Roland's grooveboxes are incredibly capable machines. I've used the 303 and 505 extensively in tons of songs I've made. They can do much more than people realize. They're not as capable as a modern DAW of course but there is still a ton of life left in these if you get creative. Best use I think is to create beats on them and then record that into a DAW and modify it from there. These are cool also because I used to carry it around with me to work and sit in a corner on lunch breaks and work on songs.
Your damn right bro this is a beast of a machine have it for a year now this is my second peace of gear an i love this machine and im glad there others who know its potential.keep on groovin man grtz
@@DavidSheltonKCDJUnique nice! im reading the user manual now to do just that cause I've just been recording bits and pieces into logic and arranging it there. I'd much rather do it all live. Thanks
I have a 505 with a few wonky buttons. You might wanna get some replacement buttons while they are still dirt cheap and readily available and swap em out. =)
You're convincing me to get mine back out. You're right, it's not the machine but what you make of it.
Dug mine out of the cupboard this week. Havin a blast playing with it all over again, id forgotten how much fun this machine is.
nice to see someone out here defending the 303. i have no experience with one, but a lot of people trash it and write it off.
right on, sometimes you got to use it to it,s potential.

You need a bit patience for this one. I hated it for a decade, but recently I started using it intensively. Needs a bit of tweaking

All sounds come from the machine. This was a preset pattern.i just tweaked the sounds.

Sounds awesome. I could never program a bass line or piano riff like that in the MC303. lol I need to practice
bounce or copy the preset to a user part and your good.
