anything wrong with that? I mean self discovery is an important thing and even though it might not be permanent it doesn't hurt anyone. Also before you say anything about the bible the only LGBTQ thing mentioned in the bible is not being gay (And that could have been mistranslated) Nothing about being trans.
to put it bluntly, every generation has a brainrot. i dont know what millennials had, but gen z grew up with MLG, gen alpha grew up with YT shorts, and one day gen alpha will be making fun of the stuff that gen beta watches. its a never ending cycle.
@@tolstarthekingI found out about yt in 2019 and never watched it for a good chunk of time because I and basically everyone from where I live didn't have free wifi it was only when we were at hotels while traveling that we can use the internet so I just ended up playing stuff like clash of clans or the likes until the pandemic with a wifi I got into youtube and stuff so I played Super Mario Bros(3 I think)on the nds
You’re getting us confused with gen x, we’re not old, and we’ve been looked after just like you. Gen z hates boomers for their step types of them and proceeds to use them on us
I honestly never thought about how amazing it was to be raised by a caring family until I got old myself, never take them for granted, and I hope to be a great parent myself someday.
As a Gen Z myself, 2004, I'm glad that I got into the world of the Internet quite late. Yes, I had a Nintendo since I was 11 or 12, so I had access to the Internet whenever I was home, but it was still restricted, I couldn't do too much. I was almost 14 when I got my first smartphone, 5 years now and I have admit, even in these 5 years, I got pretty much addicted to it. I can't imagine how it must be for Gen Alpha kids, who get an Ipad shoved into the face since birth. I'm glad that I still know how it was living without technological devices except the TV.
Can relate, had a DS from 6-8 and a Wii until 9 years old and only got a PS4 in 2020, a phone in 2019 and now only have a PS5 SLIM. GEN ALPHA KIDS HAVE iPAD PRO MAXES AT 0.001 YEARS OLD. I could do mental math like fractions and basic math 101 at the age of 5 due to aspergers.
I got my first smart phone when I entered High school but man, elementary school recess were something else… no tablets or whatever it’s just you, the homies and the school yard.
I’m in 10th grade, and Lots of people in my class Talk back to my teacher and don’t take school and life seriously. I’m thankful for parents that actually teach well.
i am 12th grade now, but back in grade 8, most of the class that time didn't give shit, they be screaming and replying with bad words, even the same people with me in 12th grade are still doing it, I am extremely thankful my parents taught me how to be kind and nice, instead of being cold and disrespectful
As a Gen Z, I actually would play outside and do things other than stare at my phone all day. But it seems like everyone my age has just forgotten about those days and are constantly on their phones scrolling though TikTok. I seriously feel like an old man because I’m so out of the loop with what is even going on anymore. However as time went on, all my neighbor friends all sort of had their own things going on and I would be going outside less and less. Nowadays, I try to go outside more, but when there isn’t really anyone to hang out with most of the time, it gets boring. But at least I’m not addicted to my phone. I still touch grass, eat healthy, and go to the gym.
I’m a very early gen A (about a month away from being gen Z) and I’ve started to notice my constant usage on UA-cam (not UA-cam shorts thankfully) and I’ve decided to walk for an hour each day (I very recently started this) I know small steps are they key to getting rid of this addiction. I hope I’m able to stop it before it’s too late. Somewhat unrelated but I’ve never been the social type, I’ve never really cared about social interaction because of my lost friendships. when I got to first grade, a friend group I was in abandoned me because I was in a different class, I did make new friends but I lost them after third grade when I transfered schools, now the only people I hang out with is my best friend I’ve been friends with since I was about 7 and I think the friendships slowly gotten weaker, I hope abandoning my addiction will stop a potential depression in the future. Goodbye UA-cam… hopefully Edit: I’ve thought through this more and I think the main thing in the way is gonna be my lack of close friends.
Young one, you are not only braver than most people your age, but also braver than people far older than you. I know some people in their 20's that are absolutely addicted to social media, to the point where it's actively hurting their life. Hell my 56 year old dad told me he watched shorts at work, so it's clearly a strong showing of maturity that you stop social media by yourself below the age of 13. Keep it up 👑
As a Gen X parent to a Gen Alpha child, I can honestly say that my energy levels are barely enough to get me through the day, but every time the little one asks to play I remind myself that that is time not spent in front of a screen.
That is so, so important. I might be a random stranger on the internet, but I honestly thank you for your effort. Having kids is really exhausting, but it won't help the kids themselves if their parents don't spend time with them.
As someone from Gen Z, I am highly afraid of the entire world's future on Gen Alpha's hands. I can't help but feel like we are absolutely doomed if this continues.
As a person born in Gen Alpha, I am so glad to say i had a childhood with my entertainment being climbing trees, going to playgrounds, watching Nickelodeon, riding bikes, and hanging out with friends from school doing the same things. It actually baffles me how parents give their kids an Ipad/phone instead of letting them run outside. I got my first phone in 6th grade (in 8th right now) and I still have rules on what I can and cannot do. I just don't get how people can want to be parents, and then not parent their kids.
I was born in early Gen Alpha but still watched CN, rode my bike with my friends, played football, would go outside during break (recess for americans), etc etc. I got an Ipad at around 5-6th grade and had restrictions like you could only spend x hours after completing your homework. The way Gen Alpha is going right now is really concerning, but the same with how the world is going right now, such as whos gonna be the barber, whos gonna teach us, whos gonna drive cargo ships? All incomplete questions no one wants to answer.
I'll be honest, I'm part of Gen Alpha (2011 jan 7) but I act, behave and grew up just like every Gen Z kid too, I even read encyclopedias as a kid for entertainment and my first ever fun book I got was when I was 10 years old, I just knew about cocomelon when I was 9 years old and I didn't like it, I just slept instead. I grew up watching Arabic kid friendly nursery rhymes, MBC3, SpaceToon and cartoon network. Those new slangs sound horrible and just mean something weird, I swear if I met someone who's born in 2011 and just says gyatt, I'm running away. Currently, I have a younger sister who's born in 2022, and I can safely guarantee you that she will not grow up braindead, she knew how to count and read basic letters at the age of 2. And about creativity? Until now I literally imagine new stories wether it'd be fan fic, fantasy anything while I sleep or anytime I want. Random fact: I'm in 8th grade right now, I'm smarter than most of my classmates (Gen Z) and I'm considered mature. Why did I have to be part of Gen Alpha? If only I was born 7 days earlier
I'm part of BOTH Gen Z AND Gen Alpha. I was born in the 2010-2012 era where those people born there are considered both. So depending when you were born, you are considered both:)
There is one show Gen Alpha is growing up with that gives a glimmer of hope: Bluey. I’m so glad Gen Alpha is growing up with such an amazing show that honestly rivals a lot of the shows I grew up. And, I mean, it’s either that or CocoMelon.
And the good thing is that parents who use the TV put on Bluey more than any other show for their child in today's time and I am so happy for that. I watched some episodes myself and I could say it is one of the best shows of this decade.
I’m so glad my parents were strict enough to teach me right from wrong. I may be a bit dumb sometimes, and I may be a UA-cam addict, but at least I’m watching informative Pikmin videos rather than…whatever it is those kids are watching.
Born in 2008: I can agree that a difference for gen z is that we definitely still had the outdoor socializing experiences especially in elementary school, I honestly cannot remember ever preferring to be on the computer which we shared as a family and made a loud noise any time we used it. I only stayed in and watched Harry Potter DVDs when it was pouring rain or invited a random classmate over to make slime or cook those big puffy pretzels... ah the good ol days...
It sounds cozy. I'm also born in 2008. I agree, even though I did play phone a lot, I also go out a lot and have family social often. Elementary school was probably one of the best time in my life b my friends was nice. Now it's so hard to find sane people irl...
The best thing about Gen Alpha is that they're giving Gen Z and the rest of the Millenials a great example of what bad parenting is. As a Zennial (born in '99, the gap between Millennials and Gen Z) who plans on being a father when I reach my mid 30's, I have a good source of parenting advice: just do the opposite of Gen Alpha's parents!
I remember in first grade my entire class was on lock 24/7 because we would always have a system where if you did a bad thing, you would move down one level on a chart. If you fell to the bottom, you would get a call home but if you went to the top, you could get free candy.
As someone born in Gen Alpha, (I was born in 2010, so I'm currently 13 years old, almost 14.) I'm just thankful that I actually got to enjoy playing outside with my friends, and didn't spend my whole day watching Skibidi Toilet. The only form of technology I really had as a toddler was one of those Leap Frog tablets which I remember having genuinely educational apps/games on it. I went to an Italian restaurant with my family, for my little cousin's birthday. My cousin, the whole time, was deadass watching elsagate videos on his fucking iPhone 15 pro max. (he's 5, by the way.) That's just a perfect example of how parents get their kids to shut up these days. Oh and I got my first phone in 6th grade, btw.
Im also from 2010, september 24, and i cant get enough of this shit. like i cant just say the truth without there being one wimpy shit just running. When they take my phone, im a bit mad because well anyone would be, but its no big deal and hey , life goes on. Im not english btw.
I'm an 06 kid and I also had a lead pad when I was little. I got my leap pad explorer in 2010 I think, but I abandon it after I got my Nintendo DS so after a few years I found it in a drawer with the batteries leaking acid everywhere.
You should have seen the phones we had back in 2004, when I was 5 years old. You couldn't do jack shit on those phones back then, besides text and call, obviously, send emails, and play really basic games like Solitaire, Snake, and Breakout. People weren't fucking glued to their phone screens back then, as they were seen as simple tools for communication rather than a literal supercomputer at your fingertips.
@@jycie8511 If you were born in 2010, then you are Gen Alpha. You have no memory of the 2000's whatsoever, your childhood was the 2010's, and now you are entering your teen years.
I am a Gen Z (2006) and man I am glad that I wasn't raised on a screen. Some of my favorite memories are from when I was playing outside with my friends and exploring. I can't imagine that Gen Alpha will have too many fond memories to look back on when they grow up because they were raised on brain-rotting filler content while sitting inside with very little social interaction outside of social media.
one thing I would never forget was back in grade 4 my friends and I made a 'company' against something, and we would ask our librarian to lend us the meeting table during recess to hold a meeting. I remember I was co-ceo and we had so much fun. we found an Egyptian book with a huge red gem inside and we spent days trying to find out who stole it later on.
I gotta say my little brother is just better than the average gen alpha, maybe because my mom kept the educational toys I had so he could use them. It's better children use those annoying ass toys that shout random ass characters in a high pitched voice than for them to look at cocomelon in a zombie like trance. He's averagely literate for his age, not entirely a little jackass, a little behind in math (but aint everybody?), he kinda knows how letters and numbers look, and he's not talking about skibidi toilet or making dumb noises 90% of time (that has been replaced with WWE).

I’m 14 and unfortunately part of Gen A, but I am glad to say that when I was REALLY young I still had to rely on CN, Nick, PBIS, Etc. Things are only like the way my king Tommy is describing them for kids born 2014-2025
I'm a borderline gen Y guy(1994). Sure I got addicted to computer games and the internet around middle school(which is a shame really), but even I have memories of actually playing outside until 6th grade. I only had a handful of friends but I remember role-playing with them, playing with slides, jungle gyms, bb-guns and even with Yugioh cards until mom yelled at me to come eat dinner. Heck, I recognized most of the games(except the squid game) from Squid Game! That made me feel old as hell
Early gen Z here. I spent all of my childhood playing outside, but I will admit that I was addicted to computer and DS games in my later pre-adolescence years.
@@ColdBaltBluemiddle Gen Z(2005-2008) here. Although it may be because of where i live but up to 6th grade I didn't even have a phone to begin with and spent most of my time outside or watching old movies on CDs with friends.

It was really good back then and I only got to live it for a short time. I really feel sorry for the next generation, its getting horrible for us. ...
As a father who prohibits his kids from using online entertainment, the hardest part about raising kids is other adults. They always want to show the kids something on their phones. I left my child for a few hours with the neighbour, and now she calls the TV “cocomelon”… Forgive me PewDiePie.
I'm seeing memes that I was so annoyed about when they were popular (that whole Pewdiepie war thing, E and everyday we stray further from god) and tbh it's like a breath of fresh air. It's like moldy air yeah but it's better than the braindead shit I'm seeing kids watch nowadays.
I work in a daycare and I’ve never seen kids like this before. Can’t write their names at 6 years old and get physically violent with adults over being told no. It’s honestly sad to see.
I'm twelve years old and I can do 33 and they can't do 1 which is fine at longest they can run and stay activ- oh yeah their running speed is my walking speed which is a fact
My kid is 2 1/2. There's definitely some bizarre videos on UA-cam he occasionally drifts onto. But my wife usually steers him back to the more educational stuff (and Bluey). He mostly just loves cars, trucks, and watching us play Mario Kart. He does not have a tablet or a phone and we intend to keep it that way. Though I expect the peer pressure may become immense as he gets older. I can only hope he'll be happy with a desktop computer like I'm using right now. I think he must be getting some good educational stuff, because he already knows the entire alphabet and can count to 13. He's also recognized some whole worlds and memorized half the books he likes. And he loves playing outside! (Except now... he does not like it cold and snowy, lol.)
your doing an amazing job raising him. Keep up the great job. Parents like you are what still give me some hope in Gen Alpha. As a Gen Z (2005) it saddens me to see almost all the kids on a phone or tablet. At least when I was younger I used my imagination by drawing, making box houses, playing outside etc. Sure i played games like Angry Birds, Toontown Jumpstart etc (most of these games still available today) but at least I wasnt straight up addicted as my parents always set time limits and made me take breaks. I'm glad I was raised the way I was.
My mom is a teacher, and I hear constant stories of how badly behaved her kids are, and how they’re so behind. Like she said the band teacher had to spend his lesson with some kids teaching them months of the year instead of their instruments… these kids are in middle school!!!
THE MONTHS OF THE YEAR!?!! IN THE BAND CLASS IN MIDDLE SCHOOL!?!?!?!? I stg 💀. I am so glad I know middle schoolers who are smart and believe in their teachers 😭.

Man the thought of two 68 year olds having a conversation and then one of them going “Do you remember Skibidi toilet?” Then both bursting out into the laughter is pretty funny
I grew up with SpongeBob also for me it was mostly pbs kids not all gen alpha are 5 year olds with vr headsets and phones swearing and watching skibidi toliet.
I grew up with most of the old Cartoon Network shows and some sponge bob here and there These kids are growing up with acid being poured into their skulls
I am considered a Gen Alpha (Born in 2013) and for some reason, when I heard about skibidi toilet I'm like "what the hell is that?!", I was disciplined quite well. I'm just stuck in the past I guess. I grew up with Spongebob, Pokemon, Ben 10, Fairy Odd Parents, Mickey Mouse and even more. And nowadays the memes that I LOVED are pretty much dead, Like the doge meme, Helicopter, Spooky Scary Skeletons, Standing Here I realize and many more..It's sad to think that I am probably the only 17 Gen Alphas with common sense. And when I was in a mall and saw a Gen Z throwing a tantrum for not getting a new hairdryer my mind was like "Am I smarter than her?!"
My son is (barely) Gen Z and it is not nearly as bad as the internet is making it seem. Everyone is worse on the internet. In real life, middle schoolers can still read and a lot of them still get good grades.
the "gen alpha is retarded" stream of garbage content is just cope invented by zoomers unable to handle turning senile, becoming the very thing they've always hated both "rizz" and "ohio" were created by zoomers, and memes before that were no better (amogus and literally any other absurdist meme) the "gen alpha jargon" meme is obviously ironic - believe it or not, people only use words associated with it because that's what the meme is your "gen alpha" kid is fine
I did co-teaching and sub teaching in high school for a few years because I was considering switching careers into teaching as I really found it fulfilling. Whit the AP class I taught was pretty great, the younger kids I subbed for gave me some pause. Some of these reports I hear from teachers is terrifying and I really feel for them. They do not get paid enough for what they do and have to deal with.
Finally, someone who acknowledges that Gen Alpha exists! I get a little annoyed when people confuse Gen Alpha for Gen Z. I actually do feel bad for Gen Alpha, though. To be honest, I feel like a number of these issues also have to do with adults failing them, like parents letting their children become mindless at home or having teachers that don't teach properly.
The internet got worse, that's what happened. Nowadays everything is so corporatized, everything is run by algorithms and shareholders instead of the creative, edgy, boundary pushing wild west it used to be when we were growing up.
I'm so happy I developed a love for reading (especially novels nowadays) before starting elementary school because of my older sister, I still love reading to this day and I'm trying to get my nephews and nieces to develop hobbies too, one of my nieces is starting to like reading too, I gave her(before the coffee gets cold) and she really liked it. Anyway just try to get your kids to have hobbies that don't involve keeping their eyes on screens all the time, it worked for me and it will hopefully work for you
damn... I used to be reading all the time ever since I could, but once I got my first phone and generally started using it more and more, I gradually started to lose the desire, the patience and even the ability to read! Thankfully, since I've read hundreds of books already, it helped me a lot in school and, but now I find that I barely find the motivation to pick up a book, and once I start reading, it's just way harder to stay focused than it used to be. It used to be something I loved to do, but now I just have memories of it.
@@konstantink07 I get you, I went through a stage like that at middle school, however reading Les Misérables reignited my love for reading again, hope you can find the right book that will reignite your passion too
Konstantink, I'm in the very same boat as you. I read anything and everything I could get my hands on up until I got my first phone at the beginning of seventh grade. I had a period of ~2 years where I didn't read a single non-assigned book in my free time. What I've found is that certain books are more difficult to read than others, as the commenter below you mentioned. I'm really into Law Thrillers (mainly Phillip Margolin) as well as any realistic (fictional) novel that contains a relatively diverse vocabulary (as I cannot stand to read books with short, choppy sentences and words that even four year olds know). Hope you can find your spark my friend!
As someone who is smack in the middle of Gen Z and Gen Aplha, I cannot express how much I agree with every single thing you said. Especially the comedy thing, as i’m an aspiring comedian. I’m not even joking, this whole video is everything i’ve been trying to say lmao
3:19 the Problem compered to MLG or other things from Early Internet is people "Claim" them to be "Brain Rot" when its far more Tamed & Less Explicated to Now thats more of "Brain Rot"
When/if I become a parent, I am probably going to parent them like my mum did with me, so things like playing football after school, going to the park, and, like what I did when I was a mere 10 year old, collect bugs from national geographic comics. I reckon I would give them their first device at 6-8 years old in order to be fair to them, but it wont be an iPad, probably some Nintendo consoles, with Mario games and REAL GAMES on it. I would also encourage them to play sudoku, because its rather relaxing. On top of that, I would 100% give them my collection of books. There are many reasons, including the fact that its good for your mental health, its helps you pipe down and relax, which would likely help them sleep, and I have a whole bookshelf sitting at my mums house in Lincolnshire and she has been bugging me to come over and help clear it out (I'm only 20, moved out a year ago).
crazy that in the future, your way might probably be viewed as overly controlling parents as much as the extremely religious household of today. it’s not impossible 😭
hey there, i am an asian gen alpha kid, my parents did the same thing for me and its going out well for them, i know how to solve complex math problems, i socialize with my friends alot, im hitting above average grades for my level, so please, do your kids a favor and teach them like this.
I am a 13 year old girl in 7th grade. I do this thing where I go to the elementary schools and read to them. The 2nd graders we read to (or at least the ones I have) are actually really sweet! Some of my friends have hated their groups but at least they were respectful enough. BUT THE KINDERGARTENERS??? Oh my god they were horrible, they would literally get up IN THE MIDDLE OF MY SESSION and go to their cubby/talk to their friends or they would just keep interrupting me (but thats just them being kids, I'm also really talkative, sue me) but when they don't listen after I tell them to quiet down!??? It was so annoying and I hated them. Except for these two kids who were really sweet and tried to read some of the book with me. Also I have noticed in my own school, my history teacher is wonderful. He teaches, he isn't horrible to us, and he's really nice (he helped my friend with her eating disorder and when I get overwhelmed by sound he quiets the class down). But I always feel so bad when he's just blatantly disrespected by his classes. One time I left my book in his class so I went to go get it and I walk into his last period class in absolute chaos. Sometimes when he helped my friend with her ED he would invite her to come into his classroom during lunch break and just sit there trying to eat at least half the meal. I tagged along because I was there when she fainted and he likes me. And near the end of the lunch break he asked me to help rearrange the desks for his last period. He didn't do this for my class so I got curious and asked him what for. Turns out his last period is SO BAD and doesn't respect him whatsoever so he has to separate each individual seat (we sit in a group formation with mini tables) into rows so that they won't talk. He even started saying that it was his fault for being so lenient in the beginning of the year, which I think is absolutely ludicrous because he acted the same towards all of his classes and my period was not nearly as horrible to him as his last period is. Maybe its because my period is filled with more sensible people because our schedules file people in the same math course into the same classes (I'm in a higher level math course) but its still insane the lengths he has to go to. Sorry for my rant I was just angry on behalf of my favorite teacher! Have a nice day ya'll! (Also on a separate note, when is it appropriate to stop saying happy new year? End of January? 1st week of January? New years day?) Edit: I should also add, my history teacher is around 26 I believe and he is older Gen Z)
It also depends where the kids are from, if they’re them damn inner city kids, oh hellllll to the naww, majority of them are fatherless menaces, but suburban and especially rural kids are definitely generally more well developed

I am saying this from a hands on experience, I hate telling my age, but for the sake of this video I will.

Parents need to monitor.
i saved enough money to buy one of those really cheap, dookie dollar general phones that would run a version of android that was divided by two when you would take the latest android version into account when i was about seven years old. but luckily, it was before the era of tik-tok & skibidi toilet, where the best content you could find was a peppa pig mlg edit. and luckily, we didn't have internet for the majority of when i was growing up, meaning i would download as many games as i could while we were at walmart & go to sketchy websites to download a ton of youtube videos that i wanted to watch before we had to go back home. i would regularly go to my friend's house & i would bring my 3ds with me so that we could play mario party ds. and before i got a 3ds, i would bring my ds lite so we could open pictochat & misspell swear words, only for one of his older brothers to have been in the chat room the whole time waiting on us so he could try to scare us.. idk how to end this because i don't really know what the point of what i'm typing is, but i already typed it & i don't want to delete it
tldr: if you're reading the "tldr" first, you should probably stop watching those family guy clips with subway surfers at the bottom & captions in the center (this is entirely unrelated from the actual comment)

I’m a millennial and I’m absolutely appalled at how shitty my generation’s parenting is. We’re the parents of Gen Alpha.

I also don’t hit my kids, show them I’ve lost control of my anger, there diet is clean AF, they get books like they’re toys, addictive electronics are limited, and they have clear and rigid structure and rules in their lives… maybe I’m an
outlier but all of that should be critical to parenting.
it’s not impossible. But you need to always be more disciplined than you think. Kids ONLY learn by example.

What does tantrum mean?
@pro.lego_shorts Throwing a fit, crying because they aren't getting their way or what they want, usually loudly and dramatically in an effort to draw attention.
You should discourage tantrums like that by not acknowledging them, responding calmly, and maintaining your ground and absolutely not giving in. Otherwise, you end up with a kid that throws a tantrum over every minor thing because they know you will give in eventually and then that behavior carries to adulthood where they will become nonfunctional the first time it does t work in the real world.

I'm noticing it with me too.
I'm seeing mixed results and I don't even know if I'm gen alpha or not
Young one, you are not only braver than most people your age, but also braver than people far older than you.
Having kids is really exhausting, but it won't help the kids themselves if their parents don't spend time with them.
i salute you, must be tough.
As someone from Gen Z, I am highly afraid of the entire world's future on Gen Alpha's hands. I can't help but feel like we are absolutely doomed if this continues.
As a someone who was born in late 2000's(2007) i can agree with your opinion on the gen alpha

I just don't get how people can want to be parents, and then not parent their kids.
agreed.

Sadly I'm part of that too 😢

There is one show Gen Alpha is growing up with that gives a glimmer of hope: Bluey. I’m so glad Gen Alpha is growing up with such an amazing show that honestly rivals a lot of the shows I grew up. And, I mean, it’s either that or CocoMelon.
And the good thing is that parents who use the TV put on Bluey more than any other show for their child in today's time and I am so happy for that. I watched some episodes myself and I could say it is one of the best shows of this decade.
*you come in with Bluey DVDs*

The problem is with their parents as well as with schools. The keys are technology limitations as well as being strict to them but in the good way.
I’m so glad my parents were strict enough to teach me right from wrong. I may be a bit dumb sometimes, and I may be a UA-cam addict, but at least I’m watching informative Pikmin videos rather than…whatever it is those kids are watching.
Nice, i like pikmin too

I can agree that a difference for gen z is that we definitely still had the outdoor socializing experiences especially in elementary school, I honestly cannot remember ever preferring to be on the computer which we shared as a family and made a loud noise any time we used it. I only stayed in and watched Harry Potter DVDs when it was pouring rain or invited a random classmate over to make slime or cook those big puffy pretzels... ah the good ol days...
Bro got that degree in slime cooking lol

I had the same. We'd also get skittles/starbursts for answering questions correctly.
(he's 5, by the way.)
That's just a perfect example of how parents get their kids to shut up these days.
Oh and I got my first phone in 6th grade, btw.

I gotta say my little brother is just better than the average gen alpha, maybe because my mom kept the educational toys I had so he could use them.

New years day?)
