Sometimes no plot, just vibes, really hits and sometimes it just doesnt
Don’t think I’ve ever been this early for a video! You make studying for exams bearable. I’m struggling to be motivated to revise recently but you help make me more productive! Lots of love x
Good luck with your exams 🍀
Good luck ✨️
Yes I totally get you! Trying to study for finals but I’m feeling so unmotivated and these videos are such a help! Good luck on your exams tho
Good luck on your exams.
Loved the crimson moth so much, and you are the first youtuber I see reading it, so exciting❤
I love how people react so differently to books. For instance your reaction to Wild Love vs. Destiny's. Just goes to show you've got to try out books for yourself.
rachel we need more reading vlogs I love this💌
love you so much rachel! Your verses and extracts from the Bible make my day ❤️🩹🫶
i really hope you read jane austen, specifically pride and prejudice some day ahhh since you like the whole regency vibes i feel like youd like it even if you aren't obsessed with classics
So happy you loved Heartless Hunter! So far one of my favorite reads this year too, right up my alley! ❤🦋
Wild love was a 5 star read for me 😂 sorry it wasn’t your fav ❤
I just love your vlogs and reading vlogs ❤ I mean I love your other videos as well but the vlogs are my favorite 😊
Rachel I love to read books so so so so much and whenever you posts a new vlog it's makes my day better and better 🥹🥹💗
I looooooved the crimson moth i need more books like it!! My perfect fantasy setting
I felt the same way with Wild Love!! Made me so sad cause I wanted to LOVE it. I’m glad to know I’m not the only one I was feeling crazy.
So happy you enjoyed Crimson Moth, the ending got me so good. If you enjoy her other writing she has another trilogy that is also very good IMO.
literally get so excited when you upload
definitely relate to everything you said about wild love! It was my first elsie silver book and I had such high expectations and I liked it but thought it was just fine :( but knowing you felt the same way but still love chestnut springs gives me hope for that!
Rachel, I saw Defy the Night on your tbr cart and got so excited. You need to read it! This series is amazing and I love it so much! I literally never binge read series, however, I couldn't put the books in this series down. It's so so good!
I can’t find that book on Goodreads. The first one is heartless hunter
I brought crimson moth after you talked about it in a haul and omg absolutely loved it
I just finished The Crimson Moth and it really surprised me how much I enjoyed it! Can’t wait to see where the next book goes
Such a fun way to get the books picked. My favorite genres are romance and fantasy too.😊
I picked up the first Veronica Speedwell book due to Katie and although I haven’t read it yet it gave me Sally Lockheart Mysteries vibe by Phillip Pullman which you may also enjoy 😊
I had the same feeling about wild love it was a 3.5 star. It was good but I just want obsessed
how i adore your reading vlogs 🥹
I just saw Defy the night on your book cart! I love that series. I hope you read it soon and like it as well
So happy you enjoyed anatomy, i knew you would. The crimson moth was fun but her not knowing that the brother was into her irritated me cause it was obvious. I love this video.
Great reading vlog💕. You're one of the people that convinced me to read The crimson moth and I really enjoyed it. I wish book 2 was out because that ending was heartbreaking. I definitely need to move Anatomy up my tbr because I've wanted to read it for ages and it sounds so good. I'm currently reading Heartless so I haven't read Wild love yet but it's so good already.
the premise of anatomy sound alot lite the artful dodger series on disney+. now I want to read anatomy
I just recently read Anatomy. It was fun to hear your thoughts on it. Loved the reading vlog
Girl i think youd really like Sarah M Eden’s books!!! She does historical romances and my favorite ones are her regency ones!! And theres so much family and found family and i ADORE her writing!! And also her book Seeking Persephone is being made into a movie soon and im so excited! Hahah
I’ve been waiting for this vid 🫶🏼
I feel like the crimson moth is sounding very similar to the serpent & dove trilogy which I loved so I definitely need to add this to my shelf
The sound of your chair squeaking scared the crap out of me!!
I read the kindle sample of Wild Love and I couldn’t bring myself to buy it and keep reading! It just wasn’t grabbing me enough, and I vowed this year not to waste time on a book that I’m just not enjoying enough.
Rachel I need to know your chestnut springs ranking!!!
I am moving to Edinburgh in the fall and have been trying sooo hard to find a book set there. Definitely going to pick up Anatomy of a love story
Since you’re loving the historical fiction/ regency era books, you should check out the Ruby Red trilogy by Kirsten Gier. It was translated from German and has movies too. The plot is about time travelling to the 1800s I believe. Another really good series is Doon by Carey Corp and Lorie Langdon (that one is based in Scotland). Love love your reading vlogs, they’re one of my faves ❤
That trilogy is such a throwback 😩👌🏻
If you visit any city in the world I’d recommend Edinburgh, it’s beautiful! And the premise of Anatomy actually happened, grave digging was quite prominent in Edinburgh for medical studies. There’s a Surgeons museum there that shows the history of it 😅
I also didn't really connect with wild love and there was actually quite bit that I actively didn't like, but I still enjoyed Elsie Silver's writing so much!
I’m so glad you enjoyed Anatomy - it’s one of my favourite books of the year.🫀
Good morning Rachel happy Friday morning and I loved your vlogs and you are amazing Supporter
For instagram polls such as this, I think it’s best if you let it sink a little bit more. Maybe 12 hours since you’ve posted the poll just so people like us who are in a different timezone can vote before you began to tally it. Nonetheless, I’d still watch your videos because I do love to hear your thoughts :)
i'm so glad to see someone else have similar opinions on wild love... i see everyone giving it 5 stars but i just didn't like it very much and gave it 2.5 which was so sad after how high my expectations were from chestnut springs 😭
You will also love a natural history of dragons, woman in regency wanting to study the anatomy of dragons. soo great. finished series as well (i believe)
I didn't know this was a series! Thank you
your videos always make my day!
Love the crimson moth
Great video as always 😊
Rachel, have you tried the Veronica Speedwell series by Deanna Raybourn? The first is A Curious Beginning. It’s also set in Victorian England and is a mystery series about a woman who is a lepidopterist (studies butterflies!) who travels the world and solves murders. There is a slow burn romance throughout the series. It’s a lot of fun!
Hard agree about Wild Love, I don't understand how 99% of booktubers/booktokers etc are rating it 5 stars and saying its their fave Elsie Silver book. I have about 10% left but just cannot bring myself to finish it and have been in a slump for about 3 weeks from this book 🥲
100% agree with your review of Wild Love. Also don’t love the adultification of a minor in this one…especially in an attempt at comic relief.
Grabbed Anatomy a Love Story on Libby during your review, thanks!!
honestly, I think you should read “the name of the star” by maureen johnson as well! I read them a few years ago and loved them, such a fun combination of fantasy and murder mystery
am I the only one doing the “gooooodbye” with her every time?😂🥰
No I felt the same way about Wild love! I was so mad too cuz I was so excited but it was just meh
Great video Rachel.
Just finished Crimson Moth….a one read! ❤️
Yaaay!! Liked before I even started watching ❤️
Ahhhhh. Rachel posted.🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
It’s a great day when you post a new video ❤️
I loved anatomy!!!!
I love how me and you have a opinions so similar!
Hi Rachel ! Love ur vids
The ones I guessed from the polls were wild love, the crimson moth, tempest of tea and anatomy 🫀♥📚
I guessed Anatomy right! And all my votes got picked, yay!!
Thank you so much for posting, was literally getting so bored trying to find something to watch
Gals I need your help! I need a book suggestion for a can’t put down thriller. I loved silent patient and verity so maybe something like that?
I felt the same about Wild Love it just didnt hit the same. All I saw was 5 star reviews and I thought am I missing something
Where is that bookmark from?! 👀
Your paper back books are the size of US hard cover ❤
RAAACH you have to pick up the veronica speedwell series , it's soooo good it's about veronica , a lepidopterist aka butterfly scientist in the victorian era and she has a very very strong and cool personality . The book is a cozy mystery with a slowburn romance that is soooo good
I haven't picked up wild love yet and I'm not sure if I truly want to read it 🙈 if anyone else has read it too I'd love to hear some opinions! Great video Rachel 💌
I listened to the audiobook when it was first released. I feel like it was a fun and easy romance book without too much emotional impact, so I agree with Rachel in that regard, but I enjoyed it more than her. I found it funny and that really made the book for me. Since it's a romantic comedy, if you don't vibe with the humor, it probably won't be that enjoyable. If you're in the mood for something light and funny, you should give it a go! You might enjoy it. Hope that helped in any way 🫶
@@Mermaidfolk that is very helpful! Thank you so much 😍
Personally my least fave book by Elsie Silver. Its an easy read, theres a few cutesy scenes but not a whole lot of depth to it (theres a lot of telling rather than showing, its marketed as a billionaire romance but you hardly see Ford being a billionaire) and some of the stuff that happens just makes zero sense (I.e the 12 year old speaks like shes 16, that whole situation is weird). I felt like there wasn't really chemistry between the two main charachters and the side charachters are kinda just there lol. A lot of people are rating it highly though so it wouldn't hurt to give it a go, everyone will have a different reading experience based on what they like!
@@TLC9055 this is very helpful!! Thank you 💕
Excellent video Rachel!
The only one I guessed from the voting was wild love haha 😅😊
Love you Rachel ❤
Please put saving 6 in a reading vlog 🥰
I think I have to check out anatomy ❤
Hi Rach, where is your “the great undoing” jumper from🤩
I’m reading wild love right now and chestnut springs got 6⭐️ for me as a series and I feel the EXACT same way about wild love that you explained. I don’t know what the plot is and I miss the found family vibes so badly :/ in my heart I want to rate her books 5⭐️ but it’s just not there
How did you get paperback of crimson moth? :)
She was either sent an ARC or sometimes books only come out in paperback in Australia
Very opposite with Destiny. She loved wild love and rated funny story 3. You loved funny story and didn’t quite love wild love. Bit i’m gonna read both and see
anatomy a love story was one of my 5 stars last year! but i’ll be so honest, the second book kind of ruins how good the first one was. anatomy ends in way like you said where you can kind of assume your own ending, and to me, the second one was unnecessarily and ruins that ambiguity!
WHAT how did you read The Crimson Moth? I found book 1 -Heartless Hunter and book 2 - Rebel Witch, in the Crimson Moth series, but I’m confused that yours was just called crimson moth. Is the one you read a combination of book 1 and 2??
crimson moth is the UK title, heartless hunter is the north american title but they are the same book
I thought the lock one was lock every door. Even tho its a thriller
I'm reading wild love and feel the exact same way about it! Just not loving this one.
Interesting thoughts about wild love and the lack of plot, but yet you love magnolia parks which has zero plot 🙊
everyone has different tastes 🤷🏼♀️ it’s all subjective.
Wild love was very disappointing😅
💚🖤
girl, every time I watch a video from this month I get excited to see if you've read saving 6🥲
❤❤
